  • www.pmpfilms.com the worlds largest collection of transport hobby DVDs featuring buses, lorries, trams and trolleybuses worldwide. Also a vast array of archives you never see on UA-cam! Plus digital downloads and links to half a million still images.Welcome to the world of PMP films owned by Dave and Mandy Spencer. It is really a hobby for us and we take great pleasure in meeting with other transport enthusiasts around the world.
The origins of PMP go back to the 1970s when we sold photographs at local transport society meetings in Manchester.
We had a brief period selling models which gave us the PMP name. Peover Model Promotions which also alludes to our home village in the Cheshire countryside.
At the end of the 1980s we started filming on video and by 1989 had launched video sales. We were fortunate in having good friends who gave us access to archive cine film which broadened our range both in time and locations.
As video faded as a format we started to produce DVDs and in 2010 commenced filming in HD or high definition which produces startling quality although it handles motion less well. Our films feature transport items unless stated otherwise. This means natural sound with no narration or music added. We are not a Hollywood production company so don't expect Ice Road Truckers, our budget is a tank of fuel not a million dollars. One customer complained that his trucking DVD had nothing but trucks on it- you just cannot win. After having a knee replacement in Sept 2015 Dave retired from his 'day' job and now works full time bringing you more films than ever.
For snail mail or reference you can download our order form which can be posted or emailed through to us. Use the links to our Smug Mug site for purchasing still photos and downloads. Digital still downloads for all our images was added in 2018 on our Smugmug site together with the introduction of DVD digital downloads on this our own site. Digital downloads for DVDs are on our shop for releases mid 2018 onwards. We expect to be on full spec optical fibre autumn 2023 and this will greatly speed up putting our downloads on the shop.
Our archive feature images are where possible selected from HD scanned cine film for archives with a high standard of reproduction. We use NEAT to clean old film and video, de interlacing when required, up quality where needed to HD and adjust speed to 50-60fps.
Dave now manages the new OTA channel on UA-cam and is working with OTA to scan moving images in their collection and also assisting the reintroduction of railway films formerly compiled by Jeremy English.
Dave is also working with friends around the world to introduce new model buses in 4mm scale to a high detail spec.
We are also branch sec and Chair for Cheshire, Wirral and Nth Wales branch of the British Polio Fellowship, Patrons of the Royal Northern College of music and sponsors of the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust.

I remember not long after I moved to France 20 odd years ago, I took a photo of a Renault PR100 (an old Berliet style one) at a terminus in Béziers. Back then my French wasn't very good and my French partner (now wife) intervened, as the driver was getting a bit excited. Apparently "You are not allowed to take photos of buses in France" and he was threatening to call the Police(!). You get all sorts everywhere.
As we say here... Bon courage... 😉

What annoys me about National Express Wet Midlands is that it never seems to get it's fleet into one standard livery until some one pulls the plug and introduces a new livery, for example watching your video and wandering about Birmingham and the West Midlands as a whole you see NXWM buses in variouse forms of the old Red and Blue liverie's in a shabby state, buses in the maroon livery and in this livery in Wolverhampton proclaiming that NXWM has served the City for years when in fact it has only done this since Wolverhamton became a City arround 10 years ago, before that Wolverhampton was a Town served by WMNX, WM Travel, WMPTE and Wolverhampton Corporation, Newer Buses in the Platignium Livery with all sorts of Route Branding that they do not seem to run on, now buses migrating from Coventry in the Blue Livery of NX Coventry running with NX Coventry on them still or maaroon stickers on the Blue Livery with NXWM on them and now a new Grey Livery with a red stripe appearing on repainted NX Coventry buses, it is about time that NXWM got one standard livery, the only thing now is that NX Coventry buses are now in the NX Platnum Grey livery and not Blue. The only time WM Buses were in a standard livery was in the 1970's/early 80's when all buses were in the Oxford Blue and cream livery of the WMPTE
