Yay!!!! I knew I recognized that accent ! Hehehe Greetings from Savannah. I saw your Ga car tag briefly in the video . I’m a new subscriber and looking forward to your travels. 😎
I'm a new subscriber after seeing you on butterfly tracks video in quartzsite! I'm looking forward to watching your videos. Have fun out there. Wyoming!
Wow lots to learn with using your generator. I'm new to all of this. I'll be buying a portable solar panel that I can use with my 700 watt Bluetti. I do have a Coleman electric refrigerator that I can use 12 volt plug. I also have a 300 watt Jackery that I use to power my Max fan. Thanks for sharing this information.
In my 20's I lived in a tent and my car for several months. I sure didn't know what I was doing back then. Don't need to do full time because my house payment is only $396.00 a month including taxes and homeowners insurance but can see myself doing this lifestyle at least part time after I retire.
@@thisvanlifeofmine- I now work remotely from home and take care of my wife after she had a stroke three years ago during a heart bypass operation. We've been married 35 years, she was born in 1946 and me 1964. My freedom to travel will have to be in the future. Really admire your strength.
I see you are most likely based out of the East Coast. If you ever make the trip out west... Bob Wells runs a 501c3 nonprofit that helps nomads. They do a meetup in Quartzite and I believe in Pahrump and volunteers help outfit people with solar at little or no cost. Plus the connections you can make really help out the entire community. Good luck to you. Just found this video of you!!!
Interesting. Although I can't stand generator noise even if it would be for me. Thx for the consideration for not wanting to disturb others. Those huge homes on wheels could learn from you for sure 🙂 (Although they should just stay home in their home without wheels... but I digress.) Personally, I would opt for solar panels - the ones that don't need full sun...there's different kinds out there it seems. BTW - did I see you in the Butterfly tracks video re: Mt Washington? I thought I saw a familiar face? Have a great day! 🙂
This one is not bad noisy, close the door and can barely hear it. I'm looking into solar panels for my batteries so I don't have to have the generator to charge them, will keep the generator for when I need AC though. Yes I was on Mt Washington in the Butterfly video. I also did a video of that day, go check it out😁 Thanks for watching, I appreciate you❤️
Get a hybrid and you don't have to deal with the generator. Less space sure but you can rent a storage unit and empty the car giving you more space remotely. If you carry less you get more space save fuel , more stealthy and drive less. Imagine driving a wagon that is much lighter and is more comfortable. You can get down the road at a more consistent clip. Tires bought at WMT because you get insurance on them. When time to rotate you can get that done WMT. Slow leak, they repair that too.
You're Welcome. I had two shore power plugs put in. One in the back that is hooked to the AC unit. The other one is hooked to a power strip inside the door and when it's plugged in that is how I charge my solar batteries when we don't have enough sun for the solar panels to charge me up. Hope this helps if you need additional info feel free to ask 😃
I bought 4 bags but only used 3.5 bags. It's pricey but well worth it. They have a chart on their website and a video to help you determine how much you will need. So easy to work with. Glad I went that route 😁
They want too much for campsites. My power bill at home hasn't gone over $50 325kwh is the most thus far this summer. I'm in my runaway camper 4*8' I have a chest freezer and a full size refrigerator in the house. Also have lights that are on 24/7.
It needs 2200 watts just to start it up. So I wouldn't get much run time after it drained the battery practically to start it. I started out with Jackery's and I'm phasing them out because of the long charge time. Plus they did not last for me. This is my 2nd 500 and I've had the 1500. I'm done with Jackery's.
@@thisvanlifeofmine oh ok, and pardon the misspellings in my text! I was talk texting and should have spell checked, ugh! happy trails and tailwinds for you😌
Thank you! Just tired of the same ole routine and I wanted to travel. Wasn't feasible to keep house and have money for traveling also so I sold the house.
🥵 Heat index here is 112. If this is what hell is like, I'm changin' my ways.....LOL Seriously, I'm stuck in the house after 9 am. It seems to be getting warmer in New England , much more than when I lived there. Mona, I'm looking for a Ford van, too. If you don't mind the question, did you have any problems registering it as your private vehicle ? I'm in another state than you, but can't get a straight answer from the DMV. Thanks
🥵 too hot! I bought it , registered it and got insurance on it. None of them know I live in it. It's registered in GA. I did not tell them I converted it. At the time I registered and insured it I had not converted it yet. Are you asking about registering it as a RV?
@@thisvanlifeofmine No, just want to register it as my personal vehicle and not commercial like I believe they all are coming from the dealer. I don't plan on using it for business, just as a camper. Thanks for the info.
I'm 66 and have not traveled yet except one trip to Florida. I'm putting on new springs or buying a promaster. Wonderful to see people my age doing this
I normally chain it to my trailer hitch, I have only set it out in a few certain areas that I felt it was safe to leave out unchained. But you never know huh 🤣
Make sure you set your generator farther from your van so you don't have fumes going into your van. They can be deadly.
Yes I do not run it at night while in the van, I have air circulating when it is running so all is good. Thanks ❤️
Is it not solar?
@@NoCarNancy The generator is gas powered, they do not make solar that will have enough power to run a AC.

So few months you need ac. I live in Louisiana you're going to use ac 50% of the year.
I plan on going north in the summer and south in the winter so I want need it much that way.

It has a heat strip for a low heat setting only. I don't think it's considered a heat pump though. Thanks for watching I appreciate you ❤️
