Thanks for this playthrough! (I like this automa variant a lot so far). It seems too easy even on "normal" difficulty though, I'm gonna try the "hard" mode next time.

@@fredericletourneau4831 You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Keep an eye on anything Patrick may be doing to tweak it too on BGG. He had some notes in his comment here for this playthrough as well.

Nice job! I love a lot of your ideas for improvement. Thank you.
Just a couple of corrections on the rules:
    1) when the bot “prefers movement that gains cards” it’s only considering the turn it’s taking, not potential future turns. So I hope that makes the decision space lighter.
2)when making moment toward a particular attribute (ex: inspiration), always aim for as straight of a a line as possible toward the indicated attribute sphere. If you enter a crossroads where you need to go around a tile (let’s say either towards wisdom or towards courage) the bot will always choose the path that gains them a card this turn, and secondly the path that will reveal more tiles. If neither, then it’s players choice - even if its in your advantage.
    3) aggressively shuffle automa cards. 😁 you were definitely right - it was odd to see all the small movements in the first half of the deck.

Awesome, thank you for the clarifications! Believe it or not I shuffled the heck out of that deck beforehand haha, it must have just been a fluke. So just to clarify, if they are not going to be gaining cards from any actions then we don't need to worry about them moving towards card gaining locations, correct? Would they then default to move in a direction that would allow them to gain control then if it's on their card to do so, but still be restricted to having to move their full movement? Otherwise, if there are no preferred locations, we can just place them wherever we want to so long as it is still in that direction of the white die?

@@organiccardboard as a solo player, the design intention of the bot was to allow you to play your game without having to worry too much about theirs.
So I recommend in the first half of the game just asking yourself: “if I take them down this route does it reveal tiles?” (which benefits you both)
OR “if they go in the same direction but just go left around the tile vs right will they gain a card?”
Rule of thumb: If they aren’t gaining cards (which is their primary way of battling you for points) then just use their movement to reveal tiles.
Once most of tiles are revealed, then you can just focus on either gaining cards or getting to control a region for the bot.
At least that how I do it. 🙂
Side note: A lot of this may change in future versions as I introduce “personalities” similar to what you find in Vestige, who might only care about controlling regions, while others care about gaining monsters, etc.

Personalities would be so cool! Kudos to you for having the brain to put together even this one!
Another thing I thought about was that once all of the proficiency tiles have been taken then any additional attribute gains by the solo are wasted. Maybe they could be traded in at the end for points based on the difficulty level? Like trade in to make the most possible of the higher level attributes and those be worth one point a piece or more for higher difficulty levels. The highest difficulty levels could just give a straight point for every attribute cube regardless of type at the end.
