just discovered you and i know how to play alot of the songs you have tutorials for but man i love your personality so i always just watch all the way through anyway
oh man love playing this song on bass, never really tried to play it on my guitar though, now that youve made the tutorial i think i'll sit down and learn it.
Actually sitting with guitar. Barely minute and a half in you say "then jump to G 12 and bend." String breaks. Giggling uncontrollably. Here i sit all broken hearted. Came to play but barely started.
'twas in the air yesterday, I shot 53/39. on the front I decided to play safe golf, and on the back I decided to play adventure golf. I guess it's decided, adventure golf it is from now on.
Tom Morello songs are always fun, but this one is super fun! Don't fear, the non-Soundgarden, Soundgarden tuning Matt Cameron song is NOT Take the Long Way :)
I’m going to take a stab at this and say You Are. I’m not usually good at this detail stuff but I’ve been reading Henrik’s book and Stone and Mike give their highest praise to Riot Act their most complete album. So I’ve been having it on lately and You Are hits my ear balls as a touch odd tuning among other things.
@@klohr26 Whoops, I never got back to you on this, Kevin, my sincerest apologies! You'll be pleased to learn that You Are is, indeed, the non-Soundgarden, Soundgarden tuning Matt Cameron song! :) Most tabs and video lessons have You Are in CGCGBE, or even CGCGCE. However, there is one tiny segment of the song during which the G-ness of the B string is revealed, thus rendering it the Soundgarden tuning that we know and love from Head Down, Burden in My Hand, A Thousand Days Before, and many others. Your next challenge is this: Can you spot that tiny part of the song where the wonkyness of the double G strings is revealed? :)
@@songsfromthecanoe ok so here is the part that my shot in the dark gets revealed, I’m in over my head here. My best guess is at about the 1:43 mark with EdVed singing “Keeping us close (so close), on down the line” there is a guitar noodling on the thin strings. ..........and I’m spent.
Had some family over for a barbeque today. My nephew asked me to play this song just so he could sing: "Grilling in the name of... some of those who use sauces... are the same that burn sausage..." :)
I've watched a few live performances to try a figure out which position Tom is playing on the neck but he is usually spinning around using the guitar like a fly swatter. Thanks for clarifying. I can scrape the dead flies of my guitar and actually play the song now. I'd like to add my self to the list with the other folks hoping for the ukelele version as well!
I belted this song aloud while enjoying a game of billiards when I was younger, I was relieved when some aquainteces exited the men's room and backed me up in my revelry! Thanks Ryan😃👍
Watching this a year later. Just thinking maybe you could do some RATM/Audioslave updates with whammy. . .pitch shift shaturdays? Sundays were already taken. Softball Sondays. . .
The day before you uploaded this, my music teacher in school joked that we can play or sing anything for our practical, and since he knows i like RATM he joked "but no rage against the machine, therell be no f you i wont do what you tell me in this class." Kind of ironic
Fantastic tut. I can’t quite get the right sound from my amp and guitar, though. Maybe someone can help my out. I’m pretty new to guitar and I’ve got this Chavelle kinda cheap electric and a Bugera V22 Infinium amp. I’ve got an Vintage Overdrive pedal and an Ultimate Drive pedal. But I can’t figure out how to dial in the right sound, or close enough anyway.
that seems like a pretty cool amp - it sounds like the guitar is your weak link. I think I used a tubescreamer for this video through the blues jr. and that guitar has gibson burstbuckers in it.
Someone in the comments said they was scrolling comments after their string broke at 1:35 and I laughed cuz I thought they was joking. Turns out my string also broke at 1:35 :(
What the veg theme about? Are you planning to use some of the land between your house and mailbox for agriculture? Awesome lesson, takes me back to a medley of being 16 and watching the Matrix. Link to next RATM request - “Wake Up” please.
one of those three names was a real, then I couldn't resist. Ruthie has quite the plans laid for a massive food garden - the only thing we had time to put in the ground this year though was tomatoes (which have been delicious and plentiful) - and we put a bunch of blueberry and raspberry bushes in for future pillaging. Our neighbor has a pear tree (no partridge though) and our dog has eaten at least five dozen pears this summer.
i already knew this song but i had to re watch a couple of tutorials because i jst put the song to play over it and i couldn't stop hearing something of on the tune, like an slight out of tune strings. could it be or i just need a new tuner? (is not the low D string)
Also here’s a more technical analysis of this song. It doesn’t teach it but it explains a lot of it from a theory perspective. Probably came up in a lot of feeds of folks who just watched your lesson. ua-cam.com/video/CGt7fZQqEpU/v-deo.html

When's the campfire ukelele version coming?!
Yeah! When?!????
I'm still waiting on the rusty cage ukelele version. My string broke at around 1:35 so I'm just scrolling comments.
1:35 is a dangerous timestamp for strings. always has been, always will be.

Are you doing the campfire version tomorrow?
I'm sorry to say I don't think this is campfireable within any recognizable way. you'd just kind of play Dm and sing the song.
