Hi guys. I’ve you’ve just self tapped metal to metal the screws will shear through vibration. Just drill all the way through and bolt them on to stop them coming off. Really been enjoying the channel.
Phillios R well, one of them sheared off when we first drilled it! Then we used pilot holes and drilled the others all the way and they have held well. Are you saying they’ll shear from the vibration of driving? Thanks for the tip and glad you’re enjoying the videos :)
@@OverlandingSophia the end of the positive wire needs to be insulated with insulation tape, the solar will be working, and power will be coming from the panels, X3 160w =480w so to be safe, insulate the posive wire end so it doesn't accidentally short out in the van metal body as this can damage you panels. Have you wired the three panels in parallel?
Personally, I would have fitted the solar panels with a slight lean so water will run off and not pool on the top. Loving the videos. Cramming like other folks :)
That's crazy you recognised us from the solar panels! We were indeed on the M1 heading south yesterday, making our way to the channel tunnel! Thanks for saying hey, what a small world :)
Hey Mark, yes you can! The LWB are only 3.5tn which is covered on a standard licence. You're restricted to 60mph on motorways unless you can get it re-registered as a camper with the DVLA, but this is very unlikely nowadays. Hope that helps 😊 Chesca x
@@OverlandingSophia thanks for the reply your videos have pushed me on to try my own, sprinter purchased yesterday so it's all go this morning, thanks for inspiration
The electrics bit 😫 went over our heads, Beck looked at me I looked at Beck and we both thought the same thing what's Ben on about 😂 Sofias looking beautiful guys really coming on leaps and bounds, we loved the dark walnut stain out of them all 👍 you'll be finished in no time really looking forward to seeing her finished, another great video ❤️✌️xx
Just come across your videos somehow, watched a few minutes and instantly subbed, will go back to the start!
Wahoo! Great to have you along Matt :)

Yeah. I had a flood light come off due to winds. St screws are great but weak by the head.
Love watching your videos and you both are great
What an amazing job so far, great idea for the solar too! I’m really enjoying this series so far.. 👌👍
Thank you Mark! It's awesome to follow your comments as you're watching the videos 😊 So glad you're enjoying them!!
Looks great!!! I've really enjoyed watching the progress
Thank you so much, she's getting there :)
Be sure to insulate the positive lead so it doesn't ark/earth on the van body and cause damage.
Hey, I'm pretty sure our wires are fully insulated already, unless we're missing something?!

Excellent point, thank you Michael! Just done it now. We wired the panels in series too.

@@OverlandingSophia i knew it.👍 have a wonderfull time.
Did you have to put sealant around the housing for the cables.
Yes we did 😊
Off topic from the video but can you drive long wheel base sprinter on car license? And is there restrictions
