Zone 9 does not feel real man, I have so much jealousy over the talent in the people that could build these things These towers feel so surreal and impossible, I have no idea how a mind can even think about these towers, and to actually build them is beyond my comprehension. If this ends up being the direction JToH goes in I don’t know what to think, these towers are amazing, but almost too amazing for them to feel like a silly tower game I had already enjoyed before, but to the builders, I hope they know of their impeccable abilities that are going to be displayed here.

We’ll look at me now, playing through that adventure and having a blast. This goes beyond 50/50. Yet, there is ONE more tower that I think is better. 1. ToHR - this is it. this tower CROSSES ALL LIMITS OF DESIGN, CREATIVITY, GAMEPLAY, ENJOYMENT, AND MUSIC. Lemme begin with design. Of course we all know the design is mind blowing, but what I didn’t know is that it has a SECRET ENDING where you do the tower without lives and do an obby. Looking for a new challenge on ToHR? Do that. Creativity; well well well, while ToNN was the most creative thing ever, ToHR is definitely 2nd place. Every floor or two, a new mechanic is introduced, meaning that just when you thought you saw it all, you get thrown with NEW CLIENT OBJECTS (you’re lucky they’re easy to learn, otherwise…) This tower is also easy to sightread (somehow especially considering this tower is infested with cos) The winroom is wild, you’ve got text congratulating you, decorations, you name it. As for music, banger ALL THE WAY (I wish old f9-10 just stayed that woulda been the only way to make this tower better). And the gameplay. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HOW AMAZING IT IS. ITS EVEN A TOWER THAT IS SPEEDRAN BY MANY TOO, SO THAT SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE TOWER. And yeah, overall gameplay is just the single best thing ever and just never ever gets boring from the first time you play to the time you get the wr. It really isn’t the perfect area, while there is good towers the issue I have is the fact of how overused the gp style is, all these towers feel so similar to zone 7-8 towers and the only tower I’ve really liked is ToHR

Ight you know what, might not be a bad idea to tip my 5 cents in and give my own input. NOTE: TOWWW AND TOEMP ARE GONNA BE EXCLUDED BECAUSE I'M NOT SKILLED ENOUGH TO BEAT THEM LEGIT. ToDTD: For the first tower, it gives a pretty good impression of the zone! The night and day mechanics are used in really unique ways, and I never knew how they were gonna be used next. One questionable gameplay choice though is floors 9-10, since falling below 10 means you have to repeat floor 9 again, with no button progress to help with it. Overall cool tower but 9-10 are a bit questionable. 8/10 ToLS: I'm not really big on it, what I will praise is the good story, and overall effort put into the tower, but it's really just not for me. Because there's not much risk of progress loss to the experience, it's kind of one of those "you eat it up quickly and forget about it afterward" experiences (and tbh half of zones 7-8 feel like that too). The mechanics are good, and the general world building that Mario did, but I'm generally not big on it. 4.5/10 ToABCD: Do you know what's so special about white? Any colour can be projected onto it, which is exactly what the creator did! There's just so much excellent stuff in this tower, the dynamite section, the dreams, the general gameplay mechanic, it's generally a must-see for this zone. 9/10 ToBL: I was blown away seeing the very first instance of the lever, and everything that followed was just as excellent! Great gameplay that is well polished? Check! A really unique aesthetic that makes it stand out among other towers? Check! The zone crossing and bossfight? Like a cherry on the cake! This tower is definitely a must-see. 8.5/10 ToSRD: I kind of have a soft spot for open towers, but when you mix it with speed, you get something amazing. The z platforms, the uses of vines, the unique gameplay style, oh my god Noob1928 aced it! 8.5/10 ToFU: This tower is right up my alley. It doesn't prioritise decoration over gameplay, it's very unforgiving with mistakes not being tolerated, but it's also the perfect length for me. The mechanics too may be some of my favourite in the whole game, spring platforms/vines, platforms that ascend, this tower utilised them as best as it could. This is genuinely perfect and I cannot express that enough. 10/10 ToNN: ... It was everything, it was nothing, it was nostalgic, it was horrifying, it was beautiful, it was incomprehensible, it was lucid, it was overwhelming. ... 10/10, this really made me interested in the tower's original inspiration, MyHouse.wad. Having watched it, I can definitely say I'm growing a soft spot for non-eucludian dreamcore. ToFCB: No seriously, why does this have the best gameplay EVER MADE by x-pushers? Plus it's unforgiving with it's softlocks? EXTREMELY OPEN WITH MASSIVE JUMPS?!?!?! PEAK SOUNDTRACK?!?!?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH 10/10 ToEC: This tower only has 2 mechanics that particularly caught my eye, those being the reverse controls and the vine redirects. Everything else is just typical modern tower gameplay, with nothing interesting. The design is good, but the tower itself is a bit of a nothing-burger. 4.5/10 I HAVE NOT BEATEN EVERYTHING (EXCEPT TOHR) PAST THIS POINT LEGIT, TAKE THESE WITH A GRAIN OF SALT! CoIC: Yes. All that I need to say, YES! Classic gameplay that charms me immensely, mixed in with modern mechanics, AND IT'S EXTREMELY WELL POLISHED TOO?!?! THANK YOU SO MUCH STAFF FOR ALLOWING THIS INGAME!!!!! 10/10 ToMF WAITER! WAITER! MORE TOWERS THAT TAKE UP MAXIMUM SPACE PLEASE!!!!! These are some of the most creative client object combinations I've ever seen, and that says something considering how mid zones 7-8 were. Coupled with an excellent theme that sets it's risks well? I am charmed for sure, well done Extrazany. 10/10 ToBBBB This may end up being my #1 favourite in the zone, lemme explain. Short towers are right up my alley, but make them speedrunnable in a way that not only allows, BUT ENCOURAGES FAST PLAY?!?!?!?! This is my cup of tea alright. 10/10 ToVITE: I'm glad my wish of more open towers was granted, now I can appreciate this zone more than I already do. Really good mechanics, an amazing theme and soundtrack, and amazing combinations of said mechanics. If Zachwro does continue making towers, I'm curious to see where his endeavours lead him next. 9/10 ToHR: Yes, I've done this one legit. I'm not into memory based towers, sorry. I mean I do enjoy the gameplay of this tower, but to have to figure out every nook and cranny of each setup is a pain in the ass. And I know there's gonna be the argument of "oh but it's an SC tower, everyone's gonna be practicing it before doing legit attempts", well there's a line when too much practice is required for it to be fun, a line which this tower crosses. 5.5/10 ToPB: Done several all jumps, but not done any legit attempts on this yet (and I may wait for it to be moved to Extreme until doing so) I'm extremely concerned about this one, the difficulty possibly branching into extreme isn't the issue, it's the ToUA syndrome that it has with button progress. On the one hand this problem is countered with the softlock on 2, but on the other, thats the only instance where you can lose your run. Me personally, I'd much rather have my run ended, then be forced to continue playing so that I don't lose major button progress. 3/10 No ToWWW and ToEMP for the reasons I mentioned at the start of this comment. OVERALL RANKING: #15: ToPB #14: ToLS #13: ToEC #12: ToHR #11: ToDTD #10: ToSRD #9: ToBL #8: ToVITE #7: ToMF #6: ToABCD #5: CoIC #4: ToNN #3: ToFU #2: ToFCB #1: ToBBBB

I’ve seen you complain about this before and I don’t understand where you’re coming from. Every tower has its own unique gameplay, even if they use the same client objects, they all have their own unique way of dragging out the style. If you mean specifically tech gameplay with double jumps and zip lines, there are plenty of towers without that style in this zone: CoIC, ToBBBB, ToFU, ToWWW, ToNN, ToPB, ToDTD, ToLS. I don’t see what you mean lmfao

The only towers I would have liked to see in the zone were the ToTHT (but yes, ToPB deserved it more) and the Tower of Shadowed Nexus (that made me very sad)

citadel being so low is a crime (In my personal opinion) also tohr is really bad for me because 1. the new gameplay does not blend in at all 2. it has a few bugs although not many 3. the mechanics are unique but the gp can be really boring and sometimes jank

Honestly, z9 is amazing. But the problem is that every tower feels very similar. It is this repeating generic modern style used in z7-z8 where every tower tries too hard to have a creative frame or concept. Focusing too much on creativity and design, rather than gameplay. every tower feeling very similar is probably the exact opposite of the case. you have to also take into perspective that most builders are limited to the same client objects. like just because you see one zipline with rope distance zero doesnt mean the tower is generic.

on the contrary, builders like us going up against the really good towers, like ToHR or ToNN, have a really difficult time. But, I guess that's what happens when the competition is survival of the fittest.

For the first tower, it gives a pretty good impression of the zone!
The night and day mechanics are used in really unique ways, and I never knew how they were gonna be used next. One questionable gameplay choice though is floors 9-10, since falling below 10 means you have to repeat floor 9 again, with no button progress to help with it. Overall cool tower but 9-10 are a bit questionable. 8/10
ToLS:
I'm not really big on it, what I will praise is the good story, and overall effort put into the tower, but it's really just not for me.
Because there's not much risk of progress loss to the experience, it's kind of one of those "you eat it up quickly and forget about it afterward" experiences (and tbh half of zones 7-8 feel like that too). The mechanics are good, and the general world building that Mario did, but I'm generally not big on it. 4.5/10
ToABCD:
Do you know what's so special about white? Any colour can be projected onto it, which is exactly what the creator did!
There's just so much excellent stuff in this tower, the dynamite section, the dreams, the general gameplay mechanic, it's generally a must-see for this zone. 9/10
ToBL:
I was blown away seeing the very first instance of the lever, and everything that followed was just as excellent!
Great gameplay that is well polished? Check! A really unique aesthetic that makes it stand out among other towers? Check! The zone crossing and bossfight? Like a cherry on the cake! This tower is definitely a must-see. 8.5/10
ToSRD:
I kind of have a soft spot for open towers, but when you mix it with speed, you get something amazing.
The z platforms, the uses of vines, the unique gameplay style, oh my god Noob1928 aced it! 8.5/10
ToFU:
This tower is right up my alley. It doesn't prioritise decoration over gameplay, it's very unforgiving with mistakes not being tolerated, but it's also the perfect length for me. The mechanics too may be some of my favourite in the whole game, spring platforms/vines, platforms that ascend, this tower utilised them as best as it could. This is genuinely perfect and I cannot express that enough. 10/10

Yes, I've done this one legit.
I'm not into memory based towers, sorry. I mean I do enjoy the gameplay of this tower, but to have to figure out every nook and cranny of each setup is a pain in the ass. And I know there's gonna be the argument of "oh but it's an SC tower, everyone's gonna be practicing it before doing legit attempts", well there's a line when too much practice is required for it to be fun, a line which this tower crosses. 5.5/10
ToPB:
Done several all jumps, but not done any legit attempts on this yet (and I may wait for it to be moved to Extreme until doing so)
I'm extremely concerned about this one, the difficulty possibly branching into extreme isn't the issue, it's the ToUA syndrome that it has with button progress. On the one hand this problem is countered with the softlock on 2, but on the other, thats the only instance where you can lose your run. Me personally, I'd much rather have my run ended, then be forced to continue playing so that I don't lose major button progress. 3/10

I’ve seen you complain about this before and I don’t understand where you’re coming from. Every tower has its own unique gameplay, even if they use the same client objects, they all have their own unique way of dragging out the style.
If you mean specifically tech gameplay with double jumps and zip lines, there are plenty of towers without that style in this zone: CoIC, ToBBBB, ToFU, ToWWW, ToNN, ToPB, ToDTD, ToLS.

Honestly, z9 is amazing. But the problem is that every tower feels very similar. It is this repeating generic modern style used in z7-z8 where every tower tries too hard to have a creative frame or concept. Focusing too much on creativity and design, rather than gameplay.

every tower feeling very similar is probably the exact opposite of the case. you have to also take into perspective that most builders are limited to the same client objects. like just because you see one zipline with rope distance zero doesnt mean the tower is generic.
