Yeah, during that scene I thought "Uhm ... gloves?!". But what a unique experience this game is! That musical sequence was genious (and gave me Peacemaker vibes). I usually don't like surrealim but both Alan Wake games (as well as Control) do it right!

Well no, he can't just write anything into his story.....it has to fit within the genre and has to follow a narrative causality (this was explained in the first game).
It's also clearly explained in the second game too. Some people just seem to miss it for some reason lol That said, it was worth the misunderstanding as it did lead to a damn good joke

There are rules, and he has to try to make his way out of a nearly impossible situation by finding loopholes in those rules, or clever ways to subvert them; a writer's dream and nightmare combined, sort of. It's not just survival; if he can pull it off, it's also proof that he can construct a compelling and plausible narrative. But also getting out of the hell dimension, yeah.

It got plenty of GOTY nominations and has a decent shot at winning GOTY. Good words of mouth would help. Alan Wake 1 wasn't a huge financial success either. It just became a cult classic because of words of mouth.

Considering that they really haven't recovered from Quantum Break based on what people are criticizing, I'd say it's a bad thing. I'm just waiting for Max Payne 1 and 2 remake. I've lost most of my hope for the "old guard." Sam Lake is also the same person who signed off on Max Payne 3's story... look at how that franchise went when Rockstar took over.

The Easter egg was there before the DLC was announced. It's the page from Wake's manuscript in the Panopticon that's shown in the video. The DLC just confirmed the rumors that came from that.
Even before the dlc was announced, you could find a hidden room in the Panopticon upper levels (Panopticon is the place where they store and emprison Altered items) which had a typewriter and going close to it would make an echo of Alan appear, talking about trying to escape. I found this before the dlc was announced and as I huge fan of Alan Wake I was ecstatic!

Ngl, Saga's near-magical deduction abilities were one of the weakest bits of the narrative. Like, I would get it if say Rose mentioned "Oh, (resident) always steals from the other residents. Her nightstand is practically a shrine of stolen goods" and that lets her deduce maybe the missing item is there, but it really feels like she's just cheating and checking the game wiki 😂😂
I mean, I didn't dislike the explanation given. While at the start her deductions might have felt mighty annoying, the fact that their weirdness was mentioned by other characters kept me intrigued enough to reach the explanation.

This game plays EXACTLY like some Resident Evil games. Small amount of super powerful enemies, inventory management and upgrades, hidden treasures. I honestly did not expect that after the first one.

if anybody still playing this, after you avoid the attacks, even if it isn't a perfect dodge, attack without aiming to hit them with the flashlight, that stuns them a good time enough for you to reload or aim for a headshot, i wish i knew earlier

No. It plays better. Less enemies, but they're tougher and the atmosphere keeps tense all throughout the game.
