Most of them aren't famous at all. Most actors are like the security guard in this scene - they barely get any acting work and take other jobs to keep from starving.
Jessica is completely right. its good to follow your dreams but no parent wants their child to "risk it all" cause that really only works in the movies. having a steady income allows more room to follow your passion.
@@coldclearblue6350 well, it is the truth that most Asians tend to be going to more practical degrees like economics, medicine, or engineering. Edit: also computers.

Let us face it. She is arrogant. She went from a waitress for ten years from 2005-2015, and suddenly when she lands the lead female role in a sitcom, she just acts like she is the Asian princess of Hollywood itself as if no other Asian actress her age is available.
Aside from honor and practicality, one of the reasons why parents (not just Asians) usually think that the only jobs worth considering are doctors, lawyers, etc. Is because those are the only jobs they understand. There are so many prestigious jobs that pay well but they are unfamiliar to it, so they dont like it.
Do you not understand the concept of time and puberty?? The actress doesn't stop aging, it just doesn't show at her age since it's stable now, the kids are literally growing in 5 years, puberty changes everything for them will they are 25 years old
Asian Parents : -The word "replying" and any synonym of that word isn't in either of their vocabulary's -Not answering their texts after 5 hours because you didn't have time to answer because you have to do something important means that they think you don't love them anymore -Always has grocery bags from the supermarket or any place in a cupboard or pantry to save money on bags -Always has trouble for ordering Fast Food unless they got straight A's in English which is not possible , or they just mastered an English accent -Always calls Walmart , and Target "Wal-mack" and "Ta-get" --Eating Upstairs will lead to a whoopin
Kind of ironic the character with the worst actor of the cast decides to pursue acting. I mean I loved Emery in the first three seasons. But after season 4, the portrayal seemed so awkward, and all the lines seemed kind of clunky for him.
Why do so many asian parents not want their kids doing anything when all they did was move up by default for some company? They literally just didn't get caught, blamed everyone else when they screwed up & never showed up late. They don't have any skill every other working person doesn't. At least that's what they all did where I'm from. Then their kids thought they were rich & didn't do anything like go to school....the assumed bc their parents bought them nike & hollister they were rich like their peers. It's like they're obsessed with building wealth, but they still spend all their money. I guess it's all pacific islanders though....all asians aren't the same

I actually agree to jessica this time. Actor's future is uncertain at income, they're just famous, that's all.
Most of them aren't famous at all. Most actors are like the security guard in this scene - they barely get any acting work and take other jobs to keep from starving.
That's the risk. Sometimes it's worth it. You dont know until you try.
Some people dont become famous but have enough work to live comfortably.
The three commenteers didn't know that they are actually actors
You don't need to be famous and successful. You can just be a working actor.

Bro he’s so grown up 😭😭
Seriously! I’m on season 4 right now and I thought he was already old then compared to the first season lol
Evan still remains little except for a slightly deep voice, which is still not as deep as emery’s or eddie’s.
nah she lied. no asian mom would approve this
Lol. So true.
She doesn't approve. She said she'd act like she approved

I'm Asian, and my parents did.
Yeah but every parent would tell you to think twice, no matter the ethnicity.
Eddie: food critic
Emery: flight attendant and now actor
Evan: Doctor president
You do realize all of the main cast in this show are Asian
So Asian. The only careers are engineer, lawyer, accountant, doctor, or be an embrassment to the family.
mancunian4life86 an embarrassment it is
Accountant is borderline unless you're working for a large firm
You forgot disappointment
Nah the Accountant and Lawyer are on thin ice
Accountant? That's too easy and simple.
Why do I feel like Emery looks like young Jackie Chan?
not only me..huh?
These kids grow up so quickly!
Seems like only yesterday he wanted to be a airline attendent
Emery could be a perfect Aang in an Avatar live action in my opinion
Woah, totally true!!
Could also be Zuko maybe
Acting is great and all, but it's super hard to make it. I think every actor should have a fall back plan.
damn the fact that they made Jessica slowly tease out the fake accent as the seasons passed is insane
Constance Wu is a gift to the world.
Robin Nah she's a bitch. I liked her a lot before she came out as a bitch.
She is a bit entitled and ungrateful. Definitely white washed and uncultured at times

Ironic, cuz shes an actress.
And totally showing off her skills in this scene.
Well yes but in the eyes of a parent having your child be a actor is always a shaky future
Emery Huang is a handsome young lad
Emery is getting hotter day by day 😅😅
Yes your right.
perv
Emery is the perfect huang boy. Straight A’s, charismatic, athletic, mature, polite, and a ladies man.
I knoww😩😩Is it creepy to crush over a boy who's 4yrs younger than me?
Me een no. I think as long as the age difference does not exceed five years, it is fine.

I think Jessica's travels in time to act. After seeing her kids change over the years and comparing with hers , its almost negligible !!

The ironic thing is they are both actors
Beverly and Barry talk about his love of acting - the Goldbergs.
He looks like Jackie Chan dafuq

The family makes sense in many ways. Only one obvious flaw, Emery looks like a white boy or mix.
he's half. he looked more chinese as a kid though
