    It seems break away countries of USSR are very friendly. People are very hospitable. Hats off to you for travelling on your own. Great video

    Lovely video Raksha. Quite an adventure indeed! Can you tell me what's the distance or time taken to drive to the homestay where you stayed from Penjikent? Planning a trip later this year.

      In Central Asia, most people speak Russian because they were part of the Soviet Union. I learned a few basic Russian words so that I could communicate a bit. It was still hard considering most people here don't speak English

      @@TheRovingHeart Центральная Азия не была в советской оккупации. Центральная Азия была частью СССР, как и Россия. Говорить что Центральная Азия была в советской оккупации это тоже самое что сказать что индийский штат Гуджарат находится в индийской оккупации, или что американский штат Флорида находится в американской оккупации. В советской оккупации был Афганистан, в период 1979 - 1989, но не Центральная Азия. Центральная Азия была неотъемлемой частью СССР, как например индийские штаты Махараштра, Гуджарат, Тамилнад являются неотъемлемыми частями Индии.
