The 3 albums they have released (besides the EPs) are a trilogy. To best experience it in my opinion is to listen to everything in order so you can understand the story vessel is writing. However the albums are absolutely phenomenal either way if you choose to listen in order or not. Its a big discography to go through so if you dont want to go through it i completely understand lol although theres going to be some callbacks in their recent songs that you may not understand if you haven't listened to everything before. I think will be important for you to know that all of this is written by just one person, except for the drums. Vessel (the singer) writes guitar, bass, synths, piano, vocal melodies and songwriting and is co-producer. The drums are written by II (drummer band's name). III (bass) and IV (guitar) are members of the band but they only play live, Vessel writes the stuff

Ah, to have liquid courage! 😂😂😂 Yeah, i knew you would dig this song. Lol it's got something for everyone from metal-rock, ambient chords and piano (yeah you heard right 👍)to R&B-funk! Yes, it's in the same category as Pink Floyd. The Wall was wicked. Queensryche also had similar themes with Operation Mind Crime LPs. Its as you say ,not unheard of but totally rare to have very talented musicians that are unique in their sound regardless of genres and then their lore makes them even more intriguing. They have garnered the attention of the world by going viral and elevated their status as a band that entertains the shit out of you while performing live and pouring so much energy into the music to make people lose their minds. I was so bummed I wouldn't be able to see them live. So i have binged all the concert footage that's on UA-cam of their tour this summer and i must say, they are probably one of the best bands I have ever heard live. And I've seen A LOT of bands. Whew...that got me all excited! I will definitely be waiting for the next tour and i WILL see them live!! Glad you enjoyed the song. Something that tells me about all this mix genres apart from making them stand out for refreshing the scene, is that they really enjoy what they are doing, all these changes in the song structure and not following patterns tells me between the lines that they enjoy it and have fun doing it without leaving aside how serious and well executed their art is as a final result
Someone said in a reaction I saw before that it seems Vessel makes the music he wants to hear disregarding what is "right" or follows the "rules" and I just thinks that's what makes this music so great. Each song is a story on its on like a chapter in a book that's part of a series. 🖤🖤

3:49 no one can say for sure what this is about but I think the visual art as well as all the rest of the art around the band is secondary. The focus is primarily in the music. The images could probably best be described as icons. They are meant to enhance the imaginary experience. The mystery of it all. Everything down to the names of the members the masks. The videos yada yada. It’s suppose to be an immersive imaginary experience. Today almost all bands and art aim to give you all the answers and deprive you of mystery. This is fine, it just gets old. Sleep token taps into something missing. It’s a huge open market and I’m glad they are cornering it. It’s renting me off when I was a kid and I’d open a CD and not know anything about the band. I was meant to research things off I wanted to know more. And much of what I would find would be myth or lore. Any who great reaction
