I just want to add a fact that most people conveniently choose to ignore...Ukraine isn't even in the same hemisphere as the US and when you go out of your way that far to "intercede" in the name of "defense" how justified are you vs the people who actually live in that area and are directly affected by war?
I'd like to see you poll every person in Ukraine to see if they are open to the utter desolation of their entire country and deaths of their friends and families for NATO membership vs neutrality.
Neutrality with a neighbouring superpower that never recognised a country's independence leads to annexations like what happened in the Crimea or twice in Georgia since the collapse of the USSR.
Rather than widely spending the billions of euros earned from excessive oil & gas prices since the foolish US invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, Putin's Russia has decided to turn that export wealth into mobile armour, artillery shells, AK47s & better equipped troupes rather than address the lowest average life expectancy of men in the Western world, under 60, & try to modernise the 2nd world nation that's close to 1 Million Covid deaths, easily as much as across Europe yet the population difference is 4 to 5 times less than Europe.

When West side of Ukraine with support of US&EU move legally choosen president and bring law to forbiden Russian language,East side of country who was always pro russian start rebelion.We speak about millions of people who are against Kiev government and what we have in Ukraine is civil war,West side of country who is supported by US&Nato(not all members,some of them openly blaim US for all this tensions) against East side of country supported by Russia&Belorussia.
Russia will not let Kiev atack that rebels same like US protect rebels all around the globe(from former Yugoslavia,Iraq,Syria and list go on).

NATO has pushed right up to Russia's border and want to give weapons to Ukrainian civilians to fight against "invading Russia". All these drills are in retaliation to NATO's advancement. You know since 2014, NATO has expanded into 14 different EU countries in some way, basically putting military pressure on Russia.
