- Upgraded my KTM DUKE 890 R with WP suspension Apex Pro and tested it on the race track!
My name is Rok Bagoros and I am a pro freestyle streetbike rider. I began riding bikes when I was 17 and turned pro after 4 years when I signed a contract with KTM Factory. Since then my life changed and I started to travel the world to perform my freestyle live shows and competitions. On my channel I try to show you how my life looks like on and of the bike. I performed in Asia, South America, Europe and Middle East on the mayor events like MotoGP, Red Bull Air Race, DTM, Salon de Automovil Chile, Internatonal moto expo, EICMA, etc. On the other side I have been a stunt double for different artist like Robbie Williams and Neisha. My motosport idols are: Ken Block, Travis Pastrana, Chris Pfeiffer.

man i love wp suspension always had good luck with them, i have a question i notice on your duke your forks have the little red rubber ring on the bottom of fork tubes just like my 690 smc r i never realized i had them until i looked they were pressed all the way to the bottom are they just there to tell how far your fork travel is?

PS. I upgraded from my 2014 Duke 690R to the Duke 890R

in the R models, KTM should just fit the best suspension, period.
No shit am so very unsatisfied that my 2020 1290 SDR has a useless steering dampener that once i had major speed wobble from coming down hard 3rd gear wheelies.

Lame that KTM puts out the R version, and there is still an upgrade directly from WP on the suspension. I could understand if you wanted to pay for Ohlins but I would expect the upgrade to be incremental from the WP fitted to the "R" version. At one third the cost of the bike, the stock stuff must either be absolute shit, or you must be in search of very small gains at any cost to justify this.
Wait... what?? i thought the new Apex suspension were supposed to be top gear for new R bikes (890 and 1290).. They could have built the ones your using, according to the price increase. Anyway, that's a monster of agility you got there buddy. Rock on !
Stock is very good, but not top notch. There is way better suspension.
Do you think upgrading to the Factory triple clamp for the Duke 890 R 2022 is going to make a difference for street riding or it's not worth it?

What can you say about the common issue of all 790/890 models with premature camshaft wear? I bought one and then I started to read all sorts of real problems with that... Thinking of selling mine before it shows up :(

Instead of using zip ties to hold your calipers while they are off the bike... use bungee cords. Ive done it both ways and the bungee cords is a much better method.
