Design your wardrobe is great! I don't have a webcam or mic and was still super included on the zooms just using the chat function. Erica does a wonderful job of taking a small question and allowing everyone to get in on talking about it, and without even realising its happened you leave the meeting with a head full of new ideas and inspo. Looking forward to zooming with you all again this weekend :D
Erica does do an excellent job of facilitating those discussions! So glad you're enjoying them!
My next sewing project is a lounge bra (the superstar lounge bra by waves and wild). I've been wearing underwires since my teens so we'll see how I get on! I'm curious about making my own lingerie (if I can find patterns that work for me) as the options in shops at my size (E-F cup) are often either ugly or expensive, and the pattern pieces are little (good news for a small -space sewist). So far I've made some knickers, and I'm really impressed by the effort that goes into making even everyday knicks. The people in knicker factories have some skills!
My next sewing project is a bud shirt in thin white cotton. In summer, I like to tight a knot with my over size shirt under light dresses or tops. I will probably jump for an Emma dress with tropical fabric after that.
This is always nice to see your plan.
Winter is coming here and I'm inspired to sew some drapey relaxed fit winter pants, I guess trouser style. I'm hoping to come up with a pattern that can be a warm weather linen pants but also a cold weather pant. I'm going to experiment with what pant weight I'll need in winter. It's possible a heavyweight linen might suit for the better part of my mild winter, here's hoping.
Yes to dresses for summer! I like the vintage vibe you are planning, especially with the color palette you choose. I have fabrics and patterns matched up for my own summer sewing. Along with the Weston shorts, the Lexi skirt and so on :-)
Happy sewing!
I love your plans! It all feels so light and airy and effortless. I'm planning on working on an off-white linen Benning dress pretty soon. I am seeking an easy-to-wear and flowy dress for those hots summer days, that can be dressed up or down.
That sounds lovely!
Oh my gosh! I also decided to make the Kari for this season! Thank you for this comprehensive outline. I'm looking forward to DYW this season.
You'll have to post your Kari project in the Community! Can't wait to see it.
How many garments do you realistically aim for?
It depends on the season, but anywhere from 3-6 generally.
Top of my to sew list is actually a blast from the past. I want to make myself a couple of new Aurora tops. (June 2015? Seamwork I believe) I made a number of them when it was first released and most of them really show their wear. And just to top that off-I made a long sleeve dress version of Mesa from that same issue in January this year.
Nice!
Some linen pants and a sundress with lots of volume
Sounds great!
How do you print out your Pinterest pics?
That'll depend on the devices you're using! Best advice is to google how to do so with the computer and printer combination you're using.
