This is a fantastic video. Really well thought out and great advice. I'm working with my granddad Frank Bowling and this is pretty much how it goes down even at the high end. Frank has various sorts of Artworks, going from tiny works on paper all the way to giant canvases. I found out that the square-footage doesn't work very well for Frank because his work is so extreme.
Ultimately your Artwork is worth about as much as someone can pay for it and that is determined by who you can get it in front of. Representation isn't necessary but damn it helps. They have lists of wealthy clients, learn their tastes and once your work matches their need you can make big progress in your career. Finding a good gallery is notoriously difficult too so good luck to everyone out there!

Great video! I wonder how to price the artwork when the artist enters a new market, especially in a new country.

What if you are starting out? Should you do for free or extremely cheap?

No. never price you work for cheap because the buyers will then devalue it as such. Price your work to compensate you for what you believe is a fair price. always work with someone interested as well. half of this is finding a good home for your art. use these areas to adjust the price. the best thing to do is to find the market that really values your work and wants to support. it takes time to do that.

@@cysanaa9988 also take into consideration how much time it will take you to finish a piece.
The size, materials, and detail are also included into the price.

I told myself I'm going to make art and show my work for a year and not allow any work to be sold except for prints. I'm tired of people undermining my work because I'm not social media famous or something. I'd rather mae work that speaks to be than to sell a darn thing.
