WWE Royal Rumble 2024 Review (i was there)

- I came home from the Royal Rumble less than 24 hours ago and now having time to digest the weekend. I can now provide some light on my thoughts and things I've been collectively hearing from the IWC on the overall Royal Rumble 2024 show as a whole.

Lemme tell you guys. I walked out the rumble superstore, Saturday before the rumble and saw Sooplex to my right. I yelled “is that sooplex” like a mark😂completely by accident. He walks up to Me, my niece, and my best friend I was with and just immediately engages in conversation. Spoke for a good 10-15 minutes like he knew us. It was so chill and he was so nice. Just being overall down to earth. At one point we said our goodbyes, and he walks back up to us to offer and take our picture. Unprovoked. Just walked back up to us. Offered to be the cameraman. Meeting you was a highlight of my weekend. Thank you for being so welcoming man. Was a fan before and forever a fan after that.
I thought it was a solid show overall, both Rumbles delivered and I liked Logan/Owens.
I traveled all the way from New Orleans to Saint Petersburg. I wish I would have known you were there. I would have loved an autograph, dude. I figured it out when I left and open UA-cam because there was no WI. Fi😂
I slightly rounded up to 7 on mine; but speaking as someone there live, you just about said all my thoughts on this years event.
I don’t care what anyone says the royal rumble this year was fun and awesome.
Women's was definitely better than the men's RR, but not because of technical excellence. Women's had the misfortune of having Maxxine in the mix, plus Kairi eliminating herself too early. But despite that, it felt like it told these big interweaving stories: Nia and Becky, the other powerhouses trying and failing to challenge Nia, Jade succeeding where they all failed, Chelsea the human pinball, and Bayley outsmarting everyone.
Yeah when I saw the Kabuki Warriors being eliminated both Asuka and Kairi, I was sad and worried that Bayley might not win with the help or the story purpose.
But it really further prove Bayley really can do this all for herself and she won.
maxxine is a gem and i will not stand for this slander
We did a watch party, we all agreed women's better. Jade Cargil actually had me shouting. That match was very entertaining, as a former women's wrestling hater, I had to clap. I didn't think I would enjoy it.
Shotzi fucked up a spot or 5 as well lol. Tbh Nia Jax kinda was the ring general leading everyone around. She's improved a lot. Nia & Bailey carried the whole shit.
And i 100% agree that Trick shoulda been in the Rumble. My man is ready. He is the Shawn and Melo is the Jannetty.

If they do jey vs jimmy at wrestlemania or whateva, one of them is gonna have to change their moveset since they BOTH have the same moves ( with the exception of jey adding a jumping superkick and spear to his moveset)
Is hope that's when Jimmy introduce his own finisher.

I'm not exaggerating when i say that the 2024 Women's Royal Rumble Match is one of the best Female Wrestling matches i have seen in my entire life. Am glad Bayley won; for some reason i foresaw Bayley's victory for several months ago. After hearing that Asuka, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair & Rhea Ripley had won Women RR matches; i felt a big name among the Women's Division in WWE was missing. Bayley was the only one missing.
I’d be intrigued to see what the view from your original seat looked like prior to moving.

I think it would be dope if the Usos did a stipulation match where if Jey loses he has to return to the Bloodline and do whatever Roman says or else leave the WWE and if Jimi loses he has to leave the Bloodline and if he interferes in any Bloodline matches he has to leave the WWE. Jimi would lose which would leave Roman with only Solo. The Rock could beat Roman in a non-title matchand resume his position as head if the table taking Solo and Paul with him. This leaves Roman with his belts but alone to face Cody at Mania to shoot the fair one. IF Cody doesnt win the title at mania this is the only scenario that makes sense because it would let Roman look stronger and lead to a Rock rematch. But i think Cody should win.
Am I the only one who gets why Roman’s matches always have shenanigans???

it's just that he is a bad guy, and that's what bad guys do. I don't really know what people don't understand about that. Why wouldn't Paul send out Solo. It only makes sense.

There have been other heels who can get the job done on their own. Being a bad guy doesn't mean you need help with every match, Gunther is a good example of it.
It doesn't make sense that Cm Punk and Cody Rhodes (The two biggest babyfaces in the WWE) had a showdown? What are you even talking about?
I think this guy's curse since he was there for both Summerslam and Royal Rumble, the high expectancy he has or crowd has can make the ppv mid.

It’s gonna be awesome truth vs judgement day for the tag titles at mania I’m calling it.
I wanna start off by saying this is my opinion and mines only. Argue wit ya mama if you’re mad…
But I think it’s just laughable (mostly pathetic) how we complain all year about not getting what we wanted, then we end up getting what we wanted, and still find a way to complain. If people wanted Punk to win, cool (Now that we know happened, it’s probably best he didn’t.) but if the plan from jump street, is Cody to finish the story, this had to happen. Unpredictability doesn’t always equate to good storytelling, because then you have what’s going on in the Bloodline right now. They have two months so I’m interested to see where they go, but for some people to call this show “mid” because there weren’t enough twists and turns…goes to show how fickle some of these fans truly are. In the end, you can’t have it both ways, charge it to the game.

So the past few years people have complained about legends getting spots and Kofi’s save spot. He doesn’t do it and now people are like why didn’t they.

It wasn’t just the matches in my oppion the crowd was dead and there was like 2 surprise returns and debuts that made it feel stale I felt like I was watching a bad 2k rumble
i sat way high in the 300’s and ngl i saw everything perfect (must’ve been the positioning but i was expecting a bad viewing experience but i was surprised i just think i went way too early i was waiting for a min till 8😂😂
A better title match would've tied the card together a lot better. Both Rumbles were fire (women's was better), I missed KO/Logan but I heard good things, and I loved that Cody won... it gives Punk something more to do before he eventually faces Seth. And "women's fatal 4 way" is hilarious.
It was Garbo, the only highlight was jade and Bianca

I think HHH/Creative should have just Made the Reigns match Roman vs Orton. Women's Rumble and the Logan KO Match were Great IMO. Mens Rumble was too dry, the first half should've had more stars in the beginning around 1-10 like Drew Sami Cody to keep the crowd engaged. 6.5/10 for me

Me personally, I really liked that they had the 3 top picks in the end, I feel like this just made things way more unpredictable at that point.

the most offensive thing on this show was them referring to this area as “st pete clearwater” as if it’s one place. it’s two different cities!! the trop is downtown st pete, like 20-30 minutes from clearwater. also definitely not tampa, don’t come down here calling st pete tampa unless you ready to fight

Last thing the Reason people have turned on Roman currently is because of the constant bloodline interference. If Roman was just showing up and running through people it wouldnt be as much of a problem.
Its the fact hes a part timer and hes barely winning his title defenses.
I agree with you, i'm glad Cody won the RR and not Cm Punk, it would have been really unfair for someone who returned just 2 months ago to win the Battle Royale. Cody on the other hand had 1 year of storytelling going on.

Womens rumble was the highlight of the night. Mens rumble was kinda disappointing and didnt really like the fatal 4 way but my reasoning doesnt matter. Still a dope show 🔥

The men’s rumble was ok, I like when wwe has new stars in the rumble and they did but they didn’t really make them do anything special, there were some returns and Punk, but that don’t do anything to make it good, here is what I would say, instead of Omos, get someone like Otis or Pete dunne or anyone from DIY or like a newest roster member in Tyler bate but that’s just my opinion if they were facing bron breakker one on one, and then instead of pat get someone like Axiom or trick or even tozawa if they want a comedy act and Carlito didn’t even do anything so I would replace him with like Dragon Lee cuz he also had a feud with Santos

Romans match sucked. But the whole event was not underwhelming. The Crowd in the building are a quiet bunch.
Y’all only calling the show mid because there weren’t a bunch of surprises. It was a very good damn, stop fishing for the negatives set by your high expectations not being met and understand what was given was a great show

I watched this show with my friends and it was a blast. We didn't even realized the crowd was dead, we were entertained from start to finish. Personally never liked the idea of The Rock vs Roman happening at Mania 40 so when Sami came in at num 30 my friends and I jumped out of happyness for no Rock lmao. And when Cody and Punk were the last 2 we stood up till the end with suspense and fully entertained. I didn't have those "high expectactions" like the rest of the IWC. Cody was the correct choice and cannot wait for WrestleMania 40.
