Definitely, this explained why South Africa pulled an upset victory over USA and the other delegates as she came into the top 5 in fourth place. Miss Sweden was in second place and after her painful response to her question, she ended up in 5th. Colombia, was ranked 5th, gave the second best answer and that pushed her to 3rd place. USA's beauty kept her in 2nd as her response was just too short and succinct.

Desafirtunadamente el jurado elimino a Miss Costa Rica Maribel Fernandez del grupo de las 12 semifinalistas y solo le otorgaron el premio de miss Fotigenica, pero en el miss Mundo en noviembre de ese año fue justo al clasificarla en las 15 semifinalistas y despues en las 7 finalistas. Maribel Fernandez incursiono en el Cine y Television y resulto una actriz muy famosa.

I am talking about everything in general and how she performed it. Not other details outside of the competition...which makes my statement valid. I didn't know these details. Miss Colombia wasn't that great because what determines your make or break moment is the final question and her answer wasn't great. SA's deserved the credibility and her answer made her win. If she didn't win, she didn't win get over it.
