ICDJ TROUBLESHOOTING IN ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE

    Close BLDJ, press BLRDJ, LSDJ lamp remains glowing.-It is ICDJ (Impossibility to close DJ).Re check safety relay targets, Ensure MR/RS pressure in between 8 to 10 Kg/cm2 , BLDJ is closed, LSGR glowing and ZPT is in other than 'O' position. Probale Defects Solution Description
    IF LSGR EXTINGUISHED
    Close BLDJ, press BLRDJ, LSDJ lamp remains glowing.-It is ICDJ (Impossibility to close DJ).Re check safety relay targets, Ensure MR/RS pressure in between 8 to 10 Kg/cm2 , BLDJ is closed, LSGR glowing and ZPT is in other than 'O' position. IF LSGR GLOWING
    Stand near C118. Ask the Assistant Loco Pilot to close BLDJ and press BLRDJ. Listen to the closing sound of C118. IF C118/S118 CLOSING
    Ensure air control cut out cock is open, RDJ drain cock closed (if provided) Check DJ/VCB for any air leakage & VCB pressure regulator gauge is showing more than 4.8 kg/ cm2, if visible. Ensure RS pressure is in between 8 to 10 kg/ cm2.MR/RS PRESSURE IS LESS THAN 8KG/CM2 RS PRESSURE IS EXCESS (MORE THAN 10.0 KG/CM2)
    Drain out full RS pressure and re-build RS Pressure to 8 kg/cm². Then close DJ.C118 NOT CLOSING IF BA VOLTAGE LESS
    Operate HBA switch few times
    IF BA VOLTAGE NIL ie ZERO.
    Replace the additional CCBA fuse provided in BA box No.-1/reset the MCB.BA voltage is more than 80 Volts IIF Q-118 NOT ENERGISED
    Check CCBA, CCPT one by one
    Ensure the opening of C105,106 & C107.IF CCBA or CCPT melted
    Renew the melted fuse. Close DJ.
    If unsuccessful - Check the fuse and fuse carrier again.
    If fuse melts again- Put HOBA in “OFF” position
    [in all the Locos of MU/Consist].
    Clean the fuse carrier base, Renew the fuse and resume traction.
    If fuse melts again- request for assistance.If CCBA and CCPT are good
    Close BLDJ & BLVMT, manually operate Q-118 and Close DJ by BLRDJ/BP2DJ.
    Release Q118 after all the blowers start or after one minute and resume traction.
    If unsuccessful - Take safety measures.
    Ensure C118 is open.
    Wedge Q118 and close DJ.
    Resume traction - clear block section. Observe the working of all auxiliaries.
    On arrival at station - Take safety measures.
    Remove the wedge of Q118.
    After operating few times,
    put HVMT-1, HVMT-2, HVSL-1, HVSL-2, HPH, HVRH, on position III, and HQCVAR on ‘0’.
    If Q-118 is energized :
    Put back all the above switches in position-1 one by one. Observe Q-118.
    If Q-118 gets de-energised: Put back that switch on position-III. Resume traction. Observe the working of auxiliary whose switch is kept on position-III.
    In case HPH is kept on position ‘0’ - Continue traction with
    Starting - 920 Amps for 10 minutes and Continuous - 500 Amps
    If Q118 is still de-energised- Request for assistance and inform LC.If Q-118 is energized
    PRESS BLRDJ/BP2DJ OBSERVE Q45 & Q44 NOT ENERGISED
    Check CCDJ fuse. If melted, renew the fuse and if again melted keep HOBA in ‘OFF’ position and try.
    If CCDJ fuse is good-
    Change the position of ZPT & Ensure GR on ‘O’.
    Operate GR manually from ‘0’ to ‘1’ and back to ‘0’ a few times.
    Close BLDJ, press BLRDJ/BP2DJ - Close DJ.
    If still Q-45 not energized - Ensure GR on ‘O’, BLDJ closed, ZPT other than ‘0’ and operate Q-45 manually.
    Release Q45 after LSCHBA goes out. Resume traction.
    Every time for closing DJ, Operate Q45 manually.
    If DJ does not close -
    Don’t release Q45. Check Q44.
    If Q44 is energized -
    Try from other cab.
    If DJ closed - Resume traction.
    Clear the block section, observing the GR & SR in force.
    If unsuccessful - Request for assistance.F Q44 ALONE NOT ENERGISED
    Operate GR manually from ‘O’ to ‘1’ and back few times.
    Ensure GR ‘O’ by anticlockwise movement.
    Close DJ by BLRDJ/BP2DJ -
    Resume traction.
    If unsuccessful -
    Close both Q45 & Q44 manually. Release Q44 & Q45 after LSCHBA goes out.Resume traction.
    If unsuccessful - Request for assistance. ON MANUAL OPERATION OF Q44
    Put HVSI-1 & HVSI-2 on position-III, Close DJ, Take one traction notch and wait for 15 secs.
    If the load permits -
    Clear the block section by leading loco and
    if load does not permit to do so-
    On leading loco- Ensure BLSN is in normal/Up position.
    Operate BLSN few times.
    Ensure Pantograph is raised on trailing loco.
    Close DJ. Resume traction.
    If unsuccessful - Tap gently on the BL board near BLSN switch.
    Close DJ- Resume traction.
    If unsuccessful again -
    While going to the defective trailing loco.
    (In which LSGRPT remains glowing)
    Keep leading loco in energized condition, with BLVMT closed.
    Ensure proper fitness of the MU jumpers connected between locos.
    On defective trailing loco press BP2DJ and Close DJ. To
