I am finally replacing my 1st generation iPad pro 12.9 and pencil. I picked the 13 and 1T. I did buy the magic keyboard but I worry as I do a lot of handwriting in note taking and I know that the keyboard does not fold back all the way. Since I do a lot of public speaking from my ipad I worry that I need a separate case that is compatible with the magic keyboard.

I like the idea of the iPad but for me I get more value and flexibility from the MacBook line. I can see a use for the mini but otherwise the benefits for the cost aren’t for me. I go for the pro line normally when I buy.
Yes. I ordered a new 11 inch , 1T pro. They aren’t available next week on the 15th. Once I placed the order the ship date moved out to the first week in June. Buggars

I have finally decided to get an 11-inch iPad Air with 1TB of storage. Previously, I planned on getting an iPad Pro because only the iPad Pro models then had more than 256 GB of memory.
My current iPad Pro is an 8-year-old 10.5 inch with 256 GB of memory so the model I plan to get has three improvements:
1) faster chip
2) bigger display
3) four times the memory
Of course, if money were no object, I would get the new iPad Pro but with limited financial resources the one I chose represents the best value for money that suits my needs

The iPad Pro costs as much as a laptop without the capabilities do to the os. I’m not paying 1500 for the 13” cellular pro and the 13” air isn’t much of an upgrade to my 12.9” M1 Pro.

When you say gaming like professionally, competitively, or just for fun? Also what kind of games are we talking about?
If you want PC or console capabilities. M4 has that. If you actually want those games on the iPad 🤷♂️🤷♂️ - you would do better with a Notebook air M3. This will stay true until Apple is able to get AAA game companies to make IOS versions. Still has yet to happen even after years of baiting.
@@markoconnell804 but to a certain extent, with 8 and 16 gb the kind of gaming will be limited regardless of how “capable” the M4 is. Especially when gaming professionally. If it’s just for fun all versions of this iPad is more than capable; competitive with friends or local group depends on the game being played but more than likely 16gb ram is recommended; anything professional, I recommend a 16gb or a 32gb ram device that’s been specifically made for gaming

It sure is. For CPU it is either 9 or 10 cores. GPU it is 10 cores
One more thing they didn't mention:
The new iPad models got "Smart HDR 4" for the front facing camera. The older iPads got version 3. I have honestly no idea what the difference is between HDR 3 and 4 🥺
And I have to mention this: you're talking about "120 gigabits per second". It's actually gigabytes per second (GB/s). Maybe you thought about the only port that got a speed that we measure in gigabits per second?
Also worth to talk about is this:
iPad Pro M2 got a 40 Gbps port
iPad Air M2 got only a 10 Gbps port
So no Thunderbolt support at all. Not even USB4. Only USB3. Probably also support for USB2 and 1.
Same (?) M2 chip in iPad Pro M2 and iPad Air M2 but different port. This is worth talking about!
However this got nothing to do with the display support. Both Pro and Air still support up to 6K60.
And this 8 or 16 GB RAM thing. More RAM was also exclusive on 1 and 2 TB for iPad Pro M2 and iPad Pro M1.
The last thing is that M4 don't have the fastest NPU. It's a lot faster now which is good. 38 TOPS. The first NPU from Apple was 0,600 TOPS I think and I think that was A11 Bionic. All "Bionic" chips got NPU (Neural Engine). The new X Elite got 45 TOPS so it's 18% faster than M4 in that area. M4 got probably much better TOPS per watts (I have a strong feeling about that) but we have to wait and see about that.

I was really hoping a new iPad Mini would be announced. I wanted to upgrade my wife's iPad Mini 4.
Eh.. not enough to upgrade from my gen5 ipad pro. Fairly disappointing. If they upgrade the ipad os to be more mac like and it only runs on M4 chip, then yes i’ll upgrade. Otherwise, nope.
Why does Apple INSIST on thinner designs? I've never heard anyone say they need a slimmer device... But you know what would be absolutely magical? Longer f**king battery life.

The new pencil not working with previous iPad isn't bizarre. Because they moved the camera on the long side, the charging contacts aren't in the same place and therefore are incompatible with the new pencil.

Apple's game playing with configurations is getting crazier and crazier to trying and make base prices look okay (Apple is always expensive), but to get a usable config you have to add on expensive options.
Also, there was no mention of any changes to the iPad Mini. Just sayin'.

Is the term “Pro” marketing or is it the intended use? For those who would pay upwards over $3,000 for a Pro, some would also have internet service beyond 1Gbps. I would think someone with 5 or even 10Gbps service is asking themselves…and Apple, “Where’s WiFi7?”

That’s a lot of disappointment for a « Pro » item… For me an iPadPro doesn’t need to be ultra thin. It must be rugged. Also the battery life is paramount if you work on the field. Not good at all!

Watched the video. So underwhelmed by it. Same crippled IOS operating system. Hey Apple. Let the IOS software run all my macintosh only programs and legacy stuff, using Rosetta! Did Apple actually fix the broken file managment system on the IPAD. Apple is ripping us off with its overpriced terrabyte storage cost. Apples cloud storage for a terrabyte is a ripoff per month. It doesn't even allow you to properly store all your files on the cloud, it juggles the files back and forth and is a fricking nightmare. I hate how my data is messed with. I've lost critical files and work projects thanks to Apples shitty backup system. F YOU APPLE.
Thanks to dropping (and destroying) my previous (but still very usable) 2018 iPad Pro last summer, I have a 2022 version. I honestly didn’t see anything in the presentation yesterday that was compelling enough to make we want to upgrade. I’m not saying that the new iPads weren’t impressive, just that there wasn’t anything about them that made me want to upgrade. Perhaps if I were an artist or a gamer…
