@@nylah12304 we chose to follow him the moment we chose salvation but it doesn’t mean the work is done and we are perfect. It’s not a smooth road to sanctity. There are many bumps and bruises along the way. Sometimes it can take years to get rid of sin, like if you have a deep rooted addiction. Other sins are not as difficult to walk away from. For example someone with a proclivity to alcoholism vs someone who doesn’t. Caffeine is an addiction too. If you need it before your time with God in the morning then doesn’t it make that your idol? I don’t drink alcohol I’m not addicted to caffeine but I can’t seem to beat my smoking habit for the life of me. It’s a major stronghold bc it’s been part of my life for 30 years. I hope one day I can kick this habit for good. God knows our weaknesses, hearts, and ultimate desires and he is long suffering.

Good work and bad work and other things have no part in salvation which mean good work cannot save you from hell fire and good work cannot sent you to hell fire. bad works cannot save you from hell fire and bad work cannot sent you to hell fire. Other things cannot save you from hell fire and other things cannot sent you to hell fire. The only thing that sent human to go to hell fire is unbelieving and the only thing that save human from hell fire is believing that The Highest God of the highest gods name Jesus was crucified and bore the sins of human all over the world in his own body on the cross and Jesus shed his blood on the cross to wash the sins of human all over the world away and Jesus suffer and died on the cross to clean human sins all over the world and Jesus was buried and Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. by grace through FAITH (Ephesians 2:8), and FAITH without works is dead (James 2:26), Work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Phillipians 2:12). His grace is his graciousness to come to die for our sins paying the penalty and putting down the Law of Sin and death. We still have to obey.
@@Mark.Merritt-Asher I mean we are to strive for perfection (maturing in CHRIST), choosing to grow and evolve in HIM daily, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We are not simply saved by doing what we say is good or right though. It is literally impossible for people to do and say everything right. That's why JESUS came to die on the cross for our sins. And GOD knows if someone have a pure heart and/or pure/right intentions towards HIM. For only the pure in heart shall see GOD. The religious spirit will try to convince you that you are saved and righteous when you don't engage in certain sins, but that's not accurate. We will genuinely fall short one way or another, pretty much everyday of our lives. Because backbiting, gossiping, being lazy, prideful, arrogant, egotistical, lustful, and so on and so forth are sins as well. And MANY people are influenced by these spirits, and are bound by them daily. So, you can't just assume it's by doing quote/unquote good/nice things. If that was the case, even an atheist would have eternal life and go to heaven. Because they can be a nice/sweet acting person. That is not Biblically accurate, it's a form of false teachings/doctrine.
@@Mark.Merritt-Asher Sometimes the works GOD is speaking of is us choosing to operate by and in faith, fasting, prayer, speaking and trusting HIS word, when we are led by the spirit of GOD to do so, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It's NOT the works that people tend to think of or speak about or whatever the case maybe.

Now I didn't mean to have dispute for we are both members of the church and our intentions centered toward understanding the Word. I think the verse Markus quoted says Faith cooperating with Works, and Works as a form of response to God's grace, not to amount the grace/earn the grace for we can never earn it ofcourse. Markus didn't say it is by our works alone that saves us, but by believing (Faith) accepting the grace of Jesus' sacrifice, and responding to the grace with graceful works also.

I think what we're only trying to avoid here is people justifying their sins and falling short/backsliding with the idea that it is okay to sin after receiving the salvation "for we are already perfected anyways", and there's no need to repent and to do good or be good.

If you can lose your salvation, then I'm lost. Then Christ's death on the cross wasn't sufficient then. The christians that do fall away, we're never saved in the first place. They are false converts. Fans not followers.
His sacrifice was sufficient. Loosing one’s salvation has more to do with what the person decides to do. It is mainly if you decide to no longer believe in God and/or if you give yourself over to living an intentional life of sin.
You will be fine if you keep believing in Him and living a life that is pleasing in His sight, through the mistakes and all. ❤️

Jesus suffered, died, and rose from death to purchase my salvation, and I could never add one ounce of merit to that. It's not an unconditional salvation, though. The condition is faith in Jesus. If there's no evidence of a changed life, then there's no salvation (James said faith without works is dead). So I am saved by grace through faith. I chose to receive that grace forty-one years ago. It was a gift received by faith. At the moment I trusted Jesus, all of my past sins were forgiven. I couldn't have chosen to trust him if God had not drawn me by his Spirit, but it still was my free will that decided to receive him. I still have free will. And so do you. So choose, by the grace of God, to follow Jesus today, and tomorrow, and every day until he returns.

If this was true the what Jesus did on the cross would be for nothing . He took all our sons past, present and future. If we are truly saved we cannot lose this gift of Grace , that would be works , trying to keep living up to the level of being saved & not His grace. if we are truly saved we cannot lose that gift .

Also, it says in Ephesians that Christians are SEALED until the day of redemption. A seal is a guaranteed promise.
If a Christian can become unsealed, then that promise was a lie. And God cannot lie.
May someone please pray for me. I’ve backslidden for so many months and I’ve been stubborn and have not repented when he kept giving me chances. I missed the last opportunity too he showed me and now I am more terrified than ever. I want that fire and love back that passion. But I keep doing the same things I’m so scared of him leaving me and I don’t wanna disobey anymore. Lord have mercy on me and all of us😞

Thank you pastor Vlad!! Jesus said that his sheep hear his voice, so his sheep will know that your message is truth because they have ears to hear and Spirit of Truth in them. Once saved always saved is very dangerous doctrine, doesn't motivate new believers to live right. They think they can live how they want because they are sealed
I keep slipping up. Have I gone too far? I want to change. I feel like I’ve failed God one too many times. I know his grace is enough and I always run back to him but I keep doing it. I want to put an need to this cycle.
Please pray for me , I’ve backslidden so many times as well. I’ve done the same things over and over and haven’t truly turned from them. I need the Lords mercy yet again!

Being saved, justification is completely a work only of God. As I'm sure you'd be aware until glorification we constantly strive with help of the Holy Spirit in being sanctified.
Now Jesus plainly states,
All the Father give,
All the sheep will hear the call,
Jesus will cast none out.
This by no means absolved us in any way to bearing fruit, expected reasonable service and conduct, on the contrary it should bring us closer to God and wanting to serve.
But we are passive and God is Active in our salvation, lest any shall boast.
So if saved, chosen by the Father, accepted by Jesus, and by no means cast out any that the Father gave.

These questions should not be discussed in front of new Christians, it displays a lack of knowledge really.
We can't reconcile in our human mind that the things impossible for man are possible for God.
The one thing the reformers got right, got us all was salvation.

That's what pastor Vlad is saying, those who strive and practice those things, then your election is sure. But those who don't practice or strive and think they can live in sin and be saved, backsliders eventially are cut off. Apostasy are those who fall from truth. God knows all things,he already knows who will be saved at the end but we don't. God's view- he knows his sheep but Bible tells us that our view-God so loved the world that he gave his only son so we take gospel to the world. Once saved always saved is very dangerous doctrine it doesn't motivate new believers to get right with God and to live right. I can do what I want- my election is sure

I am reading your posts. Thank you. Many of us, as well as so many others, need to keep these always in remembrance.
I just have one question.
John says that no one born of God keeps on sinning.
No. One.
Is he lying?
Because if he isnt , then that means that no one who has been truly saved and born again and been born of God will not keep on sinning and so how would they lose salvation? That would mean they would keep on sinning.
But isn’t it when people say that a truly born again Christian with the Holy Spirit leading them can lose salvation the claim that no one born of God keeps on sinning is would be a lie.
Sure, someone who keeps on sinning is definitely in danger. But will it really come so far that they would lose their salvation?
Would a true born again Christian who lives in a surrender to God and has their HEARTS and MINDS renewed and have the Holy Spirit, who have God making them keep his commandments ( Ezekiel ) really even WANT to sin?
I think God changes our hearts in a way and disciplines us as soon as He can so that we would never even WANT to sin or much less keep on sinning.
I think that is why Peter can say in 1 Peter that the audience is born again, that God will keep them by faith through his power. That’s why He can be so sure, YOU WILL BE SAVED! Because they are truly born again.
Or that’s why Paul can say in Ephesians you are sealed by the Holy Spirit and He is your guarantee for the inheritance. That’s why Jude can say God can keep you. If God can keep us then why would He not if He wants us not to perish?
I think that’s why Paul can say in Romans 8 nothing can separate us from God‘s love.
I think that’s why Paul can be confident in Philippians 1:6 that God will finish his work.
Jesus is the Author and finisher of faith. God calls the justified! Why would God save one truly and adopt Him and then let Him lose his adaption? Would God not have a plan?
I think that’s why Jesus can say the Holy Spirit will be with us FOREVER, that His sheep will never perish and no one will snatch them out of His Fathers hand.
But at the same time, you’re right. There is many verses that seem to show a Christian can lose salvation.

Just means they live in a constant state of repentance and when they do sin they repent and the blood covers it.

If you turn your back on God then you end up a reprobate and go to hell.
If you go back to your old life after being born again and choose your own path instead of God then you'll spend eternity separated from God.
If you want to live separated from God then you will spend eternity separated from God.
Or you can choose to walk the path God has chosen and walk with Him (easier said than done), turn from your sins and be moulded by the Holy Spirit, all the while whatever sin you do commit repent of them and cover yourself in the blood which is your attonment.

If someone leaves the faith, they were never truly saved to begin with.

If our future sins are not forgiven, then two things must happen: 1) when we sin in the future, we revert to an unforgiven state, meaning we lose our salvation and must be saved again, and 2) Christ must die again to cover the sins we’ve committed since His last death. Neither of these scenarios is biblical. We are kept by God, and thus our salvation is secure (John 10:28-30); and Christ died “once for all” (Hebrews 10:10; cf. Hebrews 7:25).
Thank you and amen. This has been a factor in what it is that I take in.many are on the wrong path of believing that they can not lose their salvation and according to the word of God that is a dangerous belief and that doesn't sit well with my spirit. Praying for those who are being misled into the once saved always saved doctrine. Turn from this false doctrine and turn to the word of God in Jesus name amen.

I've struggled with this too. A pastor once told me that a true apostate wouldn't CARE because they no longer believe....if they ever truly believed in the first place. If you're worried, that's the Holy Spirit and Jesus calling. It's not too late.

I think the issue is that OSAS is to say that if you re genuine in your conversion God will always be on your part to strengthen you to empower you over the devil because he is the real enemy of our salvation. So I agree about perseverance but not because I have to mantain my salvation with just not sinning but to stay firm in my faith in Christ as my righteousness during the attacks of the devil all my life long. I think then not sinning have to be an issue of me wanting to be conformed to the image of the son and not give place to the devil and it has not to be attached to the fear of losing salvation. We chose to follow him the moment we chose salvation but it doesn’t mean the work is done and we are totally perfect. It’s not a smooth road to sanctity. There are many bumps and bruises along the way. Some sins are easier to walk away from than others. Sometimes it can take years to get rid of sin, like if you have a deep rooted addiction or struggling with deep rooted childhood trauma. Someone with a proclivity to alcoholism vs someone who doesn’t will have a harder time walking away. It could be years of falling and getting up. I don’t drink alcohol and I’m not addicted to caffeine but I can’t seem to beat my smoking habit for the life of me. It’s a major stronghold bc it’s been part of my life for 30 years. Caffeine has too but it was much easier to quit than smoking. Even when I was walking in total obedience and quit smoking for 4 years, I still suffered from anxiety/panic attacks which I’ve had since childhood. I think the smoking is connected to my anxiety. I don’t know where the panic attacks come from since it’s not the kind that is rooted in fear. I have a healthy sense of fear, nothing abnormal. I’ve tried every nicotine aide fasted prayed. I’m fact when I fast, I smoke more. I really hope one day I can kick this habit for good bc I hate it. And before you start judging, if you can’t function without caffeine that is your idol too. If you’re addicted to social media food or junk food that’s your idol. My point is no one will ever be perfect and everyone’s weaknesses and strengths vary. God understands that. He knows our hearts and ultimate desires and he is long-suffering. Stop beating yourself up. Life is hard enough. We shouldn’t be driven by the fear of losing our salvation. We should be driven by our love for God and desire to be closer to Him.

Impossible to lose your salvation
It is a race of endurance, there is a spiritual war going on not just one battle. We must not compromise the word of God. We need the full Gospel which includes angels, demons, Heaven and hell and the only correct path is Jesus Christ. Once saved always saved is a lie from the pit. Saying you could lose your salvation is saying the blood of Christ isn't sufficient enough. There's a corinthian believer who was willfully spinning and Paul said that he basically died young to save his soul. If we could turn away God would know that before we are even saved so why save us in the first place?

A seal was a mark of identification. Here's the verse you're citing:
Ephesians 4:30
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
You were sealed _for_ that day, not _until_ that day.
A few paraphrases twist that verse and try to make it mean _until,_ but real translations render it _for_ that day.

REMEMBER only way to repent and be saved by Christ Acts 11:14-18, Luke 11:9-13, Zeph 3:9/Acts 2:4 and Heb 12:23. Just follow only the original gospel tradition teaching not different churches but Jesus will guide and teach you to the end John 10:1-6,11-16, Acts4:12 and 1 John 2:24-25!

Jesus died for our sins because God is a just God so he paid for it with the blood of his own son. Now that that’s been done we are to be holy and reborn in Christ…we are not perfect but with Christ we should be getting better and better. Just because he died for our sins does not mean we can go to heaven if we continue to live in sin. The Bible says it’s better that a person never knows the grace of God then to know and go back his old ways.

I have been looking for the truth about this. If we could lose our salvation then everyone who ever lived would be in hell. God looks at every sin equally. Our sinful thoughts are deemed sinful as well. Those who preach we can lose salvation have lost it as well. And if we are to repent after every sin, how would you keep track of all the sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit since the Bible states we have no excuse? Are you claiming you have never sinned or live a 100% sin free life? Think about how many times you had a thought not becoming of God. You are sinning! Please think about how the Bible describes sin and determine if anyone alive could keep salvation if we could lose it. The better question is are you truly saved, are you a follower of Jesus? Since no one will ever be sinless besides God, and the Bible says those who fall away cannot be saved again and we shouldn’t even pray for those who fall away; how do you propose we humans who sin everyday maintain salvation? There is not a man alive who has the ability to maintain his salvation if we can lose it. Look up all the sins in the Bible and tell me you have not committed a single one after accepting Jesus. Consider the implications of a salvation that could be lost, if it were true we are all doomed to HELL.
