    I was surprised by your video Rodrigo. It was really good! You added a lot of detail and made Greece sound really nice. My partner and I retired (from the US) and are looking at Greece for full time living. As gay retirees would we face any difficulties (more than any place else)in your opinion? Thank you!

      Hey mate. Happy to be of help. I don't really know much about Greece's cultural approach towards gay people. All I know is that Greece is the only Orthodox country that has legalised same sex marriage. That can give you some cues. All the best.

    affordable prices? hehe.
    having lived in Melbourne, i'd say you're right.
    having also lived in Berlin, i'd say you're wrong.
    as for safety, apart from Athens, the rest of Greece is generally safe.
    if you want to feel extra safe, go to Crete and start a firearm collection to fit in.
    worst thing in Greece? bad roads. unless you like the feel of an off-road adventure, but on tarmac.

    Ok, Greece is cheap for digital nomads, so cheaper rents than in Sidney as you mention…
    But: for the locals the rents are rising and the living in Greece will be unaffordable for the Greeks when „rich“ foreigners took the apartments and houses.
    Please stay in your own country.
    And by the way: you live in Greece snd work online. Do you pay any taxes?

    • @eleniasimop
      @eleniasimop 4 місяці тому +3

      Public health system has problems but you won't have any problems visiting private doctors etc. They are
      really well trained, much more affordable than in other European countries and many of them.

      I can't speak for Crete, but I have been living in Greece for 6 months and I've seen a few doctors during this time. The service has been absolutely impeccable. They took all the time in the world explaining every facet of their diagnosis and treatment. Such a far cry from the dismissive system in Canada where I came from. The cost for an almost one hour consultation with a urologist, including ultrasound was 70 Euros, which I found obscenely cheap. I live on a relatively unknown island, not on the well-trodden tourist track. The locals do complain about a lack of some medical specialists and of course, if you need major medical treatment you'll have to go to Athens or Thessaloniki, but that's the case everywhere in the world for people who live far from major urban centers. But, major medical emergencies aside, I've found medical care to be very accessible - there's even an MRI diagnostic centre here - and the doctors are highly competent professionals and cheaper to consult than plumbers in most countries of the world. Pretty much all of them speak English by the way.

    Came across the video by accident. Most of what it says is a myth for tourists. Greece is far away of being attractive for living. For tourism only it’s ok. One million highly educated Greeks who left the country in the past 10 years, and who don’t plan to return, know better. Cheers my friend….

      I get your point, Point. I don't work in Greece. I work online and my business is elsewhere. What my wife and I make is more than enough to have a good roof over our heads and decent fresh food on our table. Greece is not for everyone. Neither is any country in the world. Many people don't appreciate the simple things in life, and others never dare to step out of their comfort zones, even when their own govt's are systematically ruining them. Blessings from sunny Greece.
