I am over 80 years old and never visited the Carpathian as I did not Ukraine. This great video has learned me how peaceful life could be so rich of beautiful culture, nature, people, and traditions. It is such a contrast to the news I am watching daily sitting in my easy chair in the Netherlands about the terrible war that is going on in Ukraine. Every day I hope for good news about the heroic patriots defending their country to the aggression of the Russia soldiers. The talking hands of Maria showed me the world of the Carpathians. I have been to Ukraine many times over the years. I love Ukraine. In all my times there, I never had the opportunity to go to the Carpathians. I have heard of their beauty. Thank you for this wonderful video. I now know where I will go first and spend a lot of time when I return to Ukraine.
I look forward to visiting the Carpathian mountains of Ukraine, I have been many times to this beautiful country in the course of my work, back when it was part of the USSR and in the early days of your independence. The people were fantastic, really friendly, and if you had a problem they would go out of their way to help you, even though they had very little themselves. I returned there back in 2012 and was amazed at the changes, so much progression in a relatively short time, and I look forward to the time I can return, slava Ukraine
Brynza-branza, vurda-urda, treba-trebuie, tolba-tolba. the hutzuls , the popular clothes and the flute song ... exactly like in Romanian Carpathians. Slava Ukraini 👍

Dear Masha, let me say i am already in love with Ukraine and its people ! but wow , what an amazing beautiful part of your country that you made us travel with you today ! you are natural at what you do , i cant wait for this ugly and unjust war to be over , so i can visit and experience your beautiful country . 💛💙
Wonderful video of the region my parents were born and like today, they had to leave because of WW2. Both survived and eventually immigrated to the US. They lived close to the Polish border in a small village that no longer exists. Love the cheese horses and the vyshyvanka designs are similar to the one my mother made for me (I still have it although it's a bit tight fitting now). Watching you fish was hilarious. We'll make a country girl out of you yet. I've visited Kyiv but didn't have time to see the Carpathians. Now I must visit! Also, the last piece of music I remember my dad playing on his violin. As for the air raid sirens, I would guess maybe 12? Thank you for a beautiful video of my roots. Slava Ukraini. Take care.Taras from the US.

Yes, but ... I associate the Carpathians mostly with Romania. And historically, the Carpathians were the home of the Carpi people, who *_might_* be the ancestors of the Albanians. 5:10: Brynza (in Romanian brânză) is one of those mysterious words that has an unclear "substratum" heritage, possibly from a Dacian or Illyrian language. But it might also have originated from Latin brandeum.
You find wonderful people to interview, and they really open up their hearts to you. Job well done, thank you for your work. Glory to Ukraine, Glory to the heroes.

“Separated from your roots” is an exacting expression. A young person will generate new roots when replanted but that phantom pain never goes away.. it stays with you under the surface 💔
I'm from Zakarpattya and been living abroad for quite a while now. Can't explain why but this episode made me cry (in a positive connotation ofc). Maybe because I miss these places so much. But thank you so much for showing the beauty of my beloved Carpathian Mountains. Дуже дякую усій команді. Дійсно заплакала
Masha I laughed at your cheese “bear cub.” Probably because I couldn’t do any better. I really enjoyed learning about the Carpathian Mountains and the local culture. That is one area on my list to see when I come visit. Lastly, thank you to all of your crew behind the scenes. They help make very enjoyable programs to watch. That’s why I subscribed and donate so I can keep seeing more of Ukraine. Slava Ukraini! Love from Los Angeles. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇦💙💛
I have visited the Carpathian mountain's twice within the past few year's, absolutely beautiful. I will definitley go back again soon. Slava Ukraina! 💙💛
Hello: Taras. I stayed mainly in the Ivano Frankivsk region in cities of Yaremche and Mykylychyn. If you do have time try to see all area's of the Karpaty. You won't be disapointed, the hiking is great throughout the mountain's, bring good hiking shoes, warm clothes and a jacket or sweater if your hiking-up higher mountain's. You'll love it!
A wonderful video! Thank you for your efforts to educate the world that Ukraine is far more than a war zone and that her roots and depth of culture are so incredibly old and deep! I think the spiteful and barbaric ruSSian attacks resulted in fifteen air raid warnings over the four day period. Слава Україні! Слава Героям! 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦
What a stunningly beautiful area, full of rich traditions. My chosen charity, Voices of Children, cone to the Carpathians for their summer camps, supported this year by the Olena Zelenska Foundation. I can see why this region is so beneficial to the physical and mental wellbeing of children affected by the war. I so hope to be able to visit Ukraine soon. слава україні
Wow Masha and she sings too. You bring us Ukraine in every way its beauty, food, history, culture it is so rich. From the moment I turned on this episode I had tears in my eyes. It touched my soul so deeply must be ancient ancestral memories that ring a special cord with me. The dress, music and scenery as well as just the sound of your language as I only recognize a few words from some study long ago. Thank you, thank you. And such a stark contrast with the front page of the Kyiv Independent which I read several times a day to stay current. This is such peace and that is such harsh reality of the way humans especially Russians have always treated their neighbors. They blame Ukraine and NATO but they did this for centuries. I am so sorry that the same horrors that drove my ancestors to the U.S. from Ukraine in 1917 still go on at Russia's hands and such a contrast to the beauty you show us. Thank you for your insight and showing us your journey. Sending you love. Slava Ukraini, glory to the heroes.
Thanks for that video. I just came right to remind me on our recent family trip to the Carpathians. Answering your question about the air raids: We have been in the Carpathians from 31.07. till 15.08. this year and we didn't hear any air raid during that time. So maybe you also didn't?
I would guess 6 sirens in 4 days but would not be surprised if it were more. I spent this summer in Ukraine, including almost a month in Ivano Frankivsk. Beautiful story telling, complements to you and your crew.
Wow, you make lovely natural video. I'm sold, I want to come. I want to support Ukraine, but is it right to be a tourist at this time? I also don't speak Ukrainian, so I wonder how I will get on ?
A very beautiful piece. Honestly it felt to short watching it. I wanted to see more and hear more of your personal impressions and thoughts. As you talked you were able to touch my heart. Thank you for that. You are giving me the opportunity to see my ancestral homeland through your eyes and of course your film crew.
Almost every place in the world has beautiful people, traditions, and scenery. Ukraine due to the sadness of the Putin invasion has been able to draw attention to its positive points. Another subscription added.

Another beautiful, heartfelt, and informative video. Keep them coming!
🇺🇸❤️🇺🇦💙💛
I wanted to visit Ukraine before the war.
I have visited the Carpathian mountain's twice within the past few year's, absolutely beautiful. I will definitley go back again soon. Slava Ukraina! 💙💛
Це гарні гори, лише за красу та атмосферу.. Where are you from?
I am from Canada my heritage and root's are from Ukraine and the Carpathian mountains.
@@Vera6862 Hi Vera. Did you visit a particular village? I'm looking for suggestions before I go. Taras in the US.
I like the dance.Been to Kyiv but I want to see this Carpathian...My friend from Kolomiya says its stunning..
Brynza, vurda / brânza , urda in Transylvania. Ucraine/ Romania ❤
What a beautiful episode! Well done, team! Many thanks for your work! Please keep going while we support you :)
Amazing presentation. What a wonderful place you share with us. Best wishes to your people.
Beautiful. Lemko Ukrainian Americans need to learn more.
Комусь справді варто повернутися в Україну,
щоб творити дива..
Omg looks amazing, I'm in kyiv now ,I've always wanted to see the carpithians mountains, they look amazing
Wow, you make lovely natural video. I'm sold, I want to come. I want to support Ukraine, but is it right to be a tourist at this time? I also don't speak Ukrainian, so I wonder how I will get on ?
Enjoyed the video very much. As to your question at the end, I’m guessing two times.
Thank you for sharing this with us all. I am just one of America's supporters of all of you from here in Southern California, USA. Slava Ukraini...
Молодець, guys. Молодець!
