I'm using extra option mod to let ai racer have any kind of car. To be honest the civic cruiser is really fast car. And if put on hard difficulty they can sometimes really floor away if you don't have drafter with you. They do skid occasionally but that's mostly on a sharp turns. Or if you somehow assign a drafter with police cruiser. The police corvette is fast as well but they're not so fast on long straight due to limited top speed. AI with fire trucks do the worst. But their driving on dump truck can be decent. If Mazda 3 or Nissan 240sx or muscle cars is not present than they can technically stay on 3rd place for most of the time if not abused by blockers. On straight road the Lexus does the worst since it's technically slowest car out of all. Even Mazda RX8 beats it (as you probably felt on bronze canyon challenge event for newbies)
NGL I'd play an entire arcade racer with NFS Carbon drift physics as its basic driving mode. I know that they kinda did something similar with NFS after a while where it's all about drifting like it was a fucking kart racer, but I want NFS carbon drift physics instead, where you still go fast as shit and somehow still can control the car.
