Very happy to see you covering Levelhead. It's flying way under the radar. I hope you continue to feature it.
Ok this genuinely looks absolutely fantastic, how did I not hear about this game before ? I'm instantly buying it, it's refreshing to see a maker game so developped !
@@christines5052 Wow such games are perfect for the Switch. I'm hyped, it's looks great.

How does ceave always make great videos? Well, it’s surprisingly simple!
Actually, it’s super easy, barely a convenience.
He just listens to his fans for fun things to see, and follows his heart in what to share.
How do you make an original joke on this channel?
I'll let you figure it out yourself.
Ceave is not just only a very good SMM player, creator and youtuber, but allso a wonderful person! Thx for beeing here, Ceave!
I really like the marketing department functionality. I hope they add something similar in Mario Maker 2.
inb4 "5 Things Levelhead 2 should learn from Super Mario Maker 2"
5 things Hotel Mario should learn from Sonic 06
(I apologize for this)
4:45 your editing is SO good here!
i think he just screenshotted that and used ms paint and used the straight line tool
Interesting that you uploaded just after the MM2 direct was announced.
Watch tomorrow's direct de-confirm literally all of these features.
I can imagine someone at Nintendo watching this video and feeling very awkward.
wariolandgoldpiramid or watch it confirm all these features and MORE. That would be cool.
It confirms some features, and honestly probably all the features in SMM2, but I hope there are more features.
Locking the screen to a certain area has actually been confirmed!
When Ceave explained how the promoting system works, I legit came close to spitting out my drink. That’s so brilliant!
I would love a 'Play a random level' in Super Mario Maker 2
SturmGamerxD724 DE
but you should be able to choose the difficulty and the time it took the creator to upload/world record if there is one.
Go into endless, load the first level, exit the level, go to your recently played, then select the level. It’s a long process but it works
I DO feel like a package delivering robot and I WANT to click the subscribe button, but I can't.
I only see a button that says "SUBSCRIBED".
Who's here in 2020 that got the LevelHead for the Switch that came out today?
5:27 *2nd item on the list is lowkey waluigi, our brother in spirit and overall god.*
i saw this on a ad, and i was INSTANTLY hooked
A game called Geometry Dash also has a really amazing editor. This game already has multiple features talked about in this video (assigning frequenties/groups to objects only much more advanced, quick respawn times with options how long the death animation lasts, camera manipulation (in the upcoming update) and a very nice online system, and much more) and I think you should check it out!
After watching the direct I can say:
1 We only get the 2 states of red and blue, on the bright side you can use on a lot of things at once.
2 Nintendo hasn't said anything about death animations. Likely to be the same as the first one.
3 We have fixed cameras! Yes!!!
4 Apparently thr sequel is going to be a bit more competitive. But no thing as convoluted as level head.
5 There is going to be an on game currency, hopefully we will able to use it to promote levels. But I don't really know.
In conclusion. It certainly improved, but there is still room for improvement for Super Mario maker.
BTW: It's impressive the pulish of level head habbing on account that it was made by 5 people.
I think you could see that mario respawns faster than in SMM (at least in online multiplayer)
Awesome! Now I have 2 games where I can take insane levels where ever I want and play them with friends to look forward to :3
The problem with showing the record times for levels you encounter in 100 Mario Challenges is that the time can be a spoiler - if the level looks like it's going to be long but the best time is under 1 minute, you already know there is cheese before you even go looking for it. This breaks things like the troll red coin levels where it turns out that the red coins were a red herring all along and you really needed to do something tricky to find a hidden exit.
This video is basically an advertisement for Levelhead, yet it’s great!
--7:25 Wait. . . if you try 500 times in order to beat the level. You would only have to load in after death 499, there is no death on the 500th try if thats the try we beat it on. Common Ceave, why you lie to us like that with your false numbers?
@Pacvalham I'm guessing you were doing a "surprisingly simple" joke- if not, meh
"Mario, analysis"
All of these feel like they fit perfectly into Mario Maker, great job! Fingers crossed for the SMM2 Direct tomorrow, maybe some of these ideas made it in.
Will you try these challanges is smm2 in the future pls?
Most lag possible
Highest possible score
Mushroom Kingdom championship 2019
A mario maker 1-ben is jók voltak azok a videók
szóval remélem újracsinálja a második játékban is
no question about the championship, but I reckon the high score would be interesting to compare and the lag would probably also be quite cool as there are more assets and may even have higher limits
Throwing the package then grappling at around 6:12 reminds me so much of the part in Celeste where Theo is trapped in the crystal and you can jump, throw him, dash up to him then throw him again.
Really glad you found Levelhead! Its such an amazing game and its not getting the attention it deserves.
That Marketing Department idea is GENIUS
Who else is hyped for the Mario maker 2 direct tomorrow? Edit: thanks for 100 likes
For me it's technically in two days because it starts at midnight in my time zone
"ouching saw blades[...] spiking spikes"
it's been a while since I've watched this video, or any other videos on this channel, and I forgot about your... interesting way of describing objects.
“What MARIO Maker should learn from Geometry Dash”
This video got me into levelhead, and I absolutely love it. The game is fun, the editor is powerful, the community is tight-knit and friendly, I'd def encourage anyone looking for a maker-style game on pc to look into this.
Ceave Gaming: I wish SMM2 can have a feature that locks the camera in position.
Nintendo Direct, the next day: uwu camera position locking is here
I saw announcements about this game a while ago because I played Crashlands. I wasn't really interested in this game though, but this video got me to want to play it and it is a very solid platformer with a lot of great level components to make some amazing levels! Thanks for the video.
You should check out their other games, just because they are quite unique. Happy to see Butterscotch Shenanigans
being recognized tho
You have made me fall in love with this game.
"Spiking spikes" this is why i love this channel

Damn, im really proud of Bscotch to get this much attention, ive loved their games for awhile but now they finally got a hit.
pls make a video about the Geometry Dash Level editor
@@frederikschmid6159 That has never prevented him from making videos on Mega Man Maker, Dreams, Minecraft and Level Head
Hey ceave! Thanks for getting me hooked on this game! =) I Love your channel and your Vids! Thank you SOO much!
This guy is gonna create Mario Maker 3 because its surprisingly simple!
LevelHead: **Smacks SMM2 Luigi away**
Luigi: *_Its-a me! Im-a dead!_*
CEAVE, THE DIRECT FOR MARIO MAKER 2 CAME OUT-
I think you hit the nail on the head with how annoying Mario Maker's death system is. I never like playing expert levels because it can take me like 3 seconds to die but it takes like 10 seconds to try again. I end up mashing the A button and going "yup, I get it, I get it, I get it, I get it, I get it."
Yeah everyone is restarting in mario maker because it's faster. But still it takes way yoo much time to respawn
I know you will never read this but you should really try geometry dash. apart from the game itself (jumping over spikes, nothing complicated) there's an AMAZING level builder, with a trigger setting very similar to this game.
once you master it (and it is really hard) you can make beautiful levels, miles away from the original game. if you have the time, check out the level mastergame, by a player named serponge.
bye!
Omg, I watched the level you said, never would have imagined geometry dash could do that!
Thank you for showing off this cool game!
Ceave's mariomaker 3 wishlist
-*Hotel mario theme*
I like the currency concept from Levelhead! Building on that idea, it would be neat if you could use the virtual currency to --
- Purchase Nintendo's Mystery Mushroom characters
- Design and sell your own Mystery Mushroom character sprites, which creators could use in their levels
- Compose and sell music using the sound fonts from the sourced Mario Bros. games, which creators could also use in their levels
- Tip level creators virtual currency when they make cool levels
- Reward more virtual currency for completing a stage and collecting more coins (maybe with a limit of how many coins collected in the level will count towards this earning)
GR-18 is so cute and the rhythm at which the whole game plays is really good to look at. I'll surely keep an eye on this game, already looking forward to get it 😁
It's out on Steam now with new content being added weekly! store.steampowered.com/app/792710/Levelhead/#

THERE IS WALUIGI IN LEVELHEAD?
Man I really feel like a package-delivering robot right now. Guess I'll like then since I'm already subscribe buttoned.
Screen locking has been confirmed in the direct!
I feel like a package delivering robot today.
When Mario Maker 2, needs to take inspiration from Levelhead, inspired itself by Mario Maker. Hmmm...

This is a really interesting video for me. I haven't played Mario Maker in forever, but I love watching players and channels like Ceave. Something I was considering that would be nice to see in Mario Maker 2 is a tagging/genre system. Basically, before you can upload your course, the game asks you what your level is like (I don't know whether optional or mandatory is more preferred, I guess it's up to the dev team). There's various genres you can choose from like music, automatic, classic (similar to the main games), puzzle, etc. Maybe you can also incorporate a difficulty rating by either the creator or whoever plays it, instead of basing it off of completion rate? And with all of this in mind, you could have a search option to choose the genre/difficulty of the level you want to play. Like I said, I don't really play Mario Maker, but I'm fascinated with the sequel and would love to make levels of my own this time around. I've been watching videos of speculation or things people would like to see, and after giving it some thought this was just an idea I had. What do you guys think? :)
@@christines5052 Oh wow, that sounds awesome! :D I'll definitely have to check this out later when I can. Thanks for letting me know!
That game seems like Yoshi's Island but you can make levels.
"Pedagogically responsible"
Your English is very good.
The camera feature sounds amazing but trolls would abuse the zoom function to no end
But if trolls just abuse it then nobody will give them exposure bucks, which makes it less likely for people to play that level.
@@ericbishop2461 I meant adding the zoom function to Maker 2 would be a bad idea because of trolls. But if Nintendo *did* do that marketing thing then it would be ok.
@@psiseven Ahh, okay. I thought you were referring to them in Levelhead. Got it.
Awesome work! I like how it’s not just mario!
I think GR-18 is really cute.
Who agrees?
Ok that Marketing department is a fricking awesome idea!
I haven’t watched a Ceave video in a while.
...
I forgot how much I love these videos.
There is a scroll stop in Mario Maker 2.
But as far as we know, no way to stop the screen from scrolling back left, unless you make the boss room a sub area.
Ceave you are one of the best UA-camrs i know. There are only a few german youtubers that can hold on with you but NO other UA-camr EVER could do! Really you are the best!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I'd love to see more Levelhead videos!
There's not much out there keeping track of level building blueprints
i love how every thumbnail for these kinds of vids always has an image of a character in their iconic poses and putting them in a place where it looks like they are slapping mario or luigi
Seriosly level head seems better than mario maker
Thanks for showing me that Levelhead exists!!!
Although Levelhead looks really cool, I have been playing Mario forever and I don't feel I need to play two maker games at a time. I think I'll play Levelhead until MM2 comes out, though
I like how you demonstrate your ideas in mario maker by using clever editing techniques
Screw mario maker, play this!
I agree with a lot of your points!
The real question is
Will it be surprisingly simple
This game was such a pleasant surprise as I LOVED all your other games especially Crashlands (one of my favorite sandbox games and even one of my favorite indie games) the humor and smooth fast gameplay and super crazy and creative concepts and great soundtrack honestly 10/10 super unique funny and crazy game keep up the great work butt-er-scotch SHENANIGANS

Good news Ceave! The scroll stop mechanic can be done with blocks other than ground tiles and can be removed when the blocks are turned into shiny-yet-deadly-coins or blown up by a bomb!
6th like was me. Wow
Who would ever want a hotel mario theme?
Also nintendo really needs to watch this. Great ideas!
You predicted the on/off switch.
We still need that stuff):
Hey little big planet takes this to it max.
That respawning time one reminds me of Extra Credits’ video on how stealth games go bad; they basically said that stealth games function in a way much like puzzle games, and if it takes a long time to get back to action after dying, it can throw off your focus and bore you (or something I haven’t seen that video in a while).
Hey, I was the one who created that weird Tetris-like "That This? Yep." level. Thanks for showing it (twice!), if you'd like to see more wacky contraptions built in LH, I have a few others in my channel :]
it would be great to see more about this game! just about every MM2 player that tries it says it's better in almost every way.
8:32 - I'd also love to see your personal best as well as the world record. I don't think I'd beat a champion in a level, but being able to challenge myself to improve would be great. And wow, Levelhead actually looks pretty fun! 2019 is promising to empty my wallet a lot, heh.
7:25 A common misconception about clear rates is that you can divide the number of Marios that died on a level by the number that succeeded in order to find out how many tries it takes on average for the the players that complete the level. This fails to take into account the number of players who died on the level, maybe several times, and then didn't finish it. A 0.2% level would eat up 500 lives on average for every one successful completion, but the people who beat the level likely only died about 10-100 times.
Love your work, Ceave! Can't wait to see what awesome contraptions you come up with in SMM2!
Yeah which is why whenever I play Super Expert I always get the worst type of levels.
I'll just confirm that it's an absolutely brilliant game. It's sort of a midway point between the relative simplicity of Mario Maker, and the absurd complexity of something like LittleBigPlanet (and Dreams is likely to be like LBP). You can create incredible things here that Mario Maker cant really do, but it's not overwhelming.
Omg th nostalgia from going back to wacthing you and your vids🤪
you won me over when you showed logic gates!
Levelhead looks like a great game. Looks like maker games are heard in the right direction.
1) SMM2 definitely should not zoom in during intense parts of the level, either automatically or by the level creator's choice. If anything, zooming out might be helpful
2) It doesn't make sense to have a camera freeze as soon as the camera indicator comes on screen because what happens when you are approaching the room like in your example? You showed rooms separated by 1-ways but if you defeat a boss and then move to the next room, you would be blindly entering a room and could die immediately. I can't really think of a way that this could be cleanly remedied but it's best for mario to always be in the middle of the screen unless he's at the farthest left or right, there can be awful level creators that do terrible things with camera restriction
I love the way your Videos are structured.
Also I want Mario Maker 2 to have a better rating System. In Mario Maker (1) you can only give Stars to level and only search for "most Stared" levels. I think after you play a level, you should be able to say: that one was a speed run level / That one was a Troll level / That one was a Kaizo level / etc. And then, when you want to play a kaizo level you can filter all levels leading to you playing the level kind you want
On their new user manual preparing for release on Thursday there was a little "surprisingly simple" reference!
yes! ceave was one of the biggest publicity boosts this game's gotten, and many of the early players came from this video
Just bought levelhead today because UA-cam recommended this video to me two days ago, it’s such a great and fun game ^^
At this point you should just make you own level editor honestly
You're half jokong, but I think Ceave would do a better job than Nintendo at making a level editor. Especially if it's multiplatform.
cool idea, he really should
Did you see his dreams video? He doesn’t have the time):
Yeah I guess we could make hour own levels
I don't know if he'd know how, but he could *definitely* be a guy who says "That's a great idea!" or "Maybe that wouldn't work...". Any game he would do that for would probably blow up.
