To me Oswald through the show is like.. He can fall and then rise, he's been through torture, his mother being killed, Fish being killed, his empire fall.. And then he still comes back. He's truly the reason I tune in and watch it. I truly like how they're telling the origins of these characters.
Interesting how Riddler once mentioned back in Season 2 of Gotham that "for some men love is a source of strength, but for you and I (talking to Penguin) it will always be our crippling weakness." And he was absolutely correct and it was the exact thing that drove their friendship apart from them.
Gotham is such a well written and acted show it's a shame it hardly gets any recognition. 100x better than the Marvel shit on Netflix that gets lots more press. The lush and detailed set designs alone are stunning to watch.

I love that Gotham may have accidentally ruined Penguin's chances of surviving another Batman film because we wouldn't accept him losing! Gotham has made it unmistakable clear that whilst he lives, in the end, Oswald always wins. If batman won and he was still alive, we'd all just be like "but what happened NEXT?!"
