Utterly respect to those who flip both hands. It's where I draw the line but I respect you.

I’ve been stuck offhand flipping for the past 2 weeks. Broke my right wrist 3 more weeks to go😢.
My preferences are different because my skill gap. I like lighter and more neutral Balis with my off hand and I think it’s mainly because my off hand is weaker and less competent. But conceptual I’m not a beginner with my off hand so I don’t think I need handle bias like most beginners tend to prefer.

Also I feel my offhand skill has already grown substantially in the past 2 weeks

I do the same thing as you, I flip in my off hand when I’m doing anything with my right or don’t have room on the right. And I definitely notice that I like my older preferences in my left hand whereas I like a very light handle bias to neutral balance in my right.

Yes it very much the same for me. Main hand prefers dead neutral and off hand more handle bias. Also different Tricks transfer better or worse to my off hand rollover style tricks work relatively effortless but Fan into choker I have a hard time with as well. I believe it is a combination of lacking finger strength, worse technic and that some tricks are harder to inverse for my brain 🧠.
Rollovers are simple to convert because you only need to turn the other way like switching between a forward and backward rollovers but as soon as I try tricks that twist the Bali my brain starts to get confused very easily 😅. Guess handle bias gives you that extra momentum to carry you through even if your finger strength and skill is lacking while also giving your brain a little more time to think on tricks with direction changes because of the less responsiveness.

It came quite easily for me. I'm left handed but I flip mainly with my right hand, same for pen spinning. Since I use my left hand for everything else it's pretty easy to switch. I might be a unique case or maybe not

I don't know if this will be of any validity. I realised that if you flip in both hands simultaneously, your dominant hand almost "teaches" your off-hand. For example, when I first started flipping in my off-hand I could hardly pull of a y2k, but when I flipped in both hands I could do a helix in my first attempt. Despite the weight difference in my live-blade lucha in my dominant and volp in my off hand. Could just be yapping but it caught me off guard how easy it became. Good luck on finals, just finished mine too

Dude, your off hand flipping is really good. You could totally do double flipping.
But I agree with what you said about off hand flipping. It would make sense your off hand is your old preferences from your primary. I think cause our bodies are naturally familiar with the actions that we do and are comfortable with. So since your off hand is getting more comfortable with those actions, body will revert to automatically performing those same actions you have previously done and comfortable with, which was your previous preferences from your primary hand… but that’s just me. I could be making no sense, idk lol.

Have you tried flipping with both hands at same time? My off hand was not very good but when I used both hands at the same time, somehow my brain made it easier in my off hand, my off hand felt almost like my main hand. Would be interesting to see if you flip both hands same time to see if it makes it easier with the off hand tricks.

Yesterday I learned behind the 8 ball and after I got it down smoothly, I tried it in my off (right) hand and got it almost perfectly on the first try…. I still suck but it was weirdly satisfying 😂

    bowser wow
yea i feel the same way. In my collection, my normal preferences lean a lot towards my squaldy once I gave it a chance some more recently, and I've found even something like an hourglass kraken kinda hefty and not the best at agility or momentum carrying. I'd say the stock vulp pro was good but wasn't really it for me. My naut is probably hand to hand with my squaldy as my absolute favorite and main flippers.
on my offhand tho, the squaldy just felt bad and it didn't really do anything I wanted to do pretty much at all. Thankfully the naut feels alright because it has enough end weight, so ig that didn't really change. My hg kraken felt a lot better as a whole in just doing all the tricks I could do on my offhand that I don't really do much of anymore on my main hand. The stock vulp pro, tho, it never felt so good to flip and my offhand just couldn't put the thing down. Really goes to show much your preference changes when you use your offhand as pretty much a revisit on where you were back then in flipping compared to now huh

Idk about anyone else but I also get that delay/handle bias thing in your left hand lmao
like my offhand isn't as dexterous and the handle bias helps with tricks, kind of like when you start the hobby you;re not fully mastered the way momentum is idk

Good topic: I think it's a lack of strength and skill that makes a person prefer lots of handle bias. As you get better you, and most everybody, tend to start liking nuetrality more.

Def feel that, it looks like you're pretty decent with ur left hand 💯 im trying to get gUd as well lol i think it has something to do with the fact that your brain already knows it in your right hand and so like u said u know how to do it but the muscle memory isnt there 😂
