It's Ork McCoy!! Awesome job. Just started binging through some of your videos and had to stop to comment on this one. This conversion is pretty much perfect imo. GW needs more models like this instead of just piling on more details. THIS has character.
@AnotherDayMiniatures Here's an idea.Try to make korne Demon. From other Series. D&D DC Demons, Beast, and Monsters 👽 for example, using a Killer Croc model for a bloodthirster?
That came out great.. Love the idea of mixing 2 fandoms together to get a custom Kitbash.. On that front.. anyone else now intrigued to see what The Incredible Hulk would look like as a custom Ork??
Thanks! The marvel miniatures have a surprisingly high level of quality to them, it was a blast making it. The hulk one has two models that both have me very tempted to give it a go sometime :D
It's surprisingly fun and best part is that they work with plastic glue. They also have some nice sales from time to time. I found some models earlier at 30% off.
@@KaijuBiologistThat would have been great. I didn't have any pieces at the time, but I recently found some while making the grot tank that could fit that idea in the future.
If you ever plan on painting rust, here's what I'd recommend doing: 1. Basecoat something you want to be rusty with a dark brown, then stipple or drybrush on a more reddish brown/burnt sienna color, and finally stipple on a fiery orange (you could try experimenting with mixing the colors between steps to possibly make a gradient, if you want to) 2. Basically the same as the first way, but you could try to water down some of the orange paint to create a wash consistency and apply the orange wash over the dark brown/reddish brown basecoat, once that's dry, you can drybrush some silver all over the piece while the dried orange rust wash is left in the recesses Hope that helps
That's great advice, appreciated mate! I was really hoping that mixing the two would create almost a contrast rust effect, but I underestimated just how good the metal color range is. It entirely overpowered the matte orange. There were a few areas where the effect worked a tiny amount, and I think with a bit of experimentation, it could work.
Cheers! Flow Improver first then Contrast. You only need to dip it once per color since a small amount is enough to keep the paint flowing better and dry a bit slower.
I just use 90% isopropyl alcohol. It works instantly, and I've never had any issues with it. However, you do need to wear gloves and be in a well-ventilated area because the fumes are very powerful.

I hope you don't mind me commenting again, but I just wanted to say that if I ever get my hands on one of the two Hulk minis from Marvel Crisis Protocol (either the standard Hulk mode or the more dynamic one that's leaping in the air to smash stuff) and kitbash them into one big angry Warboss with a massive Choppa and a big combi-shoota!
This video was stuck in my head for a while. So, hear me out... The other day I finally got my hands on Thanos for Crisis Protocol, and I happen to look and realize it was approximately the size of a Primarch. Which got me to thinking... You should try to convert Thanos into a Krork.
True scale simply refers to the size of the model on the tabletop relative to what is said to be in the lore. Space marines for example are nearly twice the height of a guardsman but on the tabletop they can be only a head taller.

Thanks mate! Yeah, some of their recent models felt a bit over designed.
That turned out great. I was skeptical at a couple points but you saw the vision.
Thanks! I'm just glad the arm went on so well. I was extra worried that I would cut too much of it off and have no other options.
Do more Marvel Crisis Protacal conversations please 🙏🙏🙏
I love this. This is great not using GW models and just using parts. very cool!
😀

That could be interesting, yet to make any demons. I'll try to keep it in mind for the future. Cheers!
You can make really good stripes and belts with making tape , I think you should try it for backpacks next time !
@user-xf2mg2ou9g Thanks for the tip, i'll have to test that out, just need to find where I left my roll of masking tape.
Ah nice!! I was just contemplating how to kitbash the Hulk in to a war boss. Great timing
He is a good chose for one too
Cheers! I was looking at the Hulk models earlier as well. Both of the options they have could make a super awesome Ork.

Really really cool kitbash and i liked a lot the final skin look
Thanks!
Brilliant model to kitbash, I might have to grab some Marvel figures just to see what I can make with them.

Great conversion and paintjob, that Ork flesh looks excellent with the colors you used 👌
Thanks! I was a bit worried that the final step of applying a bit of that desaturated orange might ruin it, but I'm glad it worked out 😄
Great work!
Really liked your painting method with contrast paints.
thanks! :)
It's a Mutant AND a Xeno, really stoking that Imperium hatred with this one 😂
Black Templars: *Literally foaming at the mouth* :D
Shoulda put in some lightning effects or similar to make him a BrainBoyz and gone for the trifecta.

@@AnotherDayMiniatures Glad I could help
great video, loved this kitbash!
😃 Cheers mate!
Looked amazing - Great job!
Thanks mate!
Awesome
Cheers!
DIP IN FLOW IMPROVER BEFORE USING CONTRAST THAT’S GENIUS
Simple but effective :)
loooooks awesome!
Thanks 🤘
This came out great 👍🏼
Thanks mate :D
Definitely a cool build
😀 Thanks
This is a great video
Thank you!
...you can use elastic bands, cut to fit, for backpack straps
That's an interesting one, could also do something similar with yarn. Damn, great suggestion!

very nice conversion !
Thanks :D
Looks great!
Thanks!
Very cool, have you considered trying out pistachio green paint as an orkish highlight?
Cheers! I have a few orks I tested it on, it's a great look.
That worked so well
Looks awesome! When you use the flow improver do you dip it first or the paint?

No problem, Thanks!
Mini zip ties for straps is a thought that came to me as I watched this, heading to home depot asap
The size would be perfect, I'll have to remember to try that. Cheers!
Awesome idea!
Thanks 👍
you did an amazing job but you absolutely should have gotten a kommandos box for this as well
Damn you are good. Excellent job.
😄🤘
What do you use to strip paint? I need to for tons of models but get conflicting advice

I'd say you should've painted his armor purple, but then we wouldn't actually be able to see the beautiful model you've just made.
He already took most of his armor off to blend in with the environment, purple would just be unfair to humies. 😃
😮😮😮😮 loved this 🔥🤘❤️
Cheers! :D

why do you use the thickest clippers? there are dozens that are smaller, more precise, and able to chop through big pieces of plastic...
I like my hedge shearers 😂
It kinda looks like a vidicare assassin
Celestial Lions sure think so 😄
I play X-Men in MCP and it hurt me to see Beast beheaded like that
On the bright side, this makes him one of the good guys again 😄
Sorry I’m just getting Stripper Ork vibes
🤣👍 That gave me a good laugh, cheers mate.

The Ork anatomy is already "true scale." Since Orks don't follow human anatomy.
True scale simply refers to the size of the model on the tabletop relative to what is said to be in the lore. Space marines for example are nearly twice the height of a guardsman but on the tabletop they can be only a head taller.
Beast has gone on to a better place
