This feels like a genuine Sonic the Hedgehog show that would air. If this had visuals, it would be easier to tell what's happening. But over all, a very epic, and amazing series

With all respect I literally cannot see why ANYONE would think he sounds remotely like Jason griffith. Jason's approach to the character was entirely different to me. EDIT: If you are talking about how he sounds overly calm in some lines I would agree with that.
Real talk: This plot is a REAL game material. Like, very simple, different from what we had until now and could be, and will be for sure very engaging. Writing is spot on, just like acting!
Hopefully we get back to stuff like this in again in the next game, as well as bringing back Tails, and the others as playable characters. As other other than once in a blue (outsourced) moon moments like Boom, and Mania, its 14 years since most of the other characters have been playable in a mainline 3D Sonic game (Sonic 06), as Sega insist on it being Sonic or bust since Unleashed. With the exception of course of that.. THING in Forces, though personally I feel it should have been Tails, and or a rotation of having stages where the other characters like Amy and Knuckles could be playable too. Or just be able to select what character you wanted in the Player Avatar stage. It'd really make Sonic's talk about friendship and his friends helping him win feel more genuine, rather it being some guy he met 5 minutes ago and will never be seen again. God I hate Forces and what it did to Tails, and not actually letting him do anything... Sorry for ranting but I just really want to see other characters get their chance again like in the Adventure days.
@@DemonDethchase Tails has been made a coward at least since colors, in Lost World he had his moments i guess altho i didn't like him there either. I think avatar stages are okay and what i would replace with Tails would be classic Sonic. I mean, Classic Sonic in Forces doesn't change anything, messes up the whole barely existing at this point continuity, and Tails is all the time with him anyway, so replacing him with Tails would not only make Tails as a character better, but it would also give another oldschool playstyle even if they didn't change levels at all, and it wouldn't mess up more the mess that is Sonic canon and continuity. As for the game itself: Turn off the in game dialogue, it makes the whole game more enjoyable even tho level design is braindead boost to win.
@@thegsp With Forces how I would have written Tails, to explain he got scared, is after start with Infinite and everyone thinks sonic's dead it'd shatter Tails confidence and send him into a spiral of despair (yes we've already had Tails see Sonic "die" before in Adventure 2, and rather than breaking down he becomes more vengeful, but lets run with it) and rather Omega being there he'd find the old Tornado plane. The sight of that would give him abit of hope, something he's not had for a long time, but when he struggles to the plane running again he'd look at the keys Sonic gave him and he'd remember what happened, breaking down into tears, feeling guilty for not trying to help. Then Chaos would appear and Tail would get scared, because his confidence is shattered. He'd take abit of beating from Chaos, as he wouldn't make any effort to defend himself but when he sees Chaos attacking the Tornado, that would be the thing that pushes Tails into action, as it's his only connection left to Sonic. Tails would fight and beat Chaos by himself, and it'd be the first step to regaining his lost confidence. I do have more like how his mental state wasn't the greatest in fighting the war, so his confidence was pretty much hanging by a thread by the time the game started, hence why we see him getting scared of regular enemies, and Infinite was the straw that broke the camel's back. But its already getting long winded enough as it is.

I cannot believe, that that is David Humphrey as Knuckles. I remember reading, that Ryan recommended him as Shadow, back in the day, considering that he is a good friend of his. I can still hear the Shadow, in his voice, even as Knuckles. Heck, Ryan also played as Knuckles, in Advance 3, so it sort of comes full circle here, lol.

Ryan's Sonic feels like seeing a childhood friend again after so many years growing apart. He sounds like the same old Sonic we love, but with more mature and seasoned attitude.

I’ve just realized Knuckles is one of the most inconsistent Sonic characters. He went from calm but aggressive to Kinda dumb. Thanks for bringing back calm but aggressive.
He seemed a bit too calm, to be honest. Not like he needed to rage or anything, but maybe more quiver to the voice or something to show he's shocked or otherwise shaken by the news. Basically, the words didn't match the tone

@@rayraygrant191 Knuckles' voice sounds a little bit too similar to Espio. Espio also tends to show anger through a calm and serious voice. So hearing Knuckles pull off a similar tone is a bit redundant. He needs to be a bit more aggressive sounding and not as laid back.

Mike Pollock, you're incredible as per usual and Ryan Drummond - I never thought merely listening to Sonic speak could make me smile like a dork. I have to address Emi Jones, though: You not only knocked it out of the park, but you're THE voice of Tails for me from here on. There's just enough there to emulate his voice actor from Adventure, but the added PINCH of cuteness is perfect. I'm very excited for this project. Also what the heck, the audio mix and sound effects are fantastic too?!
I love hearing Ryan voicing sonic again. He sounds older and wiser, which makes his interactions with Tails and Knuckles feel like they've been friends for a lifetime. It makes him sound like he's grown from his adventures, while still retaining his free and laid back personality. Sonic sounds like he would be around 17 or even early adulthood, and that perspective makes this story so much more interesting. This is pure ear candy through and through. All of the voice actors did a phenomenal job, I can really tell lots of love was put into this. Thank you all for making it. (PS: I didn't even grow up with the adventure series and I'm really questioning why they dropped all these voice actors. They're awesome!)

Ryan’s lower Sonic voice fits surprisingly well with Sonic’s new design and the writing. this is so good!! also, the “Adventure, here we come!!” line had a little twinge of his Heroes voice, and that made me really happy :)
Wow, David Humphrey killed it as Knuckles. So glad I gave him a shot. And Ryan Drummond... holy CRAP. This is the best he's ever sounded as Sonic. And you were an incredible Tails, God this was so GOOD! Can't wait for more!

I'm literally in tears, I missed Ryan so much. Can't express the feeling of this but I actually feel like I'm on a cutscene of SA and the nostalgia is fucking killing me. When Ryan said "did you missed me?" I couldn't control myself, it's like coming back to when I was a child and I would only play SA on my dad's PC, only to beat the same game over and over again nonstop. Thank you so much Emi for setting up this, and thank you Mike, David, and everyone involved for making this possible. Thank you all for this amazing gift, this has brighten up my whole day :')
@@chaocobojun2098 There is NO way Roger fits Sonic's character more than Jason. Especially considering that Jason basically started immitating Ryan, then developed into his owm. Roger never bothered doing that, and the writers had no idea about any of the plot in Sonic games or how they're supposed to be characterised.

Also I don’t remember Jason imitating Ryan, what games can I play where I would hear that if I listened for it? When I think of Jason I think of someone who doesn’t have his own style, because from the very beginning it sounded like he was trying to be Junichi Kanemaru but in English. Imitating Kanemaru is admirable since he is best Sonic, but I feel like he should have his own thing. What games does he start to have his own style? I"VE MISSED RYAN SOOOOOO MUCH! He's what Charles Martinet is to Mario for Sonic (same for Mike as Eggman). You were FANTASTIC as Tails, honestly think you might be the best Tails voice I've heard. Mike kills it as Eggman as always and, while it took some getting used to, I think David makes a good Knuckles. Very mellow and deep without sounding overly aggressive. Someone, PLEASE animate this. I NEED it in my life. Cannot WAIT for the rest.

Like if I was a kid and you were him and more of his direction came from the way you think he should sound.. I may have been a pretty big Tails fan.
See? This is the type of Knuckles I prefer. He may not be the smartest of the bunch, but he's still has some knowledge and wisdom especially when it involves the emeralds. Not a fan of the complete neanderthal Sega has de-evolved him into these days.
Knuckles is my favorite character and I choose to think Boom doesn't exist lol. He's actually very serious and dedicated! But short and narrow sighted. I wouldn't really call him stupid, he just has a one track mind.
Fun fact: Mike Pollock's eggman has now fought all three sonics in the modern sonic video game era. Jason Griffiths Sonic, then Rogers, now Ryan Drummonds lol.
Aight these voice performences are just perfect. Imagine a game with these team Ryan = Perfect voice acting and soul Mike = Perfect voice acting and REAL entertainig to listen to David = Excelent performance and a voice that you would listen after a really estresful day. Emi = Excelent performance and would be such an AWESOME singer. I really hope in a future SEGA would hire again Ryan and would hire Emi, 'cause these two are the perfect voices for Sonic and Tails. Great job everyone! Keep it up!

This sounds like I'm just bullshitting but hearing Ryan's Sonic voice and like yeah.... it's changed but I actually think it's gotten even better??? Like he still sounds like he has the energy but more importantly he sounds like he has the maturity he's been missing in the latest games too... I know this isn't entirely in your control but God... I really hope we get to see all four of you take your roles in a new game again. Like, at the same time I mean. Nothing against Roger, he's doing great but it's still hard after all these years to feel like his Sonic has replaced the original. I'm rambling, sorry. This is great by the way. Short but sweet. To steal a Sonic quote for when he gets an S rank in Sonic '06: THAT WAS INCREDIBLE! Almost 20 years and Ryan hasn't lost his touch. I've MISSED hearing him voice the blue blur. He's just perfect for the role! As for the Tails voice - Emi, I'm going to be shocked if you don't get commissioned by SEGA to carry on the role. You did so well that I could've sworn you'd been doing this for a long time! Mr. Pollock, you've still got it for Eggman! And David Humphrey did great as Knuckles! As for the plot about the Chaos Emeralds being shattered...I'm calling this canon and NOBODY can tell me otherwise. So pumped for Episode 2! Blue blurs for life!
Now this feels like a true Sonic Adventure Reunion! It feels so good to hear Ryan as Sonic again, after all these years he's still got it! Really surprised to hear David Humphrey back but as Knuckles and he does a surprisingly good job. Emi you are just perfect as Tails. You were born for this role. Of course Mike is a delight as Eggman, still can't believe he joined in on this project! I can't wait to hear more episodes!
An animatic/storyboard would be fine too! aaaaa it feels so canon with the games, and just gives each character so much emotion that you just want to give them life visually
He's a Union worker, Sega doesn't like those. Ryan Drummond tried twice(if not more) to land a role, he tried in 4kids era and got declined and he tried in modern era Unless Sega management changes or they start caring about fans, neither Ryan nor other SA2 voices will come back
I hear that he's trying once again. Ryan says his agent reached out to Sega, and now we have to wait. It is unlikely he will return, but I sure hope he does.
@Federal Bureau of Investigation I would agree with you but Mike Pollock has been voicing Eggman for almost 20 years. While Ryan only got to voice Sonic for 6. Thats less than all the other sonic Vas got. So its not like he's hogging the spotlight.

When Mr. Humphrey was about to get into it with Sonic, I heard his inner Shadow come out from 4:43 to 5:00 despite playing Knuckles, literally tears of joy from me. Keeping my fingers crossed we get a certain Ultimate Lifeform in this series! Not to mention you killed it as Tails, as you always do! With the most sincerity I can give, *thank you so, so much for this.* I just found it today and it made my whole month.
I always get hit with a wave of feelings when I hear Ryan Drummond. He is the voice of Sonic in my favorite Sonic games after all. He has always been my definitive Sonic voice, so glad to hear him again!

Wow! That was so much better than I expected. And hearing Ryan voice a more grounded and less "cocky" Sonic is always really nice. We usually associate him with the more attitude-heavy version we see in the Dreamcast era. But this really shows what else he is capable of. Top notch delivery from everyone though!
Late to the party, but Shadow the Hedgehog was actually called Sonic Adventure 3 by SEGA for a little while. The reason why the game style hasn't happened again is, according to SEGA, they don't "see growth in the adventure formula" right now. Though seeing the decline in boost formula games and the recent emphasis on exploring Sonic's roots a bit more, mayhaps 2021 will be the return to Adventure? Have faith. Hope for the best but expect the worst.
Great idea to release this in Sonic's 29th Birthday! Unfortunately, I won't be able to see the premier, as that's when I have my graduation ceremony. But, I will see it when I have the time! :)

I nearly was brought to tears the moment I head Humphrey. It was such a surprise for me, I am almost demanding SEGA to bring back these voices for something official. Ryan, David, and even Emi did amazing. The idea of sonic x redubbed with the Adventure cast makes my brain melt.

The writing and tone in this is just so spot on. Real adventure era writing. The characters aren't parodies of themselves; they're real people. You got it spot on! Really captured the spirit of Sonic! The spirit that's been missing for a long time. Ryan Drummond performed Sonic with an emotional depth that has disappeared in recent years. Made Sonic feel like a real person, not just the 'haha, gotta go fast! Baldy noeshair' guy he's become. Sonic's known for wisecracks, but that doesn't mean his dialogue should consist entirely of them. You did it. You fixed it. The Tails voice is spot on as well. I would totally accept this as the new canon voice.

Hearing that "Adventure here we come!" was the best way I could ever imagine knowing that Ryan was back. David Humphrey was a pleasant surprise, and Mike Pollock is perfect as usual. I'm excited to see where this goes next!
There are certain fan works out there that are very close or even precisely feeling like they came from the official publisher themselves; not many fan works out reach that level of quality and craftsmanship. To be honest . . .this feels like one of those. A bit too much praise? Sure maybe, but I can't help but feel that way. No, I'm not suggesting the *"SeGa ShOuLd HiRe YoU!!!"* nonsense, but man this entire project is impressing me so far. A voice cast here is stellar overall. Mike Pollock doing phenomenal as aways as Eggman, but Ryan Drummond performance for Sonic is something to behold. Very impressive for someone how hasn't voiced the characters in 16 years (aside from a few fan videos and such); sounding extremely close to how he voiced Sonic back then. Tails was great too, sounding very close to how Colleen O'Shaughnessey voices him (great job as ever, Emi). Finally David Humphery as Knuckles was a surprise to hear; for being the original English voice actor for Shadow, he didn't do half bad as Knuckles. Not bad at all. Writing and characterization is also pretty solid as well so far, and I can't wait for more. This is a great birthday present from fans to celebrate 29 years of Sonic the Hedgehog.
My kids are burgeoning Sonic fans and LOVED this! They don’t know Drummond by name, but recognized him as “Sonic from Sonic Adventure.” They can’t wait to hear the whole series!
My life is ACTUALLY complete. This is a dream come true! All my favorite Sonic VAs reprising their roles (yes, you're my favorite tails no questions please) with an actual serious storyline? Literally the best day of my life. So glad I got to see the premier of this, cannot wait for the next episodes!

Hopefully we get back to stuff like this in again in the next game, as well as bringing back Tails, and the others as playable characters. As other other than once in a blue (outsourced) moon moments like Boom, and Mania, its 14 years since most of the other characters have been playable in a mainline 3D Sonic game (Sonic 06), as Sega insist on it being Sonic or bust since Unleashed. With the exception of course of that.. THING in Forces, though personally I feel it should have been Tails, and or a rotation of having stages where the other characters like Amy and Knuckles could be playable too. Or just be able to select what character you wanted in the Player Avatar stage. It'd really make Sonic's talk about friendship and his friends helping him win feel more genuine, rather it being some guy he met 5 minutes ago and will never be seen again. God I hate Forces and what it did to Tails, and not actually letting him do anything... Sorry for ranting but I just really want to see other characters get their chance again like in the Adventure days.
@@DemonDethchase Tails has been made a coward at least since colors, in Lost World he had his moments i guess altho i didn't like him there either. I think avatar stages are okay and what i would replace with Tails would be classic Sonic. I mean, Classic Sonic in Forces doesn't change anything, messes up the whole barely existing at this point continuity, and Tails is all the time with him anyway, so replacing him with Tails would not only make Tails as a character better, but it would also give another oldschool playstyle even if they didn't change levels at all, and it wouldn't mess up more the mess that is Sonic canon and continuity.
As for the game itself: Turn off the in game dialogue, it makes the whole game more enjoyable even tho level design is braindead boost to win.
@@thegsp With Forces how I would have written Tails, to explain he got scared, is after start with Infinite and everyone thinks sonic's dead it'd shatter Tails confidence and send him into a spiral of despair (yes we've already had Tails see Sonic "die" before in Adventure 2, and rather than breaking down he becomes more vengeful, but lets run with it) and rather Omega being there he'd find the old Tornado plane. The sight of that would give him abit of hope, something he's not had for a long time, but when he struggles to the plane running again he'd look at the keys Sonic gave him and he'd remember what happened, breaking down into tears, feeling guilty for not trying to help. Then Chaos would appear and Tail would get scared, because his confidence is shattered. He'd take abit of beating from Chaos, as he wouldn't make any effort to defend himself but when he sees Chaos attacking the Tornado, that would be the thing that pushes Tails into action, as it's his only connection left to Sonic. Tails would fight and beat Chaos by himself, and it'd be the first step to regaining his lost confidence.
I do have more like how his mental state wasn't the greatest in fighting the war, so his confidence was pretty much hanging by a thread by the time the game started, hence why we see him getting scared of regular enemies, and Infinite was the straw that broke the camel's back. But its already getting long winded enough as it is.
Hearing Drummond and Mike is so surreal. It's like hearing two VASTLY different eras of Sonic.

I cannot believe, that that is David Humphrey as Knuckles. I remember reading, that Ryan recommended him as Shadow, back in the day, considering that he is a good friend of his. I can still hear the Shadow, in his voice, even as Knuckles. Heck, Ryan also played as Knuckles, in Advance 3, so it sort of comes full circle here, lol.

Scott Dreier voiced Knuckles in Sonic Advance 3 and Adventure 2. In Shuffle, he was voiced by Ryan Drummond, and in Adventure 1, he was voiced by Michael McGaharn.

Ryan's Sonic feels like seeing a childhood friend again after so many years growing apart. He sounds like the same old Sonic we love, but with more mature and seasoned attitude.

I’ve just realized Knuckles is one of the most inconsistent Sonic characters. He went from calm but aggressive to Kinda dumb. Thanks for bringing back calm but aggressive.
He seemed a bit too calm, to be honest. Not like he needed to rage or anything, but maybe more quiver to the voice or something to show he's shocked or otherwise shaken by the news. Basically, the words didn't match the tone

@@rayraygrant191 Knuckles' voice sounds a little bit too similar to Espio. Espio also tends to show anger through a calm and serious voice. So hearing Knuckles pull off a similar tone is a bit redundant. He needs to be a bit more aggressive sounding and not as laid back.

Mike Pollock, you're incredible as per usual and Ryan Drummond - I never thought merely listening to Sonic speak could make me smile like a dork. I have to address Emi Jones, though: You not only knocked it out of the park, but you're THE voice of Tails for me from here on. There's just enough there to emulate his voice actor from Adventure, but the added PINCH of cuteness is perfect. I'm very excited for this project.

same, i don't know why but hearing Ryan's Sonic makes me smile so much, in other words, my favorite.
I love hearing Ryan voicing sonic again. He sounds older and wiser, which makes his interactions with Tails and Knuckles feel like they've been friends for a lifetime. It makes him sound like he's grown from his adventures, while still retaining his free and laid back personality. Sonic sounds like he would be around 17 or even early adulthood, and that perspective makes this story so much more interesting. This is pure ear candy through and through. All of the voice actors did a phenomenal job, I can really tell lots of love was put into this. Thank you all for making it.
(PS: I didn't even grow up with the adventure series and I'm really questioning why they dropped all these voice actors. They're awesome!)
Sega made a contract with 4Kidz to use the VAs from X in the games that's why the adventure era VA's don't reprise their roles post Heroes

I"VE MISSED RYAN SOOOOOO MUCH! He's what Charles Martinet is to Mario for Sonic (same for Mike as Eggman). You were FANTASTIC as Tails, honestly think you might be the best Tails voice I've heard. Mike kills it as Eggman as always and, while it took some getting used to, I think David makes a good Knuckles. Very mellow and deep without sounding overly aggressive.

Now this feels like a true Sonic Adventure Reunion! It feels so good to hear Ryan as Sonic again, after all these years he's still got it! Really surprised to hear David Humphrey back but as Knuckles and he does a surprisingly good job. Emi you are just perfect as Tails. You were born for this role. Of course Mike is a delight as Eggman, still can't believe he joined in on this project! I can't wait to hear more episodes!

Wow! That was so much better than I expected. And hearing Ryan voice a more grounded and less "cocky" Sonic is always really nice. We usually associate him with the more attitude-heavy version we see in the Dreamcast era. But this really shows what else he is capable of. Top notch delivery from everyone though!

Late to the party, but Shadow the Hedgehog was actually called Sonic Adventure 3 by SEGA for a little while. The reason why the game style hasn't happened again is, according to SEGA, they don't "see growth in the adventure formula" right now.
Though seeing the decline in boost formula games and the recent emphasis on exploring Sonic's roots a bit more, mayhaps 2021 will be the return to Adventure?
Have faith. Hope for the best but expect the worst.

I nearly was brought to tears the moment I head Humphrey. It was such a surprise for me, I am almost demanding SEGA to bring back these voices for something official. Ryan, David, and even Emi did amazing. The idea of sonic x redubbed with the Adventure cast makes my brain melt.
Gotta say, David Humphrey does a darn good impression of Scott Dreier’s Knuckles. I love this, can’t wait to hear more from this talented cast

Ryan Drummond's still got it! You made a great Tails! Sega should hire you for one of the games, if they haven't already! Awesome that you got Mike Pollock to take part! Funny to hear Shadow's old VA, David Humphrey as Knuckles, but he actually suits him!
Ahhh... It's so good to hear Ryan and David arguing with each other! It's almost like I never left the new millennium!
The writing and tone in this is just so spot on. Real adventure era writing. The characters aren't parodies of themselves; they're real people. You got it spot on! Really captured the spirit of Sonic! The spirit that's been missing for a long time.
Ryan Drummond performed Sonic with an emotional depth that has disappeared in recent years. Made Sonic feel like a real person, not just the 'haha, gotta go fast! Baldy noeshair' guy he's become. Sonic's known for wisecracks, but that doesn't mean his dialogue should consist entirely of them.
You did it. You fixed it.
The Tails voice is spot on as well. I would totally accept this as the new canon voice.

I love Ryan, and man I got chills hearing him again, but DAVID TOO??? Was NOT expecting that. Caught me SO off guard. I heard him and screamed "NO WAY WHAT?!?!"
This certainly felt extremely special. I've always loved your voice Emi, Mike made me smile, Ryan gave me chills, and David made me cry. TOO GOOD. Thank you all that worked on this.

WOW!!! Everyone sounded amazing and the dialogue is really well written! Interesting to hear Humphrey voicing Knuckles lol he actually sounds kinda close to Scott Dreier in some instances. Very curious to see where the story goes! Fantastic job to everyone involved! :)))

Hearing that "Adventure here we come!" was the best way I could ever imagine knowing that Ryan was back. David Humphrey was a pleasant surprise, and Mike Pollock is perfect as usual. I'm excited to see where this goes next!
There are certain fan works out there that are very close or even precisely feeling like they came from the official publisher themselves; not many fan works out reach that level of quality and craftsmanship.
To be honest . . .this feels like one of those.
A bit too much praise? Sure maybe, but I can't help but feel that way.
No, I'm not suggesting the *"SeGa ShOuLd HiRe YoU!!!"* nonsense, but man this entire project is impressing me so far.
A voice cast here is stellar overall. Mike Pollock doing phenomenal as aways as Eggman, but Ryan Drummond performance for Sonic is something to behold. Very impressive for someone how hasn't voiced the characters in 16 years (aside from a few fan videos and such); sounding extremely close to how he voiced Sonic back then.
Tails was great too, sounding very close to how Colleen O'Shaughnessey voices him (great job as ever, Emi). Finally David Humphery as Knuckles was a surprise to hear; for being the original English voice actor for Shadow, he didn't do half bad as Knuckles. Not bad at all.
Writing and characterization is also pretty solid as well so far, and I can't wait for more.
This is a great birthday present from fans to celebrate 29 years of Sonic the Hedgehog.

My kids are burgeoning Sonic fans and LOVED this! They don’t know Drummond by name, but recognized him as “Sonic from Sonic Adventure.” They can’t wait to hear the whole series!

My life is ACTUALLY complete. This is a dream come true! All my favorite Sonic VAs reprising their roles (yes, you're my favorite tails no questions please) with an actual serious storyline? Literally the best day of my life. So glad I got to see the premier of this, cannot wait for the next episodes!
