Captain_Hat my opinion on it is I like John noble his voice is awesome by far my favorite I u can like whatever u want I won't judge its just my opinion like if u agree with Me people if u want though u don't haft 2 😄
John Noble really suited it. Scarecrows voice would sound different due to the tube in his throat in Arkham Knight. Plus his face is almost totally reconstructed so his voice would be deeper.
+MakaveliTheDon It was stated by random thugs that Scarecrow underwent facial reconstruction surgery following his mauling by Killer Croc at the end of Arkham Asylum, and that he most likely needed a respiratory bypass.
Well... Croc did screw him up pretty bad... You see his face? That's his real face, sewn together via surgery. That's literally the best they could do.
Its_only_martin I didn't like the boss fights in the game. Of course topping the Mr. Freeze fight would be hard, but not impossible. And also the two things you mentioned I didn't like. I thought the character was going to be someone you could go back into the previous games and see and say "Ohhh, so he is the one." but no. I also developed a different plot in my head for Scarecrow that I liked better.
I like the really subtle sounding Scarecrows as opposed to the crazy sounding ones. We already have two really crazy villains with Joker and Riddler. Scarecrow needs something different. John Noble and Jeffrey Combs are the best.
*My top 10 Scarecrows:* #10 Christopher S. Field #9 Corey Burton #8 Don Messick #7 Dee Bradley Baker #6 Jeffery Combs #5 Cillian Murphey #4 Brian T. Delaney #3 Dino Andrade #3 Henry Polic II #2 John Noble Honorable Mention: LordJazor #1 Robert Englund
Dino was an amazing cackling version of Scarecrow, and he's my personal favorite, as his sections in Asylum were absolutely terrifying and a thrill to experience. I'm fine with Noble's version for what it is, which is a more calm and calculating villain, but we already got that kind of main villain with Hugo Strange in City. And the whole switch-up of Scarecrow's character is just plain jarring and disrespectful. The Arkhamverse Scarecrow was already established, and fans like me had been anticipating his epic return with all the Easter eggs and clues in City, but the payoff for his return to the franchise was non-existent. No one in the game had any reaction to him coming back, so it was like his ambiguous death never even happened. And he didn't act or talk the same either, so really he was a whole new character that happened to also be called Scarecrow. I'm so happy Dino Andrade is back for Arkham Underworld. He finally gets to lend his amazing voice back to Scarecrow.
Of course he didn't talk the same because in universe his vocal cords had been damaged due to him being mauled by Croc and out of universe it was because of the voice actor change from Dino Andrade to John Noble. And he didn't act the same because he was more pissed off and ruthless and blamed Batman for what Croc did to him so he was determined to utterly break him and unmask him in front of the world before killing him. Apart from the speeches there were no similarities between Scarecrow in Knight and Strange in City. He wasn't a whole new character who just happened to be called Scarecrow. He was the same Scarecrow character. Hus character wasn't switched up. It was developed. No one in the game had any reaction to him coming back? What about the people he forced to evacuate Gotham? Andrade was a good Scarecrow but John Noble's is better.
Xehanort10 When I say that no one on the game reacted to him coming back, I don't mean that no one reacted at all. I mean that no one was surprised that he had survived his encounter with Croc. That whole ordeal was barely mentioned or acknowledged. And to be clear, I do like John Noble as Scarecrow. I just would have preferred him in some other Batman media, since Dino's version was already established in the Arkham universe. I get what Rocksteady was going for with him in Arkham Knight, and in many ways I really do enjoy it. But the whole "vocal chords damaged" thing? That was never told to us in the game. That's just what the fanbase (me included) has come up with since there's no real explanation. I don't see it as interesting character development. I see it as bad storytelling. If you enjoyed it though man, don't let me take that away from you. I just have my own opinion on this. And to me I think Dino Andrade got kinda screwed over in this whole thing. And that's just stupid.
The inconsistencies with the Arkhamverse Scarecrow are a bit weird but I think John Noble o his own could make for a fantastic Scarecrow voice actor outside of the Arkham verse
Jeffrey Combs and John Noble made the voice seem so emotionless and cold. With their portrayal of scarecrow the voice is cold, intelligent, manipulative and just plain evil
I have a friend who looks almost exactly like Cillian Murphy, funny enough he's also taking a psychology course at the local community college. I feel as though I may indirectly cause him to take an interest in the study of phobias given the fact that I have an obsession with scaring people even though I myself am quite ironically a huge coward.
Jeffrey Combs Hands down I also like scarecrow's look in the new batman adventures He looks like that creepy guy from poltergeist 2 and 3, but in zombie form.
+Ted Brodhead Dino was an amazing cackling version of Scarecrow, and he's my personal favorite, as his sections in Asylum were absolutely terrifying and a thrill to experience. +Colton Phillips they need to keep a timeline with the voice actors after scarecrow was mauled by croc it changed his appearance and voice he could only play him in a prequel
+Ted Brodhead If they really wanted to keep that timeline consistent, then in Knight there would have been way more of a reference to him being mauled by Croc. Barely anyone in the game even reacts to his return like its a big deal, they act like he was always this way. And maybe to you Scarecrow is supposed to be a more calm demeanored villain, that's fine, you can have your opinion. But someone like me who really loved Dino's version were just jarred of because of how different he was from his established version in Asylum. And the same can be said for Oracle and Gordon. Dino Andrade, then John Noble and Jeffrey Combs tie for second. While playing Arkham Asylum, the Scarecrow really stole the show behind Kevin's Batman and Mark's Joker. Great voice acting
I'm surprised how many people seem to be overlooking Christopher S Field. Though best is debatable in context, there is no denying he was perfectly suited for the role. The right amount of cruelty, focus, intent and reservation was contained in his voice, but in a way that masks a more ferocious nature behind it. It's something that people don't distinguish at first glance about the character but is a crucial aspect of his design.
my 2nd set of favorite scarecrow voices would be Henry Polic II (RIP), Jeffrey Combs, Cillian Murphy, Dee Bradley Baker, Corey Burton, Dino Andrade and John Noble:)
Here are four new voices to add to the list: the legendary Robert Englund, who is lending his voice to Scarecrow in Injustice 2, Brian T. Delany, who voiced him in Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem, Michael Rosenbaum from the Nightwing and Robin short of the movie Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, and Jason Mantzoukas from the Lego Batman Movie.
Agreed, when I heard that Scarecrow was going to be the main antagonist of Arkham Knight, I was disappointed…but then I heard John Noble's voice and I was amazed!!!
#1 Corey Burton #2 Cillian Murphy #3 Dino Andrade #4 Christopher Field #5 Henry Polic R.I.P. #6 John Noble #7 Andre Stoika#8Jeffrey combs#9 Dee Bradley#10 Don Messick R.I.P. #11 Ted Knight R.I.P.
Honestly, love them all.Though my most favorites would be Cillian Murphy (did I mention how sexy he is?), John Noble and Dino. And Robert Englund (that's how you spell his last name.)
I give Jeffery Combs a lot of credit for sounding scary without excessive distortion, but John Noble's version is growing on me. To me, he sounds kind of like Micheal Ironside and Combs' voice combined.
I think Jeffrey Combs, Dino Andrade, and John Noble are the best voices for the character so far. But if I had to choose one, personally, I would have to go with John Noble. He has that sinister, dark voice for Scarecrow. Every time I hear that voice, my body instantly freezes. :l
OMG watching comparing the voices keeps hitting me with John noble surprises I knew he was in lotr and plays Henry In sleepy hollow but I had no idea he did the voice of unicron in tfp and scarecrow in batman arkham knight
1. Jeffrey Combs 2. John Noble 3. Dino Andrade 4. Henry Polic II 5. Don Messick 6. Corey Burton 7. Ted Knight 8. Andre Stoika 9. Cillian Murphy 10. Dee Bradley Baker 11. Christopher S Field
Once I saw and heard the trailer for Arkam Knight, I knew he was THE scarecrow. John Noble from this list is the main guy for me. Although if he was not on this list, it would be Cillian Murphy, but thats just cuz I like his portrayal of the Scarecrow.
Jeffrey Combs and Dino Andrade are the best voices hands down Each excel on 2 of Scarecrow's most notable aspects Jeffrey nails his fear factor, while Dino nails his madness
Henry Polic II Just because I was a huge fan of The Batman Animated Series growing up as a kid and John Noble because damn...he jsut looked and sounded so AWESOME in Arkham Knight :D
Xehanort10 You see that's the thing. John Noble sounded like any other villain, in all honesty if I shut my eyes I could probably picture any number of baddies in his place. What I loved about Andrade was his 'old man' voice. Which gave Crane this personality beyond his insanity. Almost a calm, understanding and fascinated doctor, then he flips his shit and becomes the Scarecrow - an obsessed maniac that dives into fear like it's a swimming pool of jello. This, I loved. It gave him more of a character. Where as John Noble was just one person, there wasn't insanity dripping from every pour, no eerie contrast to go with the human part of his personality, there was just a generic dull, monologue-ing bad guy. Honestly I found his performance quite boring. He was the generic bad ass, but not the epic one I expected. Also apologies for the rant XD
maaaaan this makes me wanna be a voice actor..because I feel like it's something that's underrated in a way..like something that just not a lot of people think about
I really like Jeffery combs and John noble. They had unique inflections in the way they spoke as the character that made him sound genuinely scary without being over the top.
Dee Bradley Baker!!! for sure Dino, Jeffrey Combs, Brian T, John Noble and Cllian Murphy (Batman begins movie). Corey Burton is a miscast I expect him to sound scary but he is going over the top her. I would also love to see Brian Bloom, Austin Tindle, Greg Cipes, John DiMaggio, Nolan North, Roger L Jackson, Robert England, Roger Craig Smith, Troy Baker, Steve Blum, Mark Hamil, Kevin Micheal Richardson, Alfred Molina, Fred Tatashiore, Jeff Bennett, James Arnold Taylor, Travis Wilg, James Mantis iii, David Kaye, Eric Bauza, Micheal dobson, Paul Dobson, Matthew Wood and Grant George take a shot at voicing Scarecrow.
Dino Andrade and John Noble were simply amazing in my opinion. Dino’s Scarecrow is more loud and over the top, but still quite terrifying; especially with that laugh. John Noble, however, was more silent and menacing. Although, his version of Scarecrow messed up the continuity in the series, he was still great in the role.
Jeffrey Combs is a good one for Crane (the less crazy half, you know?) and Chris Fields is a great Scarecrow (the completely nuts half!) Cillian Murphy and John Noble play both halves equally well, and it's nice that they are suitable for a younger and older Crane, respectively.
Jeffrey Combs is the best Scarecrow because he's not loud, fake scary. His portrayal of Scarecrow is cold, menacing, and genuinely scary.
He was the original re-animator
Mckenzie .Latham Which made him perfect for the role.
That's the same reason that I love John Noble's voice as the Scarecrow
That's the same reason that I love John Noble's voice as the Scarecrow

1. John Noble

4. Dino Andrade
John Noble is the best voice hands down.
I mean come on, that guy could read a phone book and make it sound epic.
No he could read blah blah blah and make it sound epic
I like Dino Andrande better idk why :/
John Noble really suited it. Scarecrows voice would sound different due to the tube in his throat in Arkham Knight. Plus his face is almost totally reconstructed so his voice would be deeper.
He has a tube in his throat?
+MakaveliTheDon yeah he does
+MakaveliTheDon It was stated by random thugs that Scarecrow underwent facial reconstruction surgery following his mauling by Killer Croc at the end of Arkham Asylum, and that he most likely needed a respiratory bypass.
+Shawn McDaniel he does not laugh as much as in asylum anymore though
+starfuckerification People with tubes in their throat usually tend to laugh less
Scarecrow must have have hit puberty between arkham asylum and arkham knight
Well... Croc did screw him up pretty bad... You see his face? That's his real face, sewn together via surgery. That's literally the best they could do.
Blatantly Heroic ya but I'm on about his voice , not how he looks like
Danny Flannery Ah, so you're the type to stay strictly to a specific conversation topic, gotcha. XD
But damn... his face got ate up bad.
Blatantly Heroic That's his mask. It was torn up badly, hanging loosely. But he did get his face fucked up, revealing lots of his teeth.
Apparently, he has a tube in his throat.
John Noble's scarecrow is close to perfection
IT IS PERFECTION!!!!!!!!!
+Austin Agar It is fear.
+Its_only_martin Too bad the game wasn't.
Simon Petrikov
I didn't mind it, besides the forced batmobile sequences and the painfully obvious identity of the arkham knight I liked it
Its_only_martin I didn't like the boss fights in the game. Of course topping the Mr. Freeze fight would be hard, but not impossible. And also the two things you mentioned I didn't like. Jeffrey Combs. I don't know why, but that soft voice is just effectively terrifying to the character in my opinion.

Gotta hand it to John Noble.
If u like him check out his work as the Worker of secrets
I like Andrade the best.

Also it seems Scarecrow went through puberty between Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight
I assume being in killer cross digestive system would do that to you
True.
+J BAIN croc mauled scarecrow, he survived but got fucked up
Kitsey752 very fucked up

Jeffrey Combs and John Noble made the voice seem so emotionless and cold. With their portrayal of scarecrow the voice is cold, intelligent, manipulative and just plain evil
Happy Halloween!
***** WRONG! detective the answer to the question would be John noble
1: Jeffrey Combs
2: Christopher S. Field
Nobody else comes close. Cilian Murphy just doesn't sound scary and John Noble is too monologue-happy.
well john noble being too monologue happy would be more so a flaw with the script of arkham knight than the voice actor.
1. Jeffery Combs
2. Dino Andrade
3. John Noble
4. Henry Polic ll
5. Corey Burton
Agreed.
1) John Noble
2) Jeffrey Combs
3) Dino Andrande

Those awful first 3 don't cut it at all.

Jeffrey combs sounds like he could voice zsass

Oh god, I may have had a hand in creating the real life version of Scarecrow! D:
MrFirewolf18 Dammit, what have you done?!?
Aw hell, I gotta go into hidin'! Well hopefully if this does come to pass he'll take me on as one of his goons.
And hopefully not as that one goon that the villain kills/makes an example of.
Man, being a henchman is dangerous work if you think about it.
It's only REALLY dangerous if you work for The Joker *shivers*
Jeffrey Combs and John Noble. They're amazing!
Jeffrey Combs
Hands down
I also like scarecrow's look in the new batman adventures
He looks like that creepy guy from poltergeist 2 and 3, but in zombie form.
He looks like that creepy guy on steroids!
John Noble, Henry Polic, Jeffrey Combs, Cillian Murphy, Cory Burton, Dino Andrade
Dino Andrade is my personal favorite, followed closely by John Noble

John Noble is my favorite with Jefferey Combs in a close second.

Henry Polic has been my favorite, but Christopher S Field and John Noble sound amazing, as well.
Jeffrey Combs' Scarecrow sends shivers down my spine.
John Noble and Cillian Murphy are the best

Love both of them.
Also Cillian is sexy... Another reason to love him as Scarecrow. I find Noble to be sexy too.
Dino is awesome too.

@@barry2349 fuck off stupid
John Noble all the way
I could listen to Jeffrey Combs all day; his voice is just haunting perfection. He did a great job as The Question on JLU as well.
John Noble is my favorite. He was also in a kickass TV show called "Fringe".
Peyton Oliver I Second that!
I prefer his Arkham Knight appearance. I also prefer John Noble's voice but Combs is great also.
iReece4498 John Noble's has very similar vibes to Combs where he's quiet and creepy sounding and yeah that design is amazing.
ShadowofBatman The way Combs and Noble portray Scarecrow should be the way Scarecrow is portrayed all the time.
iReece4498 I agree.
1) John Noble
2) Jeffrey Combs

John Noble was the best. Just the perfect casting for Scarecrow.

John Nobel and Cillian Murphy are my favorites
Jeffrey Combs most subtle and raspy voice always creeps me out..
Jeffrey Combs was the best.
3:29 and 4:48 are THE BEST SCARECROWS
I love Combs and Murphy, but Noble and Andrade and my favorites as they both show the different facets of Scarecrow in one game franchise
Dino Andrade and John Noble!!
For my favorite Scarecrow voices I would have to pick Jeffrey Combs, Henry Polic II, Corey Burton and Cillian Murphy, in that order.
Dee Bradley Baker!!! for sure Dino, Jeffrey Combs, Brian T, John Noble and Cllian Murphy (Batman begins movie). Corey Burton is a miscast I expect him to sound scary but he is going over the top her. I would also love to see Brian Bloom, Austin Tindle, Greg Cipes, John DiMaggio, Nolan North, Roger L Jackson, Robert England, Roger Craig Smith, Troy Baker, Steve Blum, Mark Hamil, Kevin Micheal Richardson, Alfred Molina, Fred Tatashiore, Jeff Bennett, James Arnold Taylor, Travis Wilg, James Mantis iii, David Kaye, Eric Bauza, Micheal dobson, Paul Dobson, Matthew Wood and Grant George take a shot at voicing Scarecrow.
Well at least Robert England came true.
John noble was by far the better scarecrow
I don't know about you guys, but I love watching the videos where the voices transition from childish to dark and/or sinister.
