Very expensive up front, but in the long run it saves a lot of money on mulching every year. Plus saves time from all the work you never have to do! Looks really good against your brick, orangeish red is hard to match up with. Looks like your helper had a lot of fun helping and those are great memories to make
Instead of trying to dig the shovel into the middle of the pile, start at the edge of the pile with your shovel flat against the driveway so there aren’t any rocks underneath your shovel, just the flat surface of the driveway. Much less friction that way and allows you to get a shovel full each time :)

I'm doing 3.5 tons myself but smaller river rock. Easier to handle. All I know is I don't have any problem falling asleep after doing many rounds with that rock.
Looks great and a perfect choice for the beds against the house. The plastic landscape fabric with river rock on top is great to divert water away from the house's foundation with very little rain water soaking down into the soil around the house.
I’ve been there right with ya 😌. Amazing to look at the completed project knowing that you physically touched almost every single rock ! Looks really nice !
Hi new subscriber 👋 I did this all along my fence line and front yard" after giving the design area's a week of settling down, where I wanted the rock's to be, I went back in with several can's of clear coat" over the rock's to give them that wet look, turned out really nice!👍🥰
In this area they are called river rocks but the delivery guy for one load said they are mined in any gravel pit and just size sorted by machines...they are found anywhere in the ground....we add more color to the top each year by bringing home white ones or special colored ones from trips to the ocean....looks beautiful and is timeless.
I wish when y'all do these type of video's you would share the cost . I know times changes , prices changes but it would be interesting to see the cost of rock versus mulch.
I ordered some 3-4" cobble rocks (3 yards) in September of 2020, not long after this video was made. Unfortunately, the rocks I received included a *large* amount of clay mixed in. Not the kind of stuff you can just easily rinse out. I spent weeks trying to wash the rocks, only managing to fully wash 1 yard of it. Please learn from my lesson and ensure you're getting relatively clean cobble. Large piles of clay mixed in will ruin a project like this.
I want to do this at our home in southeast Georgia. I'm being told that putting landscaping rocks makes the plant bed too 🔥 hot it could burn up the plants. Is that true?
Surprised he didn’t mention removing 3-6inch of soil prior to, instead of adding straight on top. Thought that was common practice, would give property more water retainage/storage during big rain event
Just curious about if the dumping on the bare cement like that caused any kind of issues at all as far as chipping or colored mineral transference etc? Job looks great tho!
I love it!!! How would grass n weeds be cleared once they start growing through the rocks? Not knowing the answer is the only reason I hesitate to do something like this. It is absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing
Curious how your plants are holding up with plastic tarp instead of landscaping fabric? Any weeds? Nice project, I can appreciate the effort of moving that much rock.
Thanks for video, just curious any damage dropping it on your driveway? I have a concrete drive as well. How many ton did you use for this video project?
Awesome, this are the exact kind of rocks I want, now I know what to ask for, I also know it’s going to be absolutely dreadful cos a shovel won’t work... So is that lawn fabric or something else and how much rock did you buy cos I need to this around the perimeter of my place, thx, 👍🏾👊🏾✌🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸

Small tips... hose down the solid rocks first, less transfer of dirt in bed for weeds to grow, also use a 5 gallon bucket and push rocks into bucket.
I've tried that and it works well.
Very good tips

It's nice to see I am not alone in my love of rocks in a yard.
Absolutely beautiful! I love rocks! All my beds are edged in rocks. The rainbow rock is gorgeous! Thank you!
It's a good looking color!

Your bed looks great! I did the same thing with river rocks many years ago. Still looks beautiful.

My man! Just like me: Us, the wheelbarrows and the shovels! 👏👍
River rocks are my favorite too, love all the different colors.
Rocks are free on the beach I always loved rocks the big ones are so awesome!
They are beautiful rocks you have inspired me I would like to get a few rocks around all my pottery
Go for it Edila!

Thanks for watching! It was a fun project.
I was going to say the same thing. Every single rock he touched! I did this to my landscaping 15yrs ago. It was hard work but It still looks good.
Looks great!!
Nice work!
3 yrs later and I bet you still look doen at rocks, admiring the beauty God places in something so unique yet overlooked by many.❤
Amen to that!
Looks great!
Looks beautiful !!! maybe a small garden fountain tricking down some of the rocks would enhance it and make the river sound
Lots of work but well worth it, looks so good.
*Nice job*
Wow I’m so jealous of that stone yard near you! The stone yards around here don’t have nearly the selection of gravels
It's nice to have a good selection thanks to the Platte river.
Same here
thank the lord you weren't any annoying Nebraska Huskers gear, thank you, sincerely, from Colorado

Diamond pro concrete sealer. Super shine that’ll last some time. Expensive yes, no more than type of stone being used.

A little bit but not terrible. Thanks for the compliment. It was a fun project!
Great job!
Love it!!
Супер,мне очень понравилось!!!super, I really liked it !!!
Good job
Cost of thee rocks and how much you brought?
I love how Bailey is helping you! I hear her in the background! I love your landscaping! Uncle Steve and I are going to use river rock!
Hi Ryan, how do you order the rock, by the sq yard or by the ton? 👍🏻🇺🇸
A large scoop shovel would be handy. Its similar to a snow shovel. Take it easy though . Dont hurt your back.
I wish when y'all do these type of video's you would share the cost . I know times changes , prices changes but it would be interesting to see the cost of rock versus mulch.
$150 a ton. I got 3 tons.
@@RyanMOutdoors thank you much

I want to make one in my grandma’s house 🏡 with cactus 🌵 inside old tires 🛞 from my cars! It’s going to be awesome 👏 🙌👍♥️🇵🇷🌹🙏🏻
That sounds great!
Nice job bro. 👍! Those rocks are huge, lol 😂! Heck of a workout.
Thanks for watching the vid. It was fun for sure. I Like making things look good.
How much rock was that?
That's some big ass river rock
How many yards of rock was delivered?
What was the cost of the rocks? Beautiful job 👏
Thanks! About $800
@@RyanMOutdoors ok....thanks
@@RyanMOutdoors it's free near my place 😮😮😮😮😮
Good work how does it look now?
Looks pretty good!
Any idea how many cubic yards this was? Or tons?
How much area and how much rock??
I made some decking and rock areas in my back yard........ 70 wheelbarrow loads later....lol
That s a lot of wheel barrows. It's fun to enjoy once it's done. Hard work pays off!
I want to do this at our home in southeast Georgia. I'm being told that putting landscaping rocks makes the plant bed too 🔥 hot it could burn up the plants. Is that true?
That is true. Be sure to water them more. It's worth it though from an anesthetic standpoint.
Does Lowe’s sell in small bags
How much rock did you get at what cost?
Cost of rocks and delivery?
Very nice. Next time use a small bucket to fill up then stones. Its much faster... no weeds out so far?
Good tip.

Co poděkovat řidiči ,že totak hezky složilq.QU nás je to zvykem........vážíme si všech povoláni.
Great video....u gave me a great suggestion for a rock bed.
lay a piece of strong tarp on the floor then with your feet kick them onto the tarp and then you can drag the tarp across over the the bed in batches
How many tons did you get
How many tons of rock did you get for this project? Nice work!
In another comment he said 3 tons at $150/ ton.
ty@@teamturner3933
Cool video. Have you had any issues with weeds since then?
How man cubic yards was this?
I love the look but rocks are such a pain in the ass to move around! I'm doing it right now. It sucks. I envy those who can afford to hire landscapers
Just curious about if the dumping on the bare cement like that caused any kind of issues at all as far as chipping or colored mineral transference etc?
Job looks great tho!
No it didn't cause any issues. Thanks fir watching and the compliment.
Did you used weed barriers?
How many yards or tons are there?
Nice job sir. I’m trying to do the same thing at home. What type of tarp or landscape fabric did you use to cover the soil? Thanks
What size river rock sir ? How much
4-6 inch. 6 ton
@@RyanMOutdoors thanks sir watching from Louisville Kentucky great content
Good idea at rock River
How much was delivered?
Nevermind, found it in comments, nice work!
Nice vid. What kind of tarp did you use. I have rock beds and stupidly didnt put sny tarp, sand, and pea gravel down and now need to redo
I used roofing tarp that is put down under shingles. Its thick and keeps the weeds out.
@@RyanMOutdoors That's actually really smart. Thanks for the tip
Can I ask what state you got the company is in
Nebraska
What's the cost? It's breaking back.
It wont damage the concrete dumping those tons of rocks like that?
Nope. As long as it is scattered a little.
@@RyanMOutdoors Okay I thought with the impact of it falling off the truck, I could just see it cracking some driveways. I guess it's all good.
Concrete is very durable only will crack because weight and freeze thaw
How many tons did you order?
6 ton
I realize this is an old comment and prices have changed but how much would that much rock cost?
I'd say around $600-700.
thanks
Sir, your bed looks great 👍
How many ton of rock you ordered?
I want to do this like you
Thank you!
6 ton.

How many square feet is that
Not sure. I ordered 6 ton of rock.
River Rock would have been better to work with. That's what I used here in Kissimmee Florida. Good luck 👍
Where did you order your rocks from? I'm in your area?
What did it cost per ton?
$120 per ton
Good Video Ryan M! But I'm the Real Ryan M buddy! Lol
Lol! "Will the real RYAN M please stand up please stand up." Thanks for watching Ryan M!
What happens when weeds start growing threw the landscape fabric, man good luck trying to remove those heavy rocks. Looks nice though
Just keep pulling the weeds. It was a lot if hard work but worth it. Thanks for watching. I like showing everything outdoors on the channel.
How many tons is that.. I just ordered 10 tons..
6 ton
Where do people find these rocks for a reasonable cost . They are so expensive everywhere I look .
They are pricey. The bigger and colorful the more $$.
I love it!!! How would grass n weeds be cleared once they start growing through the rocks? Not knowing the answer is the only reason I hesitate to do something like this. It is absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing
Hopefully the underlay will keep the weeds out. If not I'll spray them. Thanks for the compliment and watching. It was fun to do!
Actually it is guaranteed that weeds will come through. And he is right, He will spray for weeds. That’s the part I don’t like.
Curious how your plants are holding up with plastic tarp instead of landscaping fabric? Any weeds? Nice project, I can appreciate the effort of moving that much rock.
Doing good. I do have to pull some weeds here and there. Leaves like to get stuck in the rock. I just shuffle them around while leaf blowing
Did I miss it. Did you mention HOW much Rocks were dumped for your three areas. How many yards of rock did you actually use (any left over =to much?)
I had 1 ton delivered. Can't remember the different deminsions of each garden bed. I had a handful of 5 gallon buckets left over.
That's closer to 2 than 1.
I'm considering rock instead of mulch but hearing it's not a good idea as weeds still grow through it.
Not as long as you have a strong underwater of plastic.
Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/jytTv14c08A/v-deo.html
Plastic and 2 layers of fabric. If weeds come through, you just weed wack and leaf blow out the rocks.
Always double check for arrowheads. I found a point that is thousands of years old.
Snow shovel works best for large stone
Good idea!
A pitch fork is good to use on rocks of that size. You'll be happier with the results.
That s a good tip!
Even bark mulch is easier to move with a pitch fork.
Very strenuous, but worth it!
Very true Faye. Thanks for watching.
