I've got the same rig, I bought it used a few years ago. Built in 1997 and still has a lot of life left in her. I've taken it on the Rouge, the Yampa and a few runs on the SF American. I'm primarily a whitewater kayaker, this rig blurs the line between rafting and kayaking, so maneuverable!

Looking at trading my aluminum drift boat for a raft. Can you do a follow up with what other rafts you have used, the differences, and why you like the Aire better?

What river are you testing the boat on?

Sweet setup! Thanks for posting. I'm looking at setting up a similar rig up here in Golden BC for fishing out of. 2 questions:
1.) Is the floor a drop-stictch or I-Beam design? Wondering how it would feel to stand up with a thigh-brace...
2.) Where did you get this from? is there a canadian dealer/rep?
    Happy fishing!

Hi Nick, I'm not sure what the floor design is. It's comfortable to stand up in and probably nice with a thigh brace if casting off the boy. It's not a super hard floor, even fully inflated, it has a bit of give. I just dealt directly with Aire, they were great to deal with, made the process super easy. Maybe Western Canoe and Kayak has them, they're in Abbotsford and have great customer service as well. Hope this helps, cheers.

So basically this is best left inflated for as long as possible? Have to lace and unlace each time? Nice looking raft, but the lacing might get old.

You lace the floor and leave it

Just have to lace the floor in once. The floor is made of a cell and a bladder. There are two different floor options the Aire offers when you order. The floor we have is a regular floor, very happy with it.

Nice review. It looks like you loaded it in the truck solo ok. How about solo carrying the raft to and from the river?

Solo load isn't a problem. If you get the boat in on an angle and then drop it in it works best. Fits snuggly. You can't carry the raft, but you can drag it short distances. We welded a boat buggy for it, it is what we use if we're moving it longer distances. If it is being carried two people can do it, but better with three.

Sounds like it will be too heavy then. I want 2 person raft that I can carry or drag on solo trips. Maybe D Scadden is better but the overall reviews are crappy. Are you still happy with your Assault?

@@bradholditch9577 Yeah I like my Assault, I've had it for a few years, held up well. If you're looking for a boat that is easy to move and can get you from A to B then the Scadden is a good option.
