  • A scientist has developed a machine that can split a distant planet in two, then drag half of it within reach of Earth so we can mine its resources. The problem is, he has to steal five of the largest diamonds in the world to power it. Some people including the super friends are taking exception to that.

    Marvin said, "Zonkers!"
This episode is brought to you by Lincoln Snacks, makers of "Screaming Yellow Zonkers".

Millionaire "Howard Small"? Not Howard "Huge"?
I wonder if Small was ever involved with Jane Tussle.

Sure, he was. He directed her in the movie, "The In-law".

So, he has practical matter teleportation, a FTL spaceship (with enough fuel to get there and back in a few hours), a telescope that would make Hubble look like it came from a box of Crackerjacks, and anti-gravity.... and his goal is to build the little brother of the Death Star.
I'll just go with matter teleportation. Sure, it was limited to a pretty short range and a pretty small object, but as it had no problem going through objects (including a vault). I'm not a doctor, but I have to wonder if some of those inoperable tumors just found a way to be removed. I see a Nobel Prize for physics and medicine just on that.
It's unknown if the range and size of the teleported object can be increased, but it has the potential to revolutionize everything from mining to shipping.
On a side note, I wonder how the Kents got the spaceship on the back of their truck (great tie-down job and all). I would have to guess that it depends on the age of Clark at the time. If he's enough of a toddler, he could do it himself, but if he's still an infant, I'm going go with the resourcefulness of farmers of that era.

This is silver age Supes. Super-Baby (yes Clark called himself that when he was a toddler) was three when he arrived on Earth after leaving Krypton, he had more than enough time to know about Krypton and know Jor-El and Lara.

I'm sure that there would be a lot of people who would take an extremely keen interest in the FTL drive... and also that prototype transporter beam....

I am glad you played a lot of the opening theme that was one of the most energetic and coolest horn openings and action themes of any TV cartoon. Just like many of their other Saturday morning shows the problem is they didn't know how to give one set of music to one show you would hear those horns and other action shows and it will water them down here

18:43 Maybe it's one of those long-distance SpaceHound bus stations, complete with ticket booths/machines.

A couple of surprising parts, of this episode. Mentioning Dick Grayson's origin, on a Saturday morning cartoon. It wasn't until much later, in the show's run, that we got a retelling, of the Waynes being killed. And, even though Marvin and Wendy are a part of the team, Clark just letting them in, on his secret identity is a little shocking.

Marvin and Wendy are JLA publicists...y'know the job Lucas "Snapper" Carr used to have? They're segues between Carr and Catherine Cobert.
      Furthermore...considering their last names....
Marvin White is the "Wonder Lad" of the show, he's fully aware of the dual Diana Prince situation...since Diana's double's his mom.
Wendy Harris is the niece of Harvey Harris who deduced Batman's identity back when Batman was briefly Robin. Wendy probably deduced similar.
If Wonder Woman trusts a *boy* with her secret identity...that says more than enough for Superman.
On the off chance he needed a second opinion? Well Batman trusting anybody is also a good thing.

“Borrow”, huh? Why don't they just ask to borrow the diamonds? Or come up with enough money to buy them, use them, and once they serve their intended purpose, give them NEW exhibits, saying something like, "These diamonds helped us gain a much needed refill on resources for the planet."?

This, the Flash episode and when they were shrunk were my favorite episodes. This episode was just like the giant-sized comicbook from the early 70s.

To Irving, I just want to say I enjoy checking out your videos, respectively when you review classic superhero shows (Especially if it's DC Comics based), because they're series I like checking out.
The fact that Season 1 only had a couple voice actors not only helped understand who's playing who just by the sound of their voice, but made me imagine the Super Friends doing dual roles with the characters with the same voice actor as them. Respectively during the origin of Superman sequence, you can just imagine Batman and Wonder Woman playing Jonathan and Martha Kent, Robin and Wendy as Jor-El and Lara, and Aquaman and Wonder Woman masquerading as that orphanage doctor and nurse, plus earlier in the episode, Superman was doing double duty with being that carny.
But I would like to ask is when you're doing the next season a.k.a "The All-New Super Friends Hour", will you also check out the PSA segments with Superman, Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman sharing safety* and health^^ tips, do decoder^ games for a word related to the third segment` of each episode of the season, and demonstrate magic tricks or show how to make crafts**?
*= Safety shorts shown before the Wonder Twins segment
^= First part of decoder before, second part in the middle of the third segment, and solution after the ending.
`= Third segment being the longer adventure with the main 5 heroes and the Wonder Twins working together
**=Occur before and in the middle of the fourth segment where characters like Green Lantern, Atom, and the original ethnic superheroes make an appearance to help out one, or two in case of Batman and Robin, of the heroes
^^= Health shorts shown after the fourth segment

That was the silver age origin...I wonder how he would have told Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Hawkman and Hawkwoman, Aquaman and Flash's origins.
