If the rate of sea level isn't too fast, and if reefs aren't too stressed by other things, the reef can grow pretty quickly and keep up with sea level rise. That's basically how atolls form (although with subsidence of the island, rather than rising of global sea level). However, there are lots of ancient examples of reefs that "drowned" because the balance between sea level rise and conditions for reef growth wasn't suitable for the reef to keep up with sea level rise.
thanks to you...i would like to know if it is possible to have it in french too
Do you have any references that can help me do research on this topic?
Any good text on invertebrate paleontology. Several volumes by Strock are worth reading..
what are the responses of reefs to changes in sea level?
