My grandmother is a doctor in India and has been serving since last 40 years. She often tells me that doctors today are much more well read and better trained in their schools, but they need to understand that the fundamentals of medical science lies in humility and empathy because 10/10 times patients do not come to you because they are happy in life and need celebration. They are miserable for things that they cant solve and hence come to a doctor. Just a simple smile, asking about family, offering a chocolate on the way out goes a long way. She still treats underprivileged mothers and kids free of cost in Odisha.

I am doctor in Pakistan, I was doing observership in heart surgery department in one of the hospitals of NHS, While watching surgery I felt dizzy, the staff there suddenly took care of me, when I felt fine I said I can go but they didnt allowed it and bought wheel chair for me, took me to the resting area, gave me warm blankets, I told them it is because of hypoglycemia, the staff there made me a coffee and sandwich. The head then came to see me to make sure I was doing fine.
Here in Pakistan, I have been working to treat one the dangerous bacteria by putting my life at risk, I was the only doctor in whole division covering 3 districts, its been 5 months I havent got a single penny of my salary, The Professor here is continuously harrasing me, giving me death threats, threats of killing in the name of blasphemy, using abusive language for me and my family, he tried to harm me physically in front of whole staff. I Have complained to MS of Hospital,HR and manager but instead of doing any inquiry they have relieved me from working there. THIS IS THE REAL FACE OF PAKISTAN.

I'm proud to say this,,my grandmother's open heart surgery was done a few weeks back,,, ofcourse no charges,,,but on discharge,,we were handed a small amount of money,,,when we asked,,it was fare for the patient to get home,,,yes,,I'm Indian,,and yes the surgery was done in india

Junaid bhai,I have a completely different experience in Germany, my Car was charged for parking for all 5 days.I did not had any doctors checking up on my kid. The nurses were not necessarily rude, but weren't sweet either. There are cultural differences between UK and Germany. No money was paid to go back home.
But the places where Germany shines is
1. If my wife had a job, she could take 12 months leave at 70% salary and then returnbback to work. Same for father for 2 months
2. Govt paid 300 eur pm for 12 month to mothers who are not working
3. Govt also pays 250 eur pm to my kid until he is 18 or until he finish studies whichever is later.

The sad reality is that all of us want to escape from pak while no one wants to rectify themselves and their surroundings. We want the govt to do everything for us. Charity begins at home. Who is stopping me from making my kids insan ka bacha. That is the primary duty of every parent. Dr banay na banay insan ka bacha to banay.

I won't blame medical professionals here, specially support staff including nurses, radiologist and other related people. They are highly under paid and the work they are doing is like 12 hour shifts and continue 15 days night shifts. I personally know many people and their personal lives get affected due to this. A highly qualified BSN Nurse earns hardly 1 lakh per month and a Radiologist max 50k per month this doesn't help them in any way. I would say you would also become cranky in this situation. And when you come home there's no electricity and gas what would you do. Govt is making this nation aggressive intentionally I would say.
Not the same in Germany. the Govt of Germany does pay alot but the behaviour of doctors especially in labor and post labor is horrible.

Fair comparison would be the government hospitals of UK and the government hospitals of India. UK also has private hospitals. But they are very very expensive. In India, the government hospitals are also NOT free. So now you have on the one hand free government hospitals in the UK with world class care and paid government hospitals in India with....(You know how it is in government hospitals in India. I don't have to tell you).....

It’s pretty much the same process in Canada..😊.. listening to you reminded me of the care that was given to us during the birth of our children. The education, school boards, teachers, doctors, councillors everyone who come in contact with children are so passionate and loyal to their profession. We also pay high taxes in Canada however Sara paisa vasool en times per!!

Juniad a small correction to your comment about the free healthcare in the UK. You have 40% tax and national insurance to pay if you are on a high salary.
You explained everything pretty nicely and in an interesting way, but let me tell you one thing, all of American schools are not bad. Depends on which school district you are in. In parking in hospitals over here is free, if you’re taking treatment in the hospital, they don’t even even charge you a penny for the parking ..
When someone gets admitted to hospital in PK, the patient becomes a cash cow based on experience! Everyone colludes together to extract the max money. This test, wo test, this scan and so forth even when not needed. You really have to question the nurses and doctors why they are doing a particular test or procedure.

NHS has waiting time for organ transplant and they send their patients to India for that. I am shocked to see the wrong immigration for the last 10 years which is making UK big cities impossible to live in.

Junaid, the basic elemental education for a child is the ability to decide what is ethically right based on sense of empathy. The major problem with Pakistan is the societal norms of behavior is based on survival. This is primarily due to the fact that Pakistan doesn’t have any historical context to behave as a connected society except religion. As the only thing that it is created based on religion and knowing woven together a fake history to artificially build cohesiveness in society. Even the religion itself is based a medieval tribal superstitious belief that madness(schizophrenia- hearing voices and hallucinating characters like Jibril) to be prophecy! Given this context I seriously doubt if Pakistan can even thrive without a soul called collective consciousness.

Hospitals free n all is great but I wouldn’t want someone coming to my house to inspect if its fine for the new member. I’m the father, I know what has to be done. I’ll call this breach of privacy. Just coz the govt. has invested by giving free hospital etc doesn’t give them the right to school me in parenting without my consent.

A very good initial impression, but if we step back and think, we will realize few things.
1. The reason why they needed such support system is because both parents are working to make ends meet and child's upbringing is compromised. Traditional family systems with gender roles are vanishing from western culture and thus the need for counselors watching everything.
2. If state is taking care of the child then the values inculcated into them will be what the state desires and not what parents want. As a result, immigrants children are usually a disappointment for their parents
3. If the state owns the child from day one, what will be the parents' authority on their kids on issues such as gender change, especially when done at a very young age of 7-8 years old. Like currently seen in US and Canada.

Mind you, us desis have a lot of deficiencies in our culture and system regarding child'd upbringing, but that doesn't mean that the western systems are perfect, as they may look upfront.
Taking care of all the needs of your child teach parents so many things, like patience, respect for their parents' sacrifices and selflessness. The more support you have from the State, lesser the chance, one will get these benefits.
Nothing to do with US totally different system and the best in the world.

A bit wrong assessment of American school system. There are districts with great schools and then some districts with average schools. It all depends on the economy of the district. Seems like Junaid Bhai is only aware of the bad districts and has not seen any of the good schools in America.

Sir please do not compare South Asia with the west. No comparison because maximum population is poor and cannot pay taxes. Had been poor for the last 300 years. In India we do have Ayushyamaan where we get free medical facilities. Recently for the last few years goverment has taken care of food for more than 800million people. But still most of South Asia is very very poor. Every government needs to focus on the poor population. But in any condition please do not compare South Asia nations with the west.
