I am taking lessons, and slowly getting better, but there is NO WAY I would ever learn on my own. It takes tons of practice and dedication.

You can actually learn on your own. Start with learning the basics. And, your instructor will fill in the rest. That's how I was. I got a basics book 10 years ago for guitar, and I learned scales, chords, and eventually improvisation. By the time I got to an in person guitar instructor - I was four years in. They helped me fix form mostly, and anything I didn't know in theory - they chimed in. I would then go on to being a better guitarist, but also teaching myself how to play piano because I knew what to look for. It's cool to be self taught, but sometimes having someone weigh in saves you time. That first year before I even bought a basics book was rough, but even after I bought the book and could read music - I didn't have a full understanding.

This is a fabulous story not just of his prodigious talent but also the love between a caring father and his son. Dad provided the space and encouragement for his boy to grow. This is just as touching as Isaiah's talent. And what's with the "lost" nonsense? He was NEVER lost. His talent was UNDISCOVERED, Big difference.

What a wonderful story. As a self taught hack ear piano player myself - this inspires me. I can only dream of tickling the ivories like this wonderful young man does. This guys is clearly a natural! It does not surprise me that he’s a Berklee guy now. Among the best of the best!

Isaiah Hill, have you heard of Darrius Simmons, he's a child prodigy as well who is a writer and composer , self taught pianist. You both should get together and do a concert. Awesome just Awesome. "A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men." - Proverbs 18:16

E Mack thank you for your comment!!! You are 100% correct, Isaiah wasn't a "lost" young man. Isaiah is my son. He has always been an intelligent young man. He really wish that they did not put that label on him,. Thank you for your words, truly appreciated.

Terrible voice over and commentary. Isaiah seems like a brilliant lad but this is a dreadful video. ‘Lost!’ ‘God given talent,’ please! Yes he has some serious talent but he also worked extremely hard. Isaiah, the very best of luck to you. I hope you keep enjoying everything that music brings to your life.

Great Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I would love your opinion. Have you ever tried - Riddleagan Possessing Piano Remedy (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a good exclusive product for learning how to play the piano easily without the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cooworker got amazing results with it.
