There is no universe in which Lupe could find an angle that would sway public opinion in his favor. Kendrick has a very bulletproof career and a far greater resume than Lupe. There is a sweet spot and certain greats like dot and andre 3000 have found it. The “more digestible” claim is nuts. 3/4 albums Kendrick put out #1 complaint is that he’s too intellectual and his raps are too dense. Man got invited to perform at the Grammys and he did spoken poetry in a prison uniform. He consistently spits so fast his breath doesn’t have time to catch up with him. He made an album over free jazz. The three or four bops he’s put out are three or four songs out of 50. He’s not more digestible.

That said, in interviews, WAY TOO MANY knowledgeable artists have Lupe in their top 5. From Ye, to Mo's Def. The industry knows who Lupe is, they just pretend Lupe doesn't exist. They don't want the smoke. I wouldn't be surprised if Lupe was a Ghost Writer.

Lupe likes to show everyone his lyrical intelligence on all his albums so every one can praise his smarts, but never underestimate a genius like Kendrick. Lupe has shown his whole hand. We don’t know how far Kdot’s range can reach. Everyone underestimated that Kendrick could make a hit diss record like Drake and he did, so don’t think all he does on albums is the best of his capabilities. Never underestimate the opponent. People will allow you to see what they want you to see. Lupe is emotional like Drake too so that could definitely work to his disadvantage.
