I was a fireman at the CDF Devore station in 1958-61. I can remember UP, Santa Fe and some real rube goldberg lashups. 2 UP Centennials with 130 loads upgrade. UP GP-9 turbo's with a pair of GP-9B's as a helper upgarde. And Santa Fe was still using some steam. Mainly 3850 class 2-10-2's. Thanks for the memories.

Great stuff! We railfanned as kids in those times.
Some great lashups in here!
THREE U50Cs lashed up at 6:10. Amazing....
Wow, Centennials, a DD35A and even the ugly duckling U50Cs! The biggest diesels on the railroad, and all in one video. Nice!
Absolutely fantastic! An era long before my time. Thanks for recording and thanks for uploading!
GP30s are always a welcome sight!
I ran that Santa Fe GP30 in the helper set that was freshly painted in the blue and yellow war bonnet back in 2006. It was on NS at the time
5:42 & 6:01 The true horn of the U50C.
Leslie S5T. Popular on UP’s powerful locomotives but almost every single one was fouled.
I wish U50C UP Existed but it sucks they don't run like is used to Its sad they got Retired over the years
