12 foot ninja cover is officially out.
Huge thanks to Shane “Russ” Russell the band’s drummer for majorly hooking it up with my very own play-through so I was able to verify that I’m not butchering this epic tune. one of my favorite drummers, super creative, ton a feel and an amazingly sweet dude. We never actually met but I’m sensing some lofty vibes. There are so many amazing light beings alive today. Can you feel it?
Just shot a gear walk through for you today, it might be my most interesting or most boring video to date. Not sure which just yet. Ran through my DW collectors sizes, shell configuration, cymbals, audio gear and tuning. to be honest my engineer Kevin Majorino did most of the talking, but I was there to ask plenty of questions, and that should count for something I think.

It's so cool how he writes his drum parts. Not just a bunch of boring blast beats but crazy shifting time signatures and perfectly placed symbol accents. Beautiful job!

i love this song and have listened to it eleventy billion times but i never really appreciated how complex the drumming in it is until this video. and you nailed it! Amaze.
I've been lucky enough to meet the singer from the band - lovely chap and see them live here in Melbourne. They are so deeply talented, fun, energetic ; cerebral and primal at the same time. Golden.

I'm embarrassed to admit I watched the Grammys last night. I don't understand how bands like this don't get recognized. I guess really being able to play instruments is a red flag to the grammy judges.
Not donating to the Grammys and playing political ass kissing games will make sure they don't notice or care about you.

12FN's music is genius and I doubt most listeners have a true technical appreciation of how complex Shane Russel's drumming is on this track. Like 'Oxygen', the drumming in virtually every 12FN song is like a continuous solo of detailed fills rather than a predictable 'metronomic' beat that meanders repetitively along in the background with the occasional emergence of a common fill. In other words, covering this song is hard as fuck and you nailed not only technical elements, but completely conveyed the smile generating enjoyment that 12FN fans share in common with this awesome band!!! Beyond impressed.
You cannot be bought there is only one of you and no one has enough chocolate to keep you satisfied. Perfectly on time and so lovely and never showing gruntface in the drumerology of your science in greatnesses. Your loveliness is potent.

The Black Swan and The Constant are excellent as well.
If anyone is underrated it's Mr. Bungle/Patton. They did it first and TFN does a really fine job of imitating them. Don't get me wrong, these guys are great. But I hope all the young people who hear this understand what they're hearing.
