Cunard | Queen Anne | The Pavilion

Film fans are in for a treat on Queen Anne. Not only will our newest ship feature our first ever cinematic sized screen, but we’re also teaming up with the British Film Institute. The collaboration will see a curated programme of specially selected films. Watch them in your stateroom or suite or curl up under the stars for an outdoor screening at The Pavilion.
The Pavilion is an idyllic open-air oasis with a choice of al fresco bars and eateries. Bubbling hot tubs and a picture-perfect blue pool. You’ll find so many ways to while away the day at The Pavilion. All of them under one roof.

This is a pretty big jump for Cunard. To break tradition of Art Deco in favor of this more Streamline Moderne-Modernity is a big, but definitely not a bad move! This style of architecture aboard cruise ships is practically nonexistent, but was pretty popular on Ocean Liners during the 50’s to 60’s.
My only concern is the lack of woodwork on the walls, which was still common place even with many late liners. Then again, the Queen Anne interior is already pretty different compared to other Cunard ships. However, only time will tell if The Pavilion will be a success among passengers.

What on earth possessed Cunard to put in one of those horrendous big screens. It looks like one of those ghastly MSC pool decks. What next? Doing the conga round the pool singing Aga-Do during sail aways?
