    Good stuff! I was going to make a street number mosaic on a 4 x 4 wood fence post. You answered my question as to whether or not it was a good idea.

    Julie, really enjoying your videos. I have just started watching them and there are A LOT of them, but so far, you have NOT said what SEALER you use for your OUTDOOR mosaics. I use Venetian glass tiles and glass bobbles and such. The sealer I used was great ... for about 6 months. Then it started to peal off and turn yellow (even though it said it would not). My mosaic is on the ground (it is the pool surround; all 70-80sf of it!). It took 4 years from start to finish. This past year and dug up and re-did a large portion of it due to the SEALER disaster. (Another eight months on my hands and knees!). Help please. What is the best, NOT PEALING, NON YELLOW outdoor sealer (I live in Mexico...so a lot of products are hard to get. ANY and MANY suggestions would be helpful. Thank you. Linda

    Hi Julie I just started doing mosaic . I resent made an Owl on a canvas and it's beans glued. I was wondering can I use polyurethane to seal it ? I love your work , you do good work 😊

    Thanks for the review! I like to use thinset (thick) for my adhesive in outdoor mosaics and not grout. Can you use mesh and not grout? Or do you have to always grout when using mesh?

    • @JulieWeilbacher
      @JulieWeilbacher  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi Dina! Same here regarding thick thinset and outdoor mosaics.🙌 Yes, you can tile on mesh, not grout, and then adhere it to its final substrate. Keep creating and I’m thankful you’re here.🔥

      Love your videos, Julie and the outtakes, too. Keeps me watching until the end. Can you show us how to attach a mosaic done on mesh to the substrate? Like a terra cotta planter or a concrete block? I’m working in a small space and working on mesh would take up less space than having the actual piece on my worktop. And … I’d love to make a garden totem. Any ideas on what to use for the pole (I’ve seen PVC) but how do you make that stand up securely in the yard? Thanks for any help you can give me.

    I told my self I would not ever be doing mosaics, after some years I had amassed over a hundred pounds of bits pieces, chips and leftovers. I gave away most of it. The person I gave it to ground down some edges, wirewrapped it on kitchen utensils and made a good bit of money on ETSY. fast foreward twenty some years I have over three hundred pounds of bits, pieces, leftovers and parts. thinking of going leadless, mosaic form glass on glass , also considering maybe giving some away again. If I do that it will be to someone who is already in the mosaic world
