Personally, DBD is 1000x more chill and actually enjoyable if you just DC or tab out and watch a youtube video when you get a toxic game. I'm here to have fun. Not to get slugged for 10 minutes by a sweaty P100 blight within the first 14 seconds of the game. So in those types of matches, I usually DC. When the penalty gets too high, I kms on hook or go afk and watch youtube, because there is no better choice.
and don't forget, they thought people would ignore the fact they didn't mention the Junji Ito Collection is locked in certain regions around the world and people still pay the skins and don't get refunds when they don't have the cosmetics
@@Chubbien It's political. The countries this is happening in are all involved in something controversial. Unlike here in the United States where all is right and well.
Quitting DbD was the best decision I ever made. I have a friend who bought the game last year. I decided to get back in after 3 years to help him understand it. It took me about 4 hours to explain the game. The very fist game he had was with an insane Billy doing every trick in the book. The second game we had a hacking Myers. The third game was kind of ok. And in the fourth two people DC'd and it was 2v1. We both quit forever after that. Screw DbD and screw BHVR. As long as they will push quantity over quality I won't come back. The sad part is how much I used to love this game. Even in the dark ages in the Alpha and Beta versions in 2016.
you are complaining that the game is unfun as a survivor??? hahaaha lamo thats actually crazy, you must had a hacker every single time hen, usualy survivors have such a easy time. 3 gens done allready after the first chase. quitting as a survivor is WILD
I started the game back in 2022. I have almost 1100 hours in the game. I am STILL trying to unlock all perks on all characters. The bloody grind is INSANE. Don't even get me started on the learning curve. 54 maps with 87 variants each that's randomized every trial, 38 killers with vastly different powers and power levels each with 20 different add ons that can fundamentally change their ENTIRE playstyle, 18 quintillion perks with a multitude more synergies, totems either being blatantly obvious or hidden better than the bug free version of DBD (there is no in between), and having to modulate your OWN playstyle to account for not only your ping, but the killer's as well. There's a reason there's 87 bajillion videos/articles/websites dedicated to trying to help people learn the damn game. BHVR gives the broadest overview of the game and goes "that's all you need to know. Get out there" as you run face first into a learning curve that looks more like your running face first into the Burj Khalifa trying to figure out the nuances
i wont lie i did not care to go through and get everyone p3 i just got everyone p1 during an event when it was boosted bp with friends and managed to upgrade everyone to p1, then when i swap mains (cause i really only play one survivor) i just level that person up with all my bp, i dont really play killer as its not as fun for me but adding getting all of them to p1 would take extra long and be a pain
The game definitely isn’t fun to learn by yourself at all. I had a friend who wanted me to learn the game so he bought me like 5 DLCs so I got all these killers and perks and survivors that I had no idea how to use. It took a lot of late nights grinding points to unlock everything. At least now you can just hold down the center button to spend points on the blood tree. I’ve fallen asleep before trying to spend a million blood points on one character. It was so mind numbingly long and boring
What? I`m around 1200 hours and have all Survs on tier 3 and all killers at least level 1 (some killers are lvl. 7 others level 3/4...). Sorry but I didn`t buy this story.
Dbd's new player experience is absolutely insane and people NEED UA-cam to learn, plus all free perks suck, the shrine is useless because there's a huge chance for it to release perks newbies already have, I feel like any original killer 1 chapter or older should be insanely discounted, plus the time to learn is insane, I've been playing since year 4-5 and because I only play sometimes and take breaks I only have a couple hundred hours I'm considered a newer killer, it's the only game where hundreds of hours could be considered newer
The community just loves to talk. You don't need 1000 hours to be considered experienced. It might seem that way because people who invest a lot of hours into this game are heard more by the majority.
Main thing I hate is how depressing it feels to play the game off event, you go from earning 200k BPs a game to like 35k at best. It feels like a waste of time. Like Im really in a mood to play DBD but Im not gonna log on cuz Im just waiting for the new event to come around cuz I know then I will get the same amount of BP from 1 game as I would now from 5. Its very stupid.
Yeah, unless you are running with a SWF where everyone brings Bloody Party Streamers or the Anniversary Cakes, you aren't going to get a lot of BP. The best you can get without a multiplier is 40K from a match (assuming you max all categories. Which isn't easily done).
@Arvak I still need to prestige characters just to unlock perks for other kills and I barely have any add-ons so when I'm grinding towards that yeah it feels bad
Damnnnnn Spooky THICCCCCC. Serious note, I do agree with you on the penalty lock being removed, map changing for sure and removing map offerings need to be a thing and just let map rotation kick in.
I agree with you, but I also don’t agree. I think maybe killers should only be able to bring offerings because some of the builds I do, like on myers only work only on indoor maps!
Killer mains try not to kill out thr already dying survivor player base by not requesting killer to be a easy 3-4k every match challenge: oh wait they already killed most of DBD with this. @Naatalieoss
Honestly without he penalty this would just became like the PTB, because the majority of the players can be whine bitches that will quit because they couldn’t get the flash save, they get one gen done, they couldn’t bully the killer, etc etc. but removing the ability to unhook yourself is needed at some point because if you are not on a SWF the chance of seeing it is at least 5 or 6 out of 10
What ruined the game for me and why i havent played the last few months was honestly MMR. This game is not made to have MMR and it ruined my fun completely by having to play every round against the biggest tryhards even though all i want is to chill and have a good time.
Imma be honest the only times i usually DC as survivor is against spirit because I used to work a warehouse job, and that damaged my hearing a decent amount. Really hard to hear that woosh noise when the tinnitus is going off
My main problem with Dead by Daylight is the maps. Straight up the RNG and pallet spawns can really make a Killer's day lit or a living nightmare. I had never played a game where the maps really determine how well i'll do in them as either Killer or Survivor. I've had maps where there's literally nothing for the Survivors to use to escape me, then other times so many pallets I just decided to not bother chasing people in those areas. They really need to polish the maps they play a HUGE factor in how games are thrown down.
I agree, on one hand you have Gidian meat plant, with 1,000 pallets, and on the other hand you have the strode offering which is a super small map and has like 4 usable pallets
i left the game because 1 out of 3 games as a killer was: Chase survivor, hope theyre not the pro one, they are, spend 2 minutes chasing them just to hit them once, 3 gens get finished, the survivor you chased used a medkit and its back to full health. I didnt want to use meta builds i wanted fun, but 1% of the players said that hit and run killers were boring and dont get me started with twins, i didnt want to sweat as a killer and getting mocked by the survivors so i just dc'ed and sent them back to the lobby to wait 5-10 minutes, so they could bully another killer with their head on build
Great point man . Say you get coldwind farm . Hell you might end up with no jungle gyms just a couple 4 ways with a pallet and that new weird loop they added . then you get 3 filler pallets and shack . The rng on map assets effect alot .
that and the fact they are shrinking the maps to make it heavily killer sided, the double exit gates being meerly next eachother (literally seen 2 gates side by side) like how is that fair..
i think the major problem with dbd is that it's fundamentally a hardcore experience but bhvr tries to be half-and-half with it similar to smash team, but the difference is that in smash bros you can turn on items that add so many variables to the game that skill and knowledge barely influence the match, while in dbd skills and knowledge is all you can play with.
@@ONCE_BUT_TWICE_FOREVERexactly. Or we run into the issue of your choices being playing the most unserious uneventful mode vs the most hardcore of the player base. Take 2v8 for example, if you wanted to play a normal game instead you mostly got matched vs full sweat groups because there was no one else on the play with
Level restriction. Add a mode to the game where only low level players can play so that new players can learn the game before being thrown into the sweatshop.
You touched on it in the video about bloodpoints and perks, as a new player (34 hours) it takes way to long to farm bloodpoints. I started playing during the 2x bloodpoint event and was having a good time, but as soon is the 2x went way it just felt painful to spend so much time and effort to 'win a match' that only getting 30K-50K felt like a kick in the nuts. As the game goes on this problem is only going to get worse and worse with more Killers and Survivours being released. I also want to say that despite being a new player, almost all survivors I face are running Lithe, Windows, DS and OTR or some combination of them. It really sucks as a new player having to face constant META builds game after game. I don't know how too loop or proxy camp properly, I don't have the best perks for the killer I'm playing, so why do I have to face survivours that bring META perks and Medkits with Anti Hemmorage syringe or Toolboxes with Brand New Part. Edit: Spelling
Haddonfield is the biggest piece of shit BHVR have ever pooped out. Any one with more than three braincells could tell it would be ass yet they think its fine. Worst map in the game.
@ are you joking? haddonfield is now one of the smallest maps in the game that can spawn with less than 8 pallets across the entire map. at least old haddonfield was playable for survivors in general and wasn't as hard on some of the stronger killers. new haddonfield is essentially an automatic loss for survivors if the killer has played for longer than 5 mins.
@@TylerTheLoser_ you are overreacting. Honestly that's my problem with dbd, the majority of the community is extremely negative and weak minded so they prefer to complain instead of getting good
Yesterday i had a houndmaster game on rpd and my dog just fell through the map when he jumped a pallet and i didn't have my power for the rest of the game luckily the games was almost over
I am a CS major going into game design. I understand that sometimes even a simple sounding bug can force the devs to basically rewrite the entire code. It sucks. It happens. What needs to be fixed is the p2w aspect of the game. Loading up the game as a broke college student after spending $20 on it and then being expected to shell out upwards of $300 to unlock all characters alone, without ANY teachables even unlocked, is downright a scam
Not many other games you can get more than like 5h of playtime for 20$ though. I get how it can feel bad for new players with all the characters but after playing for 5k hours and only spending 300$, nowhere in the world will you get that much entertainment per dollar
@@BradyPartainthat’s ridiculous. many games don’t have p2w features like dbd and you can get 5k hours out of as a f2p player. dbd f2p is collecting shards which would take you years to collect all characters. other games f2p features are mostly cosmetics, not p2w stuff like broken perks locked behind a paywall plus your assuming people will spend 5k hours in this game to begin with. people will complain about fortnite micro transactions but atleast its free and you don’t need skins to enjoy the game. DBD cost 20$ and you still have to cough up so much money to have good perks. pretty demoralizing for newer players that can’t afford to spend that money on pixels in a video game.
@@BradyPartain No that's just dead wrong. There are plenty of similarly priced games that I have a stupid amount of hours in. And even f2p games like Warframe where I've played for literal years and only bought a supporter pack out of choice. DBD is extremely predatory in their p2w aspect.
You can buy most characters with iridescent shards, though. I own every survivor and I've only spent money on the licensed characters, and it's fair that they cost money bc they have to pay off the license. I started playing DBD as a student with no money and still played hundreds of hours
Skull Merchant has a bug since her nerf that sometimes causes her Drones to get the addon that stops rotation. So as if she wasn't already weak enough you now have to deal with resetting a Drone whenever it decides to break, and you know damn well BHVR isn't fixing it.
The new player experience i think is the biggest issue. It took me like 200-300 hours of playing to actually start having fun as survivor once i finally started unlocking lots of perks and builds. At the very least, they should have all perks perma unlocked in tier 1 when the survivor is unlocked, and then add the perk in every character web. No reason to have to sink a million BP in every single character just for a shitty version of their perk.
Bro, I have been ranting about the new player experience for at least 5 years. It has only gotten worse and still fallen on deaf ears. I've bought this game for at least 6 friends and none of them wanted to keep playing because of the grind just to get useful perks on top of having to pay to even have those perks available.
i started playing with the alien introduction but only have >200 hours and one of the most infuriating things i run into is that survivor. blows. not having a different Que option for "hey I'm just here to play as my favorite character and earn BP to get new stuff" makes me not want to ever play survivor. Which SUCKS! I got this game to do two things, play as nemesis, and play as Claire redfield, but half of what I play the game for gets ruined by teammates leaving or much more frustrating, killers that are trying out for freaking team Eternal. I'm sorry but I don't want to play against a blight with double iri and CI, grim embrace, pop, pain res EVERY SINGLE GAME. If that was it, honestly it would still be bearable, but these players are no fun, I get tunneled off the hook bc my profile is less than 4 million hours, the killer slugs for the 4k all the time, and there's no easy way for me to improve, these killers are scary in their own right but there's no SBMM at all so i feel like I'm constantly playing against Olympic athletes and I just picked up a tennis racket or whatever This is also extremely frustrating bc the killer side of things is a ton of fun! As nemy, or wesky or the alien (the three killers I play), I get people who dance with me, drop me items, and laugh when i vault a window instead of picking up. That is so much fun! And yeah, I run into bully squads frequently but I've gamed enough and have builds that can help me fight back when i run into them, but figuring out what the survivors are like as a killer and figuring out what your teammates are like AND the killer is like, is so much more challenging because I'm sorry, but this is just a game, I stop playing for long periods of time just because the community is so avidly "fuck new players" NONE of this even scratches the frustration of not having any good perks for the first 100 hours of game time on both killer and survivor all this said, thanks spooky, I've enjoyed your content and even when I simply can not touch this game, I still get to enjoy the game through a good player like you and the other CCs. anyone who replies to this, please be nice
I'm digging the green screen stuff, dude! Helps make your content more immersive and entertaining. You use it in creative ways! I have about 6 hours played in the last 2 weeks. There are so many things that annoy me, but nothing more than this darn community. It's the only community I know where ppl get actively mad when they win. And a lot of the time, they take it outside of the game and drop nasty Steam comments or send ridiculous tweets. I've been playing Marvel Rivals and Teamfight Tactics. Lotta frustrated bad DPS players in Rivals, but not a single one of them has taken it offline and the most "toxic" thing a TFT player h as said/done to me is emote after a win, which just kinda made me giggle.
10:23 BROOOO FR If you don’t take Corrupt Intervention on Trapper to buy yourself some time to setup, you might as well just call gg cause the survivors will already have a gen or two done by the time you set up everything how you want.
I started playing in September 2024. I paid to unlock every killer and survivor and It took me about 400 hours months to unlock every teachable perk. Mostly by playing during the events with 150% blood point bonus
bro its also bad when some killers like knight almost require you to have 4 teammates to win but you have that one guy who kills himself on hook so now everyone wants to just leave and not want to play.
I think the problem with bhvr is they still sees themselves as a indie company thus all these problems are allowed, when simply put they are now a tripple a company and they have to stop acting like bugs, bad maps and everthing else is okay. YOu worked with dinsey bhvr you ain't a indie company anymore
Spooky I am so grateful that you brought up community behavior In regard to being a barrier to entry for new players. As someone myself who used to put 8 hour shifts into the games with friends, I’m getting very frustrated by the lack of accountability players on both sides have when griefing, trolling, or being disruptive purposefully to do harm . People in the end game chat unable to accept when a game was fun regardless of the win or loss. I find myself often loading into one or two matches and feeling absolutely frustrated at the quality of games I’m getting. It’s not even a coin flip. I have a d20 where everything but 19-20 are 1’s when it comes to my luck running into a good fair game. I want to invite my friends and we can all play together. Leading my new friends to their first hatch escape over voice calls and spectator feature are some of my favorite moments in gaming of all time. The bad actors cause a disruption in the longevity of the game, I feel discouraged from playing a new killer whose perks I don’t have all unlocked, I’m getting tea bagged at gates until end game collapse files out. And I know the basic mechanics of the game, I know looping and tiles. Imagine coming in with no experience? I want a more comprehensive reporting system, I want to be notified when action is taken on my report, what about gameplay replays where I can send a code directly to point out bad behavior or hacking? Bleh.. thanks to anyone who read this whole thing. I love the game, and I’m impressed that BHVR Is continually updating and trying their best.. but I don’t log on anymore because of these issues. Events can’t keep me around. Don’t even get me started on perk balancing and hardcore players bringing in absolute meta perks.. tunneling, map offerings, bullying. The power creep with perks and the way meta builds and playstyles are make it seem like there’s only so much fun in a game of DBD to be had, and everyone is trying desperately to hoard it for themselves and nobody else.
Thank you for giving constructive criticism instead of just ranting. You care about the game and clearly want to see it improve and grow. I do as well.
as someone who has been playing for 4 years (pandemic forced my hand to play) only half the killers have tier 3 perks and I've just gotten all tier 3 survivors; feels bad to want to play this game with my brother when I can't justify that kind of grind on him
I think they should allow two free Hook Kobe attempts without dropping any progress on the hook bar but once those attempts are done you can't attempt nor kill yourself on hook until it reaches second stage.
Easiest solution to the "GIve up on hook meta" Is just remove hook struggling at 2nd state... its a pointless mechanic everyone can easily hit if a survivor wants to kill themselves to 2nd hook state by trying to koby then fine but then make them dangle for the whole 2nd hook state.
the 2nd state struggle mechanic has some strategic value though. If the game is long lost and I have one teammate left and im on 2nd hook. I'd rather let those skillchecks rip so i can die and give them a shot at the hatch sooner. longer I'm on the hook, the more chance the killer has of finding that last person.
I love dbd, but you are spot on with the slug power complex problem. When I first started playing at aliens release I remember a full night of being slugged out multiple times by different killers with my “swf”. It almost made me uninstall. All I wanted to do was go against the new killer Alien with my friends because I’m a fan of the movies, but my entire night was spent trying to learn the game on the ground. Now, after spending well over $100 over the past year ish I have every perk in the game killer/survivor sided. I’ve taken a break from the game for about two months because I’ve noticed a pattern within the game that shouldn’t be in the game: it’s very pay to win at the end of the day, and if you refuse to pay, you will invest 100s of hours into a game that doesn’t seem to improve itself with it’s growth. It’s the same game I started playing a year ago. It’s sad to see the game hasn’t improved since I started playing, I used to believe it would get better but it just isn’t. I’ve tried to get friends to play it, and windows of opportunity is legit behind a paywall. Or you can play 200 games maybe more to get the shards. It’s bs.
As far as I know, you can still hear Spirit's Husk while phasing as Spirit. This makes it impossible to use her power as all you can hear is her freaky ass moaning around a loop. I don't know how long this has been in the game but it's yet another bug they refuse to fix, or just don't have time to do so.
And the fact they've only fixed it on the paid skin they just released, but not the skins people will already have or paid for, incentivising people to spend more just to have the character as it should be...
One thing I appreciate about your commentary is that even when it's about something negative, you still manage to make it enjoyable to watch instead of just constant pessimism that kills the vibe. The editing is great as well! Oh also H E *T H I C C!!!!!*
the amount of survivor matches i’ve been in where someone just purposely dies or spends the entire game doing stupid shit like jumping in and out of lockers to be annoying simply because they don’t like whatever killer is being played is absolutely insane
they remove variations in gameplay style from survivor side (and don't really offer it for killer side). it's see survivor auras, chase them in circles until you catch them, repeat. survivor side, it's hold left click, tap spacebar sometimes, get chased in circles until you die or get bleed out griefed for 4 minutes (happens to me at least once every night that i play and i go out of my way to not be toxic). there's no stealth play in a game that's designed around a powerful killer hunting down 4 unarmed survivors. game got noticeably worse when they nerfed the only real counter to aura perks while simultaneously adding several more aura reading perks (one of which needs to be completely reworked because it's just stupidly unbalanced). i've got many more complaints but main thing i wanted to say is that i know what would fix survivors killing themselves on hook or disconnecting... let them see who the killer is in lobby so they get a choice of what their match will be like. if they don't want to go against skull merchant or plague, they can leave and let someone else take the spot. if people who main those killers end up having trouble finding a game, then maybe bhvr needs to look into why no one wants to play against those killers................... and before anyone says "that'd ruin the element of surprise for the killer!" this isn't a horror game. there's no surprise element. it's literally a run in circles and get griefed simulator. the killer gets to see the survivors, the survivors should get to see the killer. and this would also help people avoid playing against those kids that will use steam id to force match and grief them. (shame bhvr doesn't take action on that front). i can almost guarantee you that if you remove the ability for survivors to give up on hook, the player count will drop. there's a problem in the game that needs to be addressed if it happens so often that it's this much of an issue, and the problem ISN'T the fact that survivors can choose to opt out of that match.
7:10 Outside of dumping 15 prestige levels into Deathslinger and a few into Survivors, I got prestige 3 on every Killer as of a few days ago. I have been playing the game on and off since October of 2023 (with a massive few months break in the summer of last year), and Steam shows that I have around 700 hours in the game now. 700 hours. To unlock one _half_ of the full perk loadouts for the game, not to mention the money I spent getting all of the chapters ^^;
Killers aren't half of the full perks. It is less than half. I started a bit before you (End of July 2023), and currently have 31 of 38 killers Prestige 3, and 35 of 45 survivors Prestige 3. And that is only because I play to burnout in events that give tons of BP. However, my highest character is also just Sable at Prestige 4 (which I only did for the achievement).
@@A_Shiny_Sylveon Yeah, I tend to as well. I tend to bounce back and forth getting a Survivor to Tier 3 then Killer then Survivor. I don't know why but I am always surprised I have more survivors than Killers to get through.
Great video, hope the devs take 10% to heart. As a past subscriber to SpooknJukes, his recent clout exploiting video about TTVs Jiggamuun vs Spookishgrimm is what makes me question if there will ever be a point where "dying on 1st hook" players will stop existing. The creator doesnt care to make an argument for both sides in that 'drama' (even telling outright lies) and his audience fully supports it. Im not fully against your idea of removing the DC penalty but that is putting a band aid on a water leak at best. DBD have existed for too long to ever get a mode for casual play, but i really hope something that can separate the players that are careless/negligent/egocentric/psychopaths from the regular players (who play the game as a profession, limited on time(!) or simply just want to enjoy the game as it was designed). This behavior needs to go if the player base is gonna grow or even attempt to be healthy. I have had two friends drop out since 2022 because loading into the game was taking more time than they were actually playing it.
10:35 my idea for totems dont have the perks activate at the start of the trial the killer has to go out of their way to light a dull totem. All dull totems have thier aura revealed a hex perk doesnt activate unless the killer lights a totem. Once light the totem cant be unlight. This change wouldnt affect hex perks like plaything, two can play, wretched fate or face the darkness that have the condition to chose a random totem after conditions have been met. I think that this change would make hexes more interactive for a killer and would make the situation less of “oh that totem fed me” and more “oh I can’t believe they found that totem I thought I hide it well
This would make the problem of totems getting cleansed even worse against good players. For most killers there is very few times that a survivor does not know their location and if people notice a totem's effect they will just go to the general area they remember the killer being in. This would turn totems into noob-stompers but weak against good players. A variant of this idea could be applied to some hex perks so instead of going to the totems to light it they can remotely light the totem at any distance with a button press. This is too powerful for a hex perk like Devour Hope where you could just not light it until you get a hook so I think that should keep the random generation effect. Undying would probably just automatically light a random totem upon using a different hex, unless its your only totem perk.
Agree with everything you said here and its why I ended up just giving up on the game. Started in 2022 (April, I think?) as an escape after I lost my Mom. Put a lil over 400 hours in. Started noticing the consistent problems about 100 hours in. Started becoming unignorable around 200. By 300 I was woefully aware of basically everything you griped about in this video, and just watched it get worse, and worse, and worse over time. I honestly don't think I would have been able to stick with the game at ALL if it weren't for the fact that I bought a shitton of DLC on sale when I first started so I didn't have AS bad of a new player experience as others will. I genuinely don't know how the fuck anyone is supposed to get into DBD having access exclusively to the free characters and the pathetic little meager offering of perks they offer. Not when it takes around 40 hours just to unlock ONE of the Killer/Survivors who haven't been price-reduced yet. And that's not even going into things like how often meta-defining perks are locked either behind DLC purchases or waiting potentially years now for them to show up on the dogshit that is the shrine rotation. DBD isn't a game that is going to last long term unless BHVR is willing to hand out a LOT more for free to new players. All it will amount to is a revolving door of horror fans, who come in for their favorite franchise being added and then promptly leave once they realize how miserable the experience is. And even that will eventually dry up. And its infuriating because it feels like every other successful live service figured that out WELL before the point DBD is in in its lifespan, but BHVR is just happy coasting along on their licensing money and leaving the actual game to rot until they have no choice but to actually do their jobs again.
I hate the Inner Strength curse where I can never find totems - even in their usual spawn places that I know about. But the minute I take it off or switch to killer, I find all the totems. Without fail. The hit boxes are definitely wild too. Sometimes I get hit from like 6 feet away or behind a wall, but other times when Im on the survivor's butthole, I can't hit them to save my life. It's insane the inconsistency! I would definitely agree on the automatic tier 3 perks though! My friend bought the game 2 years ago and has been very slowly trying to grind her way through it just to have perks on her characters. She still has like maaaaaybe 15 on 1 character because of how tough it is.
1:32 Eyrie of Crow isn't even in the top 12 worst maps for killer. Main building is terrible, and the RNG of the rest of the map can have sparse amounts of pallets and fillers in the middle, leading to almost a rotten fields level of experience for survivors.
A huge reason I don’t play DBD that often, especially for survivor is because of the ridiculous grind to get the teachable perks on all characters on top of needing to buy the characters. Some of the best perks are just straight up locked behind paywalls and grinding on top of the paywall
@@johnbaxton1872 That's not what they said, they said nothing about being "good at the game." There are objectively good perks that are behind a paywall, do you deny this? Do you believe all the best perks are free or come with the base roster? Some do, like Adrenline on Meg; but two of popular perks are tied to Lara and Nicolas Cage. They are behind a paywall. If you want to run them, you either have to grind Iri Shards and hope they appear in the Shrine or buy the character and get them to at least Prestige 1 to unlock the perk in the bloodweb.
Well edited and entertaining video spooky. Also I remember when they said no more large maps after midwich and we get alien map and then the coal mine map 😂
I have an idea for totems... Lets say that you have ruin. right off the start you dont really need it, but lucky survivor can spawn right on top of it and cleanse it immediatly. So my idea is that totems that affects gens lights up after finishing one and something against survivors will be lit after first hook. Some perks may become more weak so it surely will need Some rework to not become useless, but still seems like an idea. We already have oblivious, that appear only after hook and it cannot be turned of right from the start. Mechanics exists, bhvr can set certain "hooks" for activation i think. Also, lets say there will be a chance, that there wont be any dull totems and your perk just wont activate. So survivors will have interest to use theirs perks and totems, potentially making game bit slower and bringing more sets of perks. P. S. I hope i was able to tell my idea kind of clear and without whole lot of mistakes😅
All excellent points, and I feel like largely we are all yelling into the void in regards to fixing some of these issues (except maybe the maps, as they have addressed that and it should at least rotate a bit better soon)
Here's an idea to counter the go next epidemic: take a tip from games like Siege, and allow players in que to join a match in progress. Call it the Tag Out option. A survivor wants out, instead of pushing the leave game button, there'll be an option highlighting a player's name that's in que to start a match. If you tag out, the player that wants out ... um... gets out, and is replaced by the player in que, who will play in their spot, with their character, perks, and hook states. Keeps the game going, gets the crybabies out, gets players in that actually want to play, and keeps the que times down. Of course, this is just off the top of my head. I'm sure someone will hit me with an "um akchully" as to why it won't work. But, let's see YOUR idea, Greg! What's that? You ain't got one? That's what I thought. God, I hate Greg.
I'll give you the reason it won't work: no one likes playing DbD at a disadvantage, especially survivor side, which is the entire reason this epidemic is happening anyway. You're proposing an idea that takes a queued survivor and puts them in a game where they'll be injured and already have a hook state. 9 times out of 10, I guarantee that person will DC. The solution, actually, is simple: self-unhook attempts don't progress hook state. You get 3 attempts (6 with Slippery Meat). Problem solved without having to implement an entirely new system that'll assuredly break the game for everyone. They can also implement a status effect for when basically everyone is dead and only 2 people are left called Hopeless, which will allow self-unhook attempts to progress hook states.
@@ChaosZ8 you're probably right. I just haven't seen a lot of ideas to solve the problem, that doesn't just result in giving survivors more freebies to stop them from rage quitting when things don't go their way.
I've been a survivor main since 2020 and I just recently decided that I wanted to start learning how to play some killers. But even with all of the time I've played this game, I don't have a majority of the killer perks unlocked and playing killer without the good perks available to me is virtually impossible. But trying to grind for bp in solo queue survivor is ALSO virtually impossible (unless there's a blood hunt). It's so frustrating.
I really wish that if two people that were slugged found each other, they could get each other back up. I think that would stop some of the games where the killer intentionally decides that the survivors need to spend some time licking the floor. I'd also like it if the little thumbs up boost at the end screen meant something. Let there be an achievement or cosmetic for getting or giving a bunch of thumbs up. Reward spreading positivity to help combat the toxicity. There have been games that I've lost but the killer was a LOT of fun to play against. They spread out attention, were good at the game, but also had moments of just goofing around. I'm not mad when a killer that is down to play a bit rolls my team if it means that there was a bit of a back and forth and we all had fun. I've also played as killer against fun groups of survivors and I'd like to be able to shout that out as well, especially if we have a fun talk in the after chat. It is 2025 - there are people that are killer mains and survivor mains. There are also those of us that swap based on if we are playing with friends or not. Let us choose when rerolling our daily if we get a survivor daily or a killer daily. Let us swap a killer/survivor rift challenge for one of the other roll. I'm at a point where I have all of the survivor challenges done but since I mainly play with my friends, my progress is stalled. And if I can't reroll my killer daily into a survivor one, that sits until I eventually get another chance to reroll.
I'm a bit of a game designer myself, so I came up with some fixes (at least for grinding, new players, slugging) that shouldn't be too hard to implement and enjoy. Entity Cravings: As survivors and killers gain dust on your shelves, the Entity will find a pang of longing and hunger to see them again. This includes characters that you have not yet unlocked. Characters that the Entity is craving will have their bloodwebs discounted by 90% for an entire prestige (so, a brown offering costs only 200 bloodpoints) and will enjoy up to 400% extra bloodpoints depending on how powerful the craving is, which diminishes as you play matches, and while you're playing a character that the entity is craving, other characters will not accumulate cravings. Prestiging characters gives iridescent shards equal to 200 multiplied by the prestige level. Shrine of Secrets has 4 survivor perks and 4 killers perks, and 3 from each side are guaranteed to be licensed so it'll be easier to get perks that are usually locked behind a paywall. It now changes every 4 hours instead of every week. Buying a chapter instantly unlocks all its relevant perks at tier 3 for all the characters you own. Individual characters purchased with shards or cells still need to be prestiged, otherwise grinding and tiered perks would be entirely obsolete. Also, killers that come with the game such as fuckin Trapper, have all their perks converted to general perks (which is particularly relevant for stuff like Brutal Strength and Enduring) Tutorial mode actually correctly gives survivors hints on how the killer works in-game and gives killers advice such as a chase going on too long, or survivors likely being in a different area. For the first 10 matches in each realm, survivors get built-in Windows, Deja Vu, and Visionary, with the visibility of the auras diminishing as they gain more experience. The effect that new killers enjoy is the ability to see the auras of survivors that you're not chasing within 16 meters, or outside of 40 meters, with the same conditions as new survivors. Auras enabled to new players are not subject to the same rules and perks as regular auras (e.g. if you get hit with Third Seal, it doesn't remove the auras that you see with New Player Mode.) Don't Feed the Entity: If every survivor is currently downed or hooked and the game detects that there's no way for break this, then survivors can simply leave, where the Entity will eat them and send them to the postgame lobby. Also if all survivors DC then the match ends and you gain all the bloodpoints they had up to that point, offerings should be reworked entirely since the Bloody Party Streamers tier is clogged with map offerings and a bunch are utterly useless, and Haddonfield not being mentioned in bad maps is an actual fucking crime, holy fuck Haddonfield is so bad for everyone involved that anytime I load in I announce "Why the fuck are we on Haddonfield?" and repeat it whenever something goes wrong, because everything goes wrong on this godawful map. Also also I'd consider having map rotations that change something like every week because there's just so fuckin many.
1. If we were to remove self unhooking unless using perks its kinda pointless because even if the teammates save that teammate that wants to go next, they will simply get unhooked and run straight to the killer to get killed again, and if they dont get killed, they simply start wasting the resources of the maps. 2. DC penalty really needs to go, cos if you DC atleast we get a bot thats actually useful and tries staying alive. 3. they really need to rework the MMR system because, im a competitve player and can run the killer more than 2-3 gens, but i have games where i get paired with people who have 30+ hours, that are really new, or console players who arent essentially bad but they aren't experienced enough. 4. Solo Q is just so horrible so its no wonder ppl go next instantly, there is no coms, atleast if BHVR took the time to add like quick chats, so if you press 1 it will say "going to unhook!" if you press 2 "im doing gen!" and stuff like that 5. DBD really needs to spend some time working on the bugs and the optimization of this game, its so horrible even with everything low. they need to optimize the game better as for the maps, i think coldwind farm needs a rework man, there is this variant where it has loops and tiles all around the edge of the map, but the middle has NOTHING only CORN.
I have some thoughts on the "go next" epidemic. BHVR has encouraged it by using statistics to balance the game, so now survivors know that if they come across anything remotely troublesome, they can go next, and rest assured that thing will have a higher kill rate and be nerfed in a few patches. Just do it like other games and penalize people through the report system. Fighting games dont have this problem, MOBAs dont have this problem, yet BHVR coddles quitting survivors and the problem has only grown since people started popularizing it.
got back into the game recently in december, basically played for a few days with the christmas event offering, hit bloodpoint cap on killer so quickly i started ranking my killers up to just unlock perks n such. anyways, in like a week i unlocked trickster and knight with iridescent shards because of the new tome, ranked all my killers (including pig, clown, knight, dredge, trickster, ghostface, legion and a few others) to rank 1 minimum (not including nurse, trapper and wraith), ranked my dredge to rank 6 and my knight to rank 4. got all the frost customizations from the event, did the whole tome killer only in a few days etc etc. safe to say, the new player experiance is misguided as well as hard, because perk wise they wouldve grabbed at least 2 killers from that (if not more since doctor and hag are only 2k iridescent shards each) and wouldve been able to get other perks teachable on other killers. (no it being tier 1 doesnt matter because all it means is while your ranking your killer up, youll get the perks at tier 3 anyways, then in your spare time you can rank up to rank 2/3 whatever perks you actually deem nescecary for other killers so you can auto use them on new killers, which is if your even getting anymore new killers since your new already)
in addition to the slugging at 4 or 5 gens and it being behavior that is not welcoming to new players I would also like to add the killers who tunnel someone out of the game within 2 to 3 minutes of it starting and also killers who just proxy camp the hook, or know the "anti camp radius" well enough to just stand outside of it so they can 1. tunnel down the hooked survivor and/or 2. down the new survivor who gets the save this kind of play behavior and enabling is very unwelcoming to new players I was trying to get a friend into the game and she got tunneled out within the first 3 minutes of the game, she barely had any time to play and it was very sad, this happened multiple times in our session and its just very sad and makes her not want to play the game because she isnt getting to play it anyway especially when its killers like vecna, who have a huge tool kit to play with! but prefer to just tunnel or proxy camp hooks to get the game over with as quick as possible I just dont understand playing such a cool killer with so many abilities to just end the game in 4 mins and collect around 19k bloodpoints..it just doesnt make sense to me...
I don’t play DBD, but I watch DBD UA-cam because the community is so over the top. There are so many cartoonishly toxic streamers, absurd blatant cheaters, petty complaints, and it’s the game where you’re most likely to have your skill called into question because you defeated someone. When people lose, it’s their opponent’s fault, or just the game being unfair. It’s never them. And I know not all players are like that, most probably aren’t. But the ones that do act that way are very vocal and very easy to find. Some UA-camrs have made careers talking about all the things I just listed and showing examples of it. It’s an entertaining community, and I find it fascinating to watch all the shenanigans that ensue. Would I ever play the game? Maybe. Killer looks like a lot of fun tbh. But from what I’ve seen, it’s just not worth the investment of time and money. I’d love to be proven wrong. I’m more of an old school gamer, I mostly play SNES, GameBoy, and NES games on emulator. It’s free and there are so many games that aged like fine wine from that era. But I have been wanting to pick up a more modern game, even find one to invest time and money into. I’m very interested in the valve games. But DBD is something I’d want a free trial for just to see if I like it. I wouldn’t want to pay for the base game, plus extra to find a killer I enjoy most, plus extra for perks and DLC and shit, only to realize I don’t enjoy the game. I was fine paying for WoW for years, but they give you a free trial to try the game out. If DBD fave you a free trial, that would probably earn them a lot of new players.
This is exactly why I am subscribed to you i know it's just an informative video on your own personal dislikes with the game right now however it was super creative and entertaining. You are so creative and every time you step outside your "box" you make a dope video and if you ever don't have motivation to create more then please remember this comment!! i'm not even a twitch sub or anything serious, just a normal dude that knows talent when i see it .
I've been saying they should remove hook self escape attempts for YEARS. It's always been a horrible mechanic. Quitters use it to quit & noobs instinctively use it to survive not knowing they're ruining the game.
I've been playing for a couple of years, mostly on and off, as I've only just hit 600 hours. I like grinding achievements, so I play both sides almost equally. I've getting close to having all killers prestige 3, but I will never do that with survivor. My goal is to simply get each survivor to prestige 1 to unlock the perks and keep powering up the one survivor I want to main. But even with that, it STILL takes an insane amount of time to do. Having to essentially throw away 1 - 1.2 million bloodpoints on a survivor I'll never play sucks. It's absurd that BHVR haven't made some kind of perk shop yet, especially since some perks are stuck behind licensed characters. And if they ever do release some kind of perk store, you should be able to buy the perks with bloodpoints and not be forced to use iri shards. I also agree with getting rid of the perk tiers. It's completely unnecessary having 3 different tiers to the perk.
talking about the performance, ever since the server upgrade i get hitched/lag so hard that is makes my character literally turn the opposite direction that happens about once a game and i cannot even begin to think about how many times its gotten me killed
Locker placement and Totem spawns needs to be looked at across the board honestly. Any killer that uses lockers for something can be royally screwed over at the start of a game purely because the lockers are in the worst places imaginable, Dredge in particular heavily relies on lockers for movement. I have had more than one killer dc pretty much right at the start because their hex totem was instantly cleansed and i can't say i blame them.
There's an upcoming collab with Dead by Daylight and Five Nights at Freddy's. I'm curious to what it'll have to offer, and what the map will look like? 🤔😀
Was literally just talking with someone today about how perk tiers should just be axed. Just make it one tier with the tier 3 values and call it a day. MAYBE this was a valid design choice when the game had 20 total characters but at this point it is such an obscene time commitment. You prestige a character? All three perks unlocked for everyone at max value. Just bump the other prestige rewards down to start at 2. Easy. After that I think the most elegant solution to self-killing on hook is to only allow for the option to self-unhook only when every other team member is on hook, in dying state, or being chased (or maybe if luck-increasing offerings/perks were brought in by that survivor). The detection methods for these already exist in game and together these make up the only real scenario in which self-unhooking is a legitimate play at all. I also think slugging should be addressed and I believe a solid solution is that, once two people are put into the dying state, the killer gets a grace period of say 15-20 seconds to pick one up. If they don't then the person who was slugged the longest gets to pick themselves up. Process repeats until only one player is slugged or two players have been slugged for under the grace period time. This allows for slugging for the 4k and for pressure under most scenarios while killing the full-team slug everyone despises. Seems like a solid compromise to me.
People giving up is definitley my biggest pet peeve, it's why I try staying in low MMR and play 8 hooks to have more fun. Been pretty good at avoiding it but past 2 days has been filled with people throwing a fit and the match.
fr the grind for the purple perks is insane as well for grinding the bloody outfits for the character i almost have all the purple perks for killer but i gave up on surv lol
I think Trapper could be a bit like the Unknown with his power. Like he starts with 2 Traps and then he "generates" more traps over time and he generates faster when he injures or hooks survivors. That way he doesn't have an insanely strong start and can't immediately turn a whole area into a dead zone.
Part of the biggest issue is the extremely wide gaps of skill level at different stages of the game. For example at lower ends/new people the game is very killer sided. Survivors dont know the maps, the tech, how to chain loops, how to even loop, on top of what each killer does and ways to counter it and even if you arnt tunneling once survivors start dying the odds of them winning goes to basically zero. But on the high end it shifts to be more Survivor sided as they know how to run the killer and efficiently do saves and multiple gens to where it feels like if a killer isnt playing as efficiently as possible its a guaranteed loss. SWFs of course also exponentially making things harder. And to make things even more confusing is how wonky the MMR system is. Some games feels like I'll go against people just barely played any and the games/chases end so quick, and in the next game or two it feels like Im going against the 4 man Avengers who have 3-5x my game time in experience
The hitboxes are still ridiculous to this day; getting hit behind a pallet and 5 meters away from the window is still existent to this day as it was back then 7+ years ago. It’s absurd.
I love the honesty in this video. When my friends see me streaming DBD and ask me if they should get into it, I am very straightforward about how being a new player is rough and also because I don't want my friends to have a miserable time
I completely agree about some sort of change for survivors who give up on hook super early. It feels so bad when you're playing well but it takes longer to get to iridescent 1 cause you keep getting survivors who throw in the towel almost immediately
There was one time I was playing Ghostface (I think) and what I've been doing is getting double hooks on every survivor then letting them go because I don't want every game I play to be a sweatfest. First survivor I chased gave up and DC'd after getting hit once. Got so fed up at that, I ended up killing everyone (who all also DC'd over dumb shit). I will never understand why people ready up as a survivor if they're so eager to DC over the dumbest shit before the match even starts.
Leaver Booster - if you leave too many times, you will get to the lobby with the same kind of player. Good behaviour or Bad behaviour system would fix a lot. I would leave unhooks, because they help a lot when the game is lost with no salvage, it will give survivors at least some kind of hope for escape, when they can just sacrifice for their teammates, BUT I would either give it a timer (unhooks possible after certain amount of time) or unhooks after first two deaths.
Every match I have micro rubberbanding after vaulting or getting hit to the point to where I just can't play it anymore every other update this shit happens
As someone who plays killer and survivor the slugging, camping and tunneling has gotten crazy lately the game has become just not fun to play anymore. I just want to get on, have a good time and enjoy myself. I’ve had plenty of bad days but I’ve never thought to get on a game and make everyone else experience miserable.
I got into the game recently (30 hours roughly) and it has been a blast. However, this was after 1 or 2 years of semi-frequently watching the game on UA-cam and picking up small things here or there, alongside a lot of looking shit up on the wiki between sessions where I had time, meaning despite my low experience, I have enough knowledge to find similar success as someone with hundreds of hours who didn't do all those things I did. I've unlocked 2 characters so far (Clown and Artist), the perk Deadlock from SOS this week, and have enough Iri shards to buy 1or 2 more characters if I so choose. However, as Mintskull put in his videos, the game is monetized like a mobile game despite having an upfront cost, and is excessively P2W as a result. I feel these concerns are what are making the game feel so veteranised, as the steep entry requirements are stopping new players from taking the plunge, leaving thousand hour sweats to go against themselves. I feel very lucky to get to see free character trials, the first step towards making this game beginner friendly, this early into me taking the plunge. I hope BVHR will address these issues this year and take steps towards making the game more beginner friendly. Not only is this good for the health of the game and the community, but also it's a good monetary decision, as you'll simply have more people playing the game, meaning more potential money spenders.
I feel like a fun idea for perk levels is to have them start at level 3, but be able to enhance them further in return for bringing one less perk. So brining one perk would be enhanced to level 6 or something but bringing four perks spreads out the power to weaken them to level 3.
I feel SUPER lucky that I happened to be playing during the prestige transition, where all characters had their prestige levels tripled. I grinded like a mad man and pushed like... 15+ killers to p1 so they could all be whisked to p3 jumping me forward months and months!
I think a way to fix totems would be to have the totem wait to light up. So for Ruin, it would only light up when someone let's go of a gen for the first time, and not at the start of the match
I feel like a good balance for bleeding out / slugging is give self-ups at 1/3 and 2/3 time has passed on the bar. With 5 or 10s of endurance to help deal with the inevitable campers who will just insta-hit you back down otherwise. Slug meta is awful tho. If it keeps on like this, it will kill the community. Personally I hardly play anymore because of the constant slugging at 4/5 gens combined with tunneling and camping to keep people down. Not enough is being done to balance all the playstyles, and too much emphasis is on the 4k being the "only" win condition, to the point of giving a completely unnecessary final survivor mori. That mori ALSO compounds the efficiency problem of slugging to win. Because it practically guarantees a 4k. Completely removes any chance of skill play to get endgame escapes. and killers use the slugging to drag out a game looking for the only other living survivor remaining, so they can hook one and mori the other. It's repetitive, it's boring, it's been made this way by BHVR, and it kills the fun. A game shouldn't only be about efficiency to get 4 kills (only need 3 to "win"), it should be about fun interactions on both sides. there is no fun to being slugged out and an encouraged playstyle that functionally counters 1/3 of perks out there by simply *not* interacting with the players in any actual gameplay. It's an awful place to be, and I hope that BHVR addresses this situation soon.
I just started 3 weeks ago and having "great new player experience". Playing killers is ok, i do get confused a lot when survivors do some unknown stuff to me, but if they get away then whatever. However if you play survivor it's so frustrating. I don't know what'l most killers do and their aura perks are driving me crazy. Also player tend to waste time and not repair generators, and have a bad habit to unhook you just so killer can rehook you in next 15 seconds
I have about 700 to 600 give or take and hate nothing more than to see a map offering either remove them or make it to where one 1 person could ever bring only 1 and if someone brings another of the same map it get disabled so the offering to deny map offers actually work being able to force a map or a realm is just too strong
Toxicity is a huge problem because my first ever match four years ago was as Survivor. I missed a skill check right off the bat, and the teammate I had kept teabagging me when I was in hook. I got off, didn't save him, he was talking crap the rest of the game to me from Xbox messages. From that point forward, I played killer unless playing with friends and just blocked anyone who sent a negative message to me.

No map is worse than Hawkins lab and Larry's institute.
That was a legendary deflection of comments about your health. Well done
There’s 54 maps on dbd? Then why does it feel like I’m always playing on the same 3 lol.
The new update should change that. They just ensured you cant go to the same realm twice now rather than only the same variation of a realm.
they switch some tiles around and move shack/basement and consider it a new map.
Bruhhh I ONLY get Eyrie and Nostromo as my first and second match EVERY time I play!
Dum dev f whit map rotation/randomly
Because all survivors do is throwing map offerings for Eyrie of Sweat, Sweatham Preschool, Sweat Milan and Sweathaven

Ah yes, the dark ages. When hooking a player took 3 whole seconds.. ;-;
you are complaining that the game is unfun as a survivor??? hahaaha lamo thats actually crazy, you must had a hacker every single time hen, usualy survivors have such a easy time. 3 gens done allready after the first chase. quitting as a survivor is WILD
Dbd teammates back in 2017 actually played the game. Dbd players now are 💩.
SpookyLoopz is a dbd player AND a Dolphins fan. Never knew we shared multiple types of trauma.
Wow. Never knew he was a Dolphins fan. lol. Yes shared trauma for real

😹😹💯
i wont lie i did not care to go through and get everyone p3 i just got everyone p1 during an event when it was boosted bp with friends and managed to upgrade everyone to p1, then when i swap mains (cause i really only play one survivor) i just level that person up with all my bp, i dont really play killer as its not as fun for me but adding getting all of them to p1 would take extra long and be a pain
DbD is not that complex compared to a game like League of Legends
Resilience is a free perk and I use it in almost every build tho
Hey! No one escapes death is one of the best free perks!
Everyone more than a year and a half old already has a 50% discount. This stacks with other discounts, like being 50% off during Anniversary.
The community just loves to talk. You don't need 1000 hours to be considered experienced. It might seem that way because people who invest a lot of hours into this game are heard more by the majority.
Yeah you’re just wrong about free perks sucking. Most of them yes but there are a few good starting perks
Which isn't easily done).
idk I've never cared that much about how much bp I get. I play for the gameplay, not for rewards
@Arvak I still need to prestige characters just to unlock perks for other kills and I barely have any add-ons so when I'm grinding towards that yeah it feels bad
It feels more bad to get back into the core game everytime when a event or modifier was way more fun than "normal" dbd 🙈
@ ah yeah that's fair, I think it's probably worse for killer mains bc on survivor you can just put all your bp into one person on the whole
@Naatalieoss

Bhvr isn't a small indie studio anymore, we really shouldn't be fine with such a buggy mess of a game.
The reason they suck is because of DEI... look it up. Look up BHVR wheel of oppression lol, you'll laugh.
I like the rng
i think the major problem with dbd is that it's fundamentally a hardcore experience but bhvr tries to be half-and-half with it similar to smash team, but the difference is that in smash bros you can turn on items that add so many variables to the game that skill and knowledge barely influence the match, while in dbd skills and knowledge is all you can play with.
I'll say it till the day I die dbd needs to have an arcade mode for people who just want to play the game for fun instead of sweat swamping everything
you fail to realize the sweat swampers will deliberately go on arcade mode, expecting chiller matches and opponents to get easy wins
They do. They have events that are fun for 3 days then the sweat begins.
@@ONCE_BUT_TWICE_FOREVERexactly. Or we run into the issue of your choices being playing the most unserious uneventful mode vs the most hardcore of the player base. Take 2v8 for example, if you wanted to play a normal game instead you mostly got matched vs full sweat groups because there was no one else on the play with
What is fun tho?
Both sides play to win and nobody wants die as a survivor or get no kills as a killer.
Haddonfield not being mentioned is also mad that map is beyond shocking now
That's the DBD Stockholm Syndrome kicking in, cause most people remember the nightmare it used to be.
Haddonfield is the biggest piece of shit BHVR have ever pooped out. Any one with more than three braincells could tell it would be ass yet they think its fine.
Worst map in the game.
@@CornChippy new haddonfield is far better from older haddonfield so they honestly did a pretty decent job there
@ are you joking? haddonfield is now one of the smallest maps in the game that can spawn with less than 8 pallets across the entire map. at least old haddonfield was playable for survivors in general and wasn't as hard on some of the stronger killers. new haddonfield is essentially an automatic loss for survivors if the killer has played for longer than 5 mins.
@@TylerTheLoser_ you are overreacting. Honestly that's my problem with dbd, the majority of the community is extremely negative and weak minded so they prefer to complain instead of getting good

@@BradyPartainthat’s ridiculous. many games don’t have p2w features like dbd and you can get 5k hours out of as a f2p player. dbd f2p is collecting shards which would take you years to collect all characters. other games f2p features are mostly cosmetics, not p2w stuff like broken perks locked behind a paywall
plus your assuming people will spend 5k hours in this game to begin with.
people will complain about fortnite micro transactions but atleast its free and you don’t need skins to enjoy the game.

This happened before her nerf, actually. Whatever they did during the nerf just made it more common.
If that was it, honestly it would still be bearable, but these players are no fun, I get tunneled off the hook bc my profile is less than 4 million hours, the killer slugs for the 4k all the time, and there's no easy way for me to improve, these killers are scary in their own right but there's no SBMM at all so i feel like I'm constantly playing against Olympic athletes and I just picked up a tennis racket or whatever
This is also extremely frustrating bc the killer side of things is a ton of fun! As nemy, or wesky or the alien (the three killers I play), I get people who dance with me, drop me items, and laugh when i vault a window instead of picking up. That is so much fun! And yeah, I run into bully squads frequently but I've gamed enough and have builds that can help me fight back when i run into them, but figuring out what the survivors are like as a killer and figuring out what your teammates are like AND the killer is like, is so much more challenging because I'm sorry, but this is just a game, I stop playing for long periods of time just because the community is so avidly "fuck new players"
NONE of this even scratches the frustration of not having any good perks for the first 100 hours of game time on both killer and survivor
all this said, thanks spooky, I've enjoyed your content and even when I simply can not touch this game, I still get to enjoy the game through a good player like you and the other CCs.

And the fact they've only fixed it on the paid skin they just released, but not the skins people will already have or paid for, incentivising people to spend more just to have the character as it should be...

the amount of survivor matches i’ve been in where someone just purposely dies or spends the entire game doing stupid shit like jumping in and out of lockers to be annoying simply because they don’t like whatever killer is being played is absolutely insane
Not enough people mentioning how goat'd this style of content is. I enjoyed this very much
they remove variations in gameplay style from survivor side (and don't really offer it for killer side). it's see survivor auras, chase them in circles until you catch them, repeat. survivor side, it's hold left click, tap spacebar sometimes, get chased in circles until you die or get bleed out griefed for 4 minutes (happens to me at least once every night that i play and i go out of my way to not be toxic). there's no stealth play in a game that's designed around a powerful killer hunting down 4 unarmed survivors. game got noticeably worse when they nerfed the only real counter to aura perks while simultaneously adding several more aura reading perks (one of which needs to be completely reworked because it's just stupidly unbalanced). i've got many more complaints but main thing i wanted to say is that i know what would fix survivors killing themselves on hook or disconnecting... let them see who the killer is in lobby so they get a choice of what their match will be like. if they don't want to go against skull merchant or plague, they can leave and let someone else take the spot. if people who main those killers end up having trouble finding a game, then maybe bhvr needs to look into why no one wants to play against those killers................... and before anyone says "that'd ruin the element of surprise for the killer!" this isn't a horror game. there's no surprise element. it's literally a run in circles and get griefed simulator. the killer gets to see the survivors, the survivors should get to see the killer. and this would also help people avoid playing against those kids that will use steam id to force match and grief them.
7:10 Outside of dumping 15 prestige levels into Deathslinger and a few into Survivors, I got prestige 3 on every Killer as of a few days ago. I have been playing the game on and off since October of 2023 (with a massive few months break in the summer of last year), and Steam shows that I have around 700 hours in the game now. 700 hours. To unlock one _half_ of the full perk loadouts for the game, not to mention the money I spent getting all of the chapters ^^;

I thought I was the only one having this problem with Inner Strength 😅 Like damn you nailed how it feels to use I swear lol
Hitbox issue might be server issues. Everything else tho is very valid
If you need the strongest perks to be good at the game its probably for the best you don't play

I think BHVR gave up on the totem spawns because it punished newer players while veterans were able to memorize them
All excellent points, and I feel like largely we are all yelling into the void in regards to fixing some of these issues (except maybe the maps, as they have addressed that and it should at least rotate a bit better soon)
The idea is good! But if BHVR can’t fix bugs that have been in the game for years, how would they implement a complex queue system like this?
@LucianUchiha I would say remove. It's pretty stupid when things happen by sheer luck.
I'm not saying you're stupid or your idea. 4% thing is stupid.
It's so cute that you think BHVR cares. Even if they did they can't even get a DLC to play in an event two weeks after it came out!!
The store segments remind me of his playthrough of supermarket simulator.
2:12 that was cinema
0:59 Can't forget both versions of RPD 🗑
Love it. And you're not fat. ❤
Damn way to bring it up😂
I'm a bit of a game designer myself, so I came up with some fixes (at least for grinding, new players, slugging) that shouldn't be too hard to implement and enjoy.
Also, killers that come with the game such as fuckin Trapper, have all their perks converted to general perks (which is particularly relevant for stuff like Brutal Strength and Enduring)
Tutorial mode actually correctly gives survivors hints on how the killer works in-game and gives killers advice such as a chase going on too long, or survivors likely being in a different area. Auras enabled to new players are not subject to the same rules and perks as regular auras (e.g. if you get hit with Third Seal, it doesn't remove the auras that you see with New Player Mode.)
Don't Feed the Entity: If every survivor is currently downed or hooked and the game detects that there's no way for break this, then survivors can simply leave, where the Entity will eat them and send them to the postgame lobby.
4. Solo Q is just so horrible so its no wonder ppl go next instantly, there is no coms, atleast if BHVR took the time to add like quick chats, so if you press 1 it will say "going to unhook!" if you press 2 "im doing gen!" and stuff like that
5. DBD really needs to spend some time working on the bugs and the optimization of this game, its so horrible even with everything low. they need to optimize the game better
as for the maps, i think coldwind farm needs a rework man, there is this variant where it has loops and tiles all around the edge of the map, but the middle has NOTHING only CORN.
This is the peak content I crave
in addition to the slugging at 4 or 5 gens
and it being behavior that is not welcoming to new players
I would also like to add the killers who tunnel someone out of the game within 2 to 3 minutes of it starting
and also killers who just proxy camp the hook, or know the "anti camp radius" well enough to just stand outside of it so they can 1. tunnel down the hooked survivor and/or 2. down the new survivor who gets the save
this kind of play behavior and enabling is very unwelcoming to new players
I was trying to get a friend into the game and she got tunneled out within the first 3 minutes of the game, she barely had any time to play and it was very sad, this happened multiple times in our session
and its just very sad and makes her not want to play the game because she isnt getting to play it anyway
especially when its killers like vecna, who have a huge tool kit to play with! but prefer to just tunnel or proxy camp hooks to get the game over with as quick as possible
I just dont understand playing such a cool killer with so many abilities to just end the game in 4 mins and collect around 19k bloodpoints..it just doesnt make sense to me...
The only thing I hate about DBD is doing generators and protecting them 🫠🥲
2:40 I'm surprised you know what a gym is
Wow, pin of shame needed here...
Fuck brother, times are hard
This is the first thing you decided to comment? How odd
@@firewall56stop whining this was funny
talking about the performance, ever since the server upgrade i get hitched/lag so hard that is makes my character literally turn the opposite direction that happens about once a game and i cannot even begin to think about how many times its gotten me killed
Maps getting smaller, the locker grab is kinda crazy now, getting flashbanged from miles away, 4 man slugging, ect
If I was still working on DBD, I'd of fixed the wall collision issue immediately on the jigsaw map.
It's literally a 10 sec fix. Not exaggerating
