If Kia were to unveil their trade secrets related to extreme endurance testing, they might conduct additional evaluations that they prefer to keep under wraps to prevent competitors from gaining insights. Kudos to Kia for their efforts!
Ultimately, it will arrive or be built in NA. It just needs more "field test" data from extreme environments like UAE and Australia. In the meantime, they will change their production line in GA. They will perfect it before it shows up to any "doubters." KIA can not ignore the biggest market and the home of the pickup truck. Hope Tasman will win the truck of the year! I'm rooting for KIA!
I look forward to it! Pretty daring to launch a brand new recreational pick up in 2024 with leaf springs, but I'm sure you guys have evaluated the options. I'm ready to be surprised :)
Tasmania is named after the dutch explorer Abel Tasman, and the Tasman Sea lies between Australia and New Zealand, both countries being in the target market for the new ute.
After the Tasman, a SUV based on the Tasman should come next. Similar to how the Fortuner is based on the Hilux, or the Everest is based on the Ranger.
I'm pretty sure they have that in their road map, but as a sale for toyota's sequoia is struggling. They have to be more creative not to be in that mud pit.
I don't care about trivialities and technology. I care about it being a powerful car for tough conditions. I rely on it for everything I need. And don't let me down. If you do, it will go down in history and leave its mark. My words are a wave to Kia, if you have been patient this long and you are lagging behind the competitors. If it can't handle the tough conditions, don't be disappointed. Hope in you and you will become a laughing stock in front of competitors
Could've used multi-link live axle suspension in the rear instead of leaf springs. But if the price is good then it will be very interesting. Maybe make a SUV version too. Body-on-frame SUVs are always cool.
I’m really excited for this, I think competition is always a good thing and I hope Kia knocks it out of the park! One thing I see in that video that worries me is pretty poor articulation. If they want to be good off-road, they can’t rely too much on the traction control to try and compensate for poor traction.
I hope it’s not a tech monster. We really need simple, affordable, reliable trucks. Should be able to get a base model with 4x4 reasonably equipped in the low 30s. A miracle would be high 20s. But would love something like a base truck with full time 4wd and triple locker, skids, proper ground clearance and off road tires, standard LED lighting, and a simple interior. Hoping for a NA v6 or diesel but I bet it will be a turbo 4.
The question that I have is what is the size? I remember being excited about the Jeep Renegade only to find out that it was the size of a Mini Cooper. Is this gonna be the same size as the Ford Maverick? Because if it is......NEXT
Looks cool, but then you see the goofy front grill and headlights. Hopefully it will be built like an actual truck, and not one of these cross-overs masquerading as a truck.

Kia has a lot of experience with military trucks, so its pickups are also expected to be Insane items.
Is it named after the Australian state of Tasmania?
Yes

The SUV you're talking about is already being made by KIA. It's called the "Mohave."

Exciting ❤
We're just as excited as you are! ❤️
Nice!😊
So no physical locking diff. Only e diff
I wish Kia would make the Kia Tasman seats made of linen and jute.
Kia Tasman
If they want off-road cred, they need to speak to the aftermarket companies like ARB, OVS, and others.
Ev?

Probably 2.5 turbo hybrid 350PS + 8AT
Impressive
Glad you enjoyed it!
Euro4? 5?? engine??
I wish Kia would produce a remote control Kia Tasman toy model.
I wish Kia would build a real SUV based on the Kia Tasman chassis.
Boxy flat face Ute built for the US market
Needs a v6
Do not add a DCT OR CVT engine…DO NOT

가격이 문제다.
렉스턴칸보다 비싸겠지만,가격차가 많이 나면 오히려 렉스턴스포츠칸이 약이 될수도 있다.
최고가가 5천5백만원이 넘지 말길~~
Kia Tasman quality is better than Rexton
This is gotta be kia's first time creating a pickup
There are a lot of military pickups
KIA originally started out as a company that made military trucks like Oshkosh. For 30 years, their main source of income was pickup trucks. Hahaha.
It's the most failed product and strongly demands the dismissal of the designer and CEO!!!!!!
The company always does a horrible job promoting anything.
well done 干的漂亮🎉
Thank you 😎
