Kenan Thompson? Good God! He is fricking TERRIBLE. His Harvey is unique and pretty good but doesn’t sound like Harvey. And he can do a credible Cosby but, honestly, who can’t? Otherwise, he sounds exactly like Kenan Thomson trying to do an impression. Also, I think Jimmy Fallon is one of SNL’s most overrated performers ever, but his impressions were often very good. They were note for note, though, and didn’t necessarily bring that extra spark that Hader, Carvey, Ferrell and McKinnon gave their portrayals.
Leaving out Kristen Wigg is bizarre and unfortunately it's predictable for them to leave out Cecily🙄 She does amazing impressions of Jeanine Pirro, Sofia Vergara, Alanis Morrissette, Liza Minelli, Ivana Trump, Melania Trump, and the list goes on even if she doesn't think of herself as an impressionist. Even if the voice isnt exact at times she puts everything into the mannerisms but Watchmojo constantly ignores her...
@@MaleviahBurnedyou must be joking, no way Gasteyer should be put before Wiig in impressions, hell I would put Melissa Villaseñor before Gasteyer, even with her limited airtime. And wiig is definitely a better impressionist than Mckinnon. Wiigs Björk impression is enough to prove that. And Dan Aykroyd? Ridiculous. Aykroyd was never known as an impressionist
Also, it should be noted that comedy was actually Phil Hartman's second career. Prior to joining SNL, he was a successful graphic designer. He even designed the cover for America's 1975 album, Hearts.
Will Ferrel and Dana Carvey so funny as President Bush and Ross Perot! Phil Hartman and Anna Gastayer. Hope I got the name right. Her impression of Celine Dion and Martha Stewart, Keenan, omg, all your choices so funny. Eddie Murphy as Jackson, "Hot Tub Song" .Love them! Stewart- fabulous! Hader! And the two doing "Documentary Now" show.
John Belushi (not on the list) and Dan Aykroyd are my all time favorites. Also Bill Hader, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig (why is she not on the list?)
Great list. You should add Donatella Versace to Maya Rudolph. You don't even have to have heard Versace speak to enjoy Rudolph's over the top thick ridiculously exaggerated Italian accent Beyond hilarious and she did her often. Another great oldie was Joe Piscopo doing Frank Sinatra. Just too funny.
Great list. I don’t think you left anyone off that should’ve been on. The top 2 are spot on, but I feel like Jay Pharaoh should be higher. He had sooo many that were spot-on, more so than some higher on the list. Just my opinion. Thanks for the list.
She’s not my favourite (that would be Ana Gasteyer), but Vanessa Bayer did a great Miley Cyrus. Jimmy Fallon did some great musical impressions, too. And what about Gilda’s Barbara Walters?
I’m sorry, I disagree, Phil Hartman should’ve been number one. No disrespect to Hader, he’s very talented, but Phil really did embody so many different characters. He was definitely one of a kind.
Lex Kanyima I don’t remember Murray being known for impressions. Characters, yes. Eddie Murphy was good. And I liked Joe Piscopo’s Sinatra with Murphy’s Stevie Wonder. 😂 Everyone forgets Piscopo tho.
I'm at the honorable mentions and before it gets to number one I'm going to give the comments my guess and say it's Norm Macdonald. Even if it's not him he's my choice.
I guess it's a hard list to compile with so many decades of talented impressionists, but personally I think Jay Pharoah could be higher and I think Melissa is amazing. I mean, impressions are her thing. I still watch her AGT performances from time to time; still impressive.
This was a list for SNL cast members that are/were the best impressionists. Sandler, Farley and MacDonald were great cast members but not particularly great impressionists compared to those on the list.
Hader is unquestionably great, but for sheer versatility, I think that Kate McKinnon should have been number one. Her fantastic versions of Justin Bieber, Rudy Giuliani, Hillary Clinton, Ellen DeGeneres, Kelly Ann Conway, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Joy Behar, Elizabeth Warren, Jeff Sessions and so many others.
I can't believe Eddie Murphy is not in the top 10...his Stevie Wonder (with him present) was hilarious watch his stand up comedies from the 80's...they are pure gold (offensive for today's eyes though)
Does someone have the link to the skit where Hillary Clinton and Kate McKinnon are in? I saw it once, but I simply don't find it anymore. My favourite impersonator is Melissa Villaseñor. It's amazing what she can do with her voice. I especially appreciate her John Mulaney impression.
I don't think the person who made this list knows what an impressionist is. Pharoah, Carvey, Hader, and Hartman are the best ones here, everyone else is just doing comedy bits using other people's names.
I would have put Jay Pharaoh way higher on the list, at least in the top 3. He could do more (and better) impressions than a lot of people that were ranked higher. Also, Melissa Villasenor should've been actually on the list instead of an honorable mention.
every few years, one cast member dominates SNL to the point it unofficially becomes "the ________ show". in the early 80s it was the eddie murphy show. from 2006-2010 it became the kristen wiig show. now it truly the kate mckinnon show.
Who's YOUR favorite "SNL" impressionist?
The last one
Bill Hader and Darell Hammond
@@BeeReports444 oh shut up
Lol I totally agree 😂😂😂
None
Bill Hader is underrated as a dramatic actor. He and Wiig were amazing in Skelton Twins.
He's amazing in Barry!
This list was very racist
Dana Carvey playing both Bush and Perot during the same sketch speaks volumes.
Jay Pharaoh’s voice changes are simply incredible. Like it sometimes sounds like he’s just lip syncing to the real actor’s voice.
The fact that you have Dana Carvey at number 7 is a crime. He is at least number 2, possibly behind ONLY Darrel Hammond.
Duh, no Will Ferrel as Harry Carry? He nailed that with the mannerism and voice
Yes. I think his Caray is much better than his Trebek.
I knew Bill Hader is gonna be #1 ❤️❤️
Before the countdown started I was like Bill Hader because Stefon got me every time
Just watched. Before it started I thought; Bill Hader doing Alan Alda. Knocked it out of the park.
No Cecily strong or kristen wiig wtf
I thought the same thing. Like, not even in the honorable mentions? Wtf smh
Jay Pharoah should be much higher on this list. He’s unreal and can nail so many impressions
This list was very racist
I agree. The guy was hired entirely for his impressions.
Kristen Wiig deserved a spot here.
No she didn't. They got the list pretty accurate, minus Jay Pharoah being ridiculously low.
@@MaleviahBurned I dun no what r you doin hah
Nahh

As soon as I clicked on this video I knew exactly who #1 would be. Nobody even comes close to Hader in terms of impressions
Awe Phil Hartman I adore him. RIP my beloved missed friend
Phil Hartman was extremely talented. I truly think the show hasn’t been as funny since he left.
@@LadyKC67 it's a rebuilding mode after he left
@@LadyKC67 I remember him from such movies as Dial M for Murderousness, Calling All Quakers, and The Erotic Adventures of Hercules.
Mellissa Villasenor made a pitch-perfect Dolly Parton impression yesterday.
Did you see Melissa's Dolly Parton last night on SNL? it was spot on
The fact Eddie Murphy was just an honorable mention is a travesty!
Opinions...
Man, this channel is always epic
Darrell Hammond is so funny as Sean Connery!
Sadly, Sean Connery himself passed away.
Also, it should be noted that comedy was actually Phil Hartman's second career. Prior to joining SNL, he was a successful graphic designer. He even designed the cover for America's 1975 album, Hearts.
Ohh
Melissa is the BEST and she truly is inspiration for me
Darrell Hammond is my favorite. Love his Sean Connery.
Darryl Hammond and Phil Hartman are my favorites.
Whoa whoa whoa how was Jimmy Fallon nowhere on this list???
Maria Villasenor as Lady Gaga is epic!
Darrell Hammond is one of the best there ever was! And his Trump impression was WAY better than Alec Baldwin’s.
Can't wait for Kristen Wiig Impression as Cheetah in WW84
Honestly, I can’t choose a favorite. They’re all genuinely funny.
Dana Carvey is by far my favorite. I also would give a shout out to the great Gilda Radner and her Baba Wawa skits.
Bill Harder he is a best comedy actor in the world and I like when he say in the show this phrase ¡ Welcome to Jurassic Park ! Hahaha😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😂😂😂😂😂😂
Honorable mention sought also gone to Alec Baldwin and his Emmy worthy Trump impersonation.
He's not a cast member
Baldwin never was an official cast member
Jay Pharaoh is one of the best impressionists ever
I`ve been watching SNL since the late 90, there are a lot of people i like:hader is definitely in ,my top 3
I was getting pissed that there wasn't Bill Hader until they named him #1. He's one of the funniest people on earth!!!!!
Darrell hammond did a way better trump impression than alec Baldwin does.
Great list except for the blatant Fred Armisen & Kristen Wiig erasure
At least Phil didn't suffer. He left us too soon. RIP
NO FRED ARMISEN ???
Hader doing Clint Eastwood is hilarious.
Love Celebrity Jeopardy skits but Farrell’s Trebek impression was possibly his worst.
Nothing is better than Bill Hader as Keith Morrison
Great list. You should add Donatella Versace to Maya Rudolph. You don't even have to have heard Versace speak to enjoy Rudolph's over the top thick ridiculously exaggerated Italian accent Beyond hilarious and she did her often.

Are we not gonna talk about how pretty Rebecca is??!!
She’s not my favourite (that would be Ana Gasteyer), but Vanessa Bayer did a great Miley Cyrus. Jimmy Fallon did some great musical impressions, too. And what about Gilda’s Barbara Walters?
How can Norm Macdonald not even have an honorable mention?
His Burt Reynolds, Bob Dole, David Letterman and Andy Rooney were all great.
Dana Carvey will always be my favorite but Phil Hartman, as Frank Sinatra, is a fantastic second. I forgot about Darrell Hammond.
Bill hader taking no. 1 made my day
Alec Baldwin's Trump is pretty damn funny imo
Hammond's Trump is much better.
Personally, I really loved Martin Short as Ed Grimley.
I was hoping to see Wiig here, damn
I’m sorry, I disagree, Phil Hartman should’ve been number one. No disrespect to Hader, he’s very talented, but Phil really did embody so many different characters. He was definitely one of a kind.
Eddie Murphy or Bill Murray

George Bush
Harry caray
How was Kristen Wiig not on this list?

Jay Pharoah is better than #10
Can you do top 10 episodes of Spectacular Spider-Man
Kristen Wiig deserved to be in the top ten
Can you do comic book origin of Marvel's Phyla-Vell and Genis-Vell?
No Taran Killam? What in the world lol
Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey, Will Ferrell are very good
No Sandler, Farly, or Norm Macdonald?

Cheri Oterri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that it’s really interesting that Bill Hader was not really that great of a student in school, but ended up being really successful.
Bill Hader no.1 impressionist? You gotta be kidding me.
Hader is unquestionably great, but for sheer versatility, I think that Kate McKinnon should have been number one. Her fantastic versions of Justin Bieber,
Rudy Giuliani, Hillary Clinton, Ellen DeGeneres, Kelly Ann Conway, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Joy Behar, Elizabeth Warren, Jeff Sessions and so many others.
Eddie Murphy and Dan akroyd are so funny
You totally ignored the elephant in the room with Phil Hartman.
No mention of Kristen Wiig?
I would have to agree... hader’s alan alda is as close to the actor as you can get.

Jay Pharoah should be higher.
maya rudolph will never be beaten she is the best by far.
Will Farrell only at 8 is a travesty
