    Hello, love the videos. So would your adaptor be able to throw a super 16mm m42 mount lens onto a full frame FX6 with no vignette?

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  Місяць тому

      It really depends on the lens. We've found that lenses 50mm and longer tend to have less vignette than wider lenses do, but with a lens made for a 16mm motion picture camera I can't say for sure how much vignette you'd get.

    need arca mount added to the FotodioX M42 Lens to Sony E-Mount please - Some m42 lenses are long and it would be a nice feature for support

    I liked on account of the content and the shirt. I am hoping to adapt a Mamiya/Sekor 55mm f1.4 to Sony. Cheers.

    Hi Sean,
    I've been enjoying your informative videos and infectious style of presentation. Here's a question regarding M42 adapters. Since beginning to reacquire some of the great old Super Takumar and SMC Takumar lenses to use on my EOS D-SLR and film bodies, as well as trying out a number of versions of the Helios 44 58mm f/2 lenses, I've been using the Fotodiox M42 to EOS adapters, both Type 1 and Type 2 depending on whether the lens has the auto pin that needs to be held in. This process has also led to acquiring an EARLY Helios 44. Beautifully restored, wonderful tactile aspect, lovely results. BUT - and this is where Fotodiox MIGHT come in - on both Fotodiox adapters, the markings on the lens (aperture, depth of field scale) line up exactly 90 degrees from where they should. Instead of at the top, they appear at 9 o'clock. Fine, I suppose for portraiture, but still a bit awkward. I asked the seller/reconditioner about this aspect and he told me it was because the original Helios 44's were L-39 mount and this is the consequence of adding the M42 adapter. Thus, with all the interest in these Soviet era hidden gems, just wondering if you and your company have encountered this issue - and if you've considered designing an M42 adapter that might be machined to compensate for this, and allow such lenses to mount with their markings "right-side-up." With the interest in such lenses, I have to think it would be a worthwhile addition to your product line.
    Thanks!

      @FotodioxInc  3 роки тому

      Hi Steve, thanks for the kind words! We're aware of the issue, but I'll let our design team know that there's interest in a version of the adapter with a shifted thread so the tops of those lenses would be positioned correctly.

    Thanks for the great info. What is the crop factor when you use these lenses on a Sony A7???

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  3 роки тому

      There's no crop factor, because M42 lenses were made for full frame film cameras and the Sony A7 has a full frame sensor.

      @@FotodioxInc the thread is too small and the vintage lens doesn't screw into the m42-fx adapter... Hi there,
    Hope you are well.
    I have a question. I have a Minolta SR1 and I would like to buy a Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm f2.4 (M42). On the camera body, I have different operation for the auto aperture than I should have to operate the auto aperture on the lens (on the lens I have a pin to push, on the camera I have a pin, moving left and right, so nothing will push the pin on the lens for operation).
    I can buy a minolta p adapter to fit the lens on the camera, but I do not find anything to be able to keep the auto aperture works.
    Do you have any solution or idea how could I keep it?
    Rgds:
    Tamas

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately we don't make any adapters that control the auto aperture of M42 lenses. Our V2 M42 adapters have a metal ring in them that constantly presses the auto aperture pin on the M42 lens so you can adjust the lens's aperture manually, but that's all they do.

    Please come up with a better and much more improved version of the fotodiox pronto adapter for sony e mount. I use it, it works good but i am not Fully satisfied with the performance of the adaptor. Its been an very very useful thing ever since i got it. Please come up with an much more improved version of it so the autofocus works just as flawless like the native sony lenses. If it happens then we can shoot videos with vintage lenses with adapter with continuous autofocus. Please fotodiox, come up with a much more improved version of the adaptor. Making vintage lenses getting autofocus, was a dream come true for me , and an improved version of the pronto adapter will just make my shooting process flawless.
