From the comments of other owners, this is a normal sound from the drain pump. The same sound is heard in videos for other washer brands too. Not a problem - and a good washing machine - easy to use.

It's normal nothing to worry about. I have the same washer, bought it about a year ago makes the same sound, and it works great.
Great! Yes it's a good washer - that drain pump noise was my only concern - but it's about same (or louder) on other brands. Not a problem!

Nothing is wrong with your washer as that is the sound of the drain pump kicking on

That’s absolutely not normal. There’s a severe grinding noise accompanying the motor sound…

After changing suspension rod, level, calibrate and even check the hub nut to make sure it’s tight, still the same, feel like giving up. Help
I bought my washing machine a few days ago, it's the same model, only when I want to wash, it doesn't wash, but it throws out the water. I don't know what I could do
I have the same model, bought mine 3 years ago and I regret buying it. I started getting a UR code, meaning unbalanced drum. I replaced all four (Suspension Rods) and still is unbalanced, shakes like crazy. I bought them at Amazon. Big mistake.

It's the pump making noise. Maybe it's normal or there is something in the pump not draining

I have complained about that noise from day one. It's terrible. Yes, it happens on the drain part of cycle. They tell me it's normal but that's not normal to me. It's not only annoying but it sound like the motor is burning out or something! I told samsung, if that's normal then the washer is junk!
i have just bought one!..IT SEEMS VERY COMPLICATED,,THE WHOLE THING...controls,it seems like l will need to youtube vid just to start!When did our world betray us?..tjey try to make it all things to all people!

Don’t waste your money on this or any Samsung appliance.Had this washer for four years and it was a piece of junk.The company does not stand behind their products.
Wish I never bought this set..the noise is the water draining tho..I had this for a year then it started giving me problems

It might work, but if there is any water inside the washer it would drain out on the floor.

With power on, press and hold the Soil and Water Level buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. You'll need the Samsung Smart Washer app to take a photo of the LED pattern to look up the corresponding diagnostic measage .
another issue...when I restart a load after pausing it drains to tub and starts over
It may depend how far along it is in the cycle when you pause. While it is first filling, you can press start/pause, open the lid, add additional clothes, close the lid, and press the start/pause button and it will continue to fill without it first draining.
