I have an NCX1200R for 13 years now, which is the pre facelift version of this guitar. It’s aged very well and it’s always the guitar I reach for when I want to play, the Atmosfeel pickup is an improvement over the old pickups
Thank you Nico. I have found sound a little bitt dull for my needs, but build quality is as always with Yamaha excellent. New Atmosfeel is ok too, no noise or else (as with terrible "Fishman Presys Blend") , but also not much different sound possibilities. That is just my opinion. I am sure that for some styles of playing this could be the right one.
Hey Goran, nice review. I´m curious: did you find some noise issues coming from the battery compartment? I´ve seen a couple reviews on YT regarding that issue in the NCX5 (more or less the same guitar, but Japan made). They say it´s some kind of a "something loose, under the saddle area, making noise in certain positions of the guitar" thing.
Hi Gustavo, that depends what style you are playing. Cordoba is better for flamenco, and Yamaha is better for classical music. Yamaha has better preamp and wood and comes with case.@@gustavoloebel

@@GoransMusicCircle I disagree, I own this beauty and not dull at all. Have you tried new strings? I use a nylon but a carbon on the G string(common dull string on all guitars).
@@jadonx I haven't try that yet. Well as I wrote before it is very subjective to discuss sound. I found sound dull, because for my needs I prefer brighter sounding guitars, as Flamenco guitars for example. Other strings can change a sound little bit, but most of the sound comes from wood and shape of the guitar. Every wood type has its sound color. Still NCX3 is great guitar. Is there a certain loss of warmth , almost a sharpness of string sound, I can see the use of electronics within a classical, but being a purist that is I,,,will go au naturel cedar and only the wood speaking.
@@Nic1963D sorry, there are several differences. NCX1200r all solid (sitka top/rosewood back and sides) NX only has a solid top and the back and sides are walnut plywood. NCX has tuner NX does not have tuner NCX has three-band equalizer NX bass and treble equalizer in one button NCX has no piezzo NCX in piezo I particularly prefer the NCX. I think there was a good intention to improve the NCX sound with NX but it got in the way. The result, for me, the NX is a guitar with a good intention but a cheap achievement.
@@tom5216 Ok, my mistake, You're right, I read about it and really the back and sides are solid walnut. It could be that being solid improves the quality. However, walnut is not a good wood for guitars. When Yamaha starts to manufacture in walnut the same series it used Indian rosewood or maple, shows that quality is falling. If you look at the differences between NCX and NX, you will see that there are many involutions. Or do you think the lower price is because they love you?
I have one with the spruce top and it was a bit "bright" for me with the stock Yamaha strings. I replaced them with the D'Adario EJ45, however it remained bright to me, for a while. After two weeks the strings either matured or the Spruce top settled in and now mine sounds as good as Goran's does. I have another Yamaha a NCX1C, this one's little brother with a cedar top and the same strings improved it as well.

Thanks Angel, no I didn't hear any noise, but with CORDOBA GK Studio I had that problem

Is the reverb from Atmosfeel or from a mixer? I cannot see to set it from guitar, so I guess it's from other equipment.
Atmosfeel has no Reverb. It is Plugin 8:11 Gorans Original Score with REVERB
