Hi Kaela , This is truly a foundational family packed chapter. Your suggestion to make a Family Tree of Noah’s sons & the more significant descendants of Noah ( his grandsons ) and ( the land they went to 🗺️ and populated and their languages ) makes sense because this is a lot to swallow 🙆🏻♀️ I’m very curious about skin colours where certain ethnic groups came from today. Very interesting indeed 😊 📝
Wow, this chapter Genesis chapter 10 is really a map. And the workout challenge is very interesting.God help me to find out as much as I can. It will be nice. Much thanks kaela❤
Good morning. Thank you for these videos. I'm still working through Galatians - Colossians. Your workbook is so helpful. I've printed it out and it's in a 3 prong folder in my prayer/study caddy
Good morning, Ms. K! Bring on the names. It's names that made me start reading the whole Bible to be honest. I didn't know the genealogy in Matthew. Then I got curious. That was 3 years ago!
Genesis 10 and 11 are basically one long genealogy connecting Noah to Abraham with two short intermissions, 10:8-‐12 and 11:1-‐9. The second of these parentheses is what we will be studying this week in small groups. God “rebooted” creation with Noah, who had three sons.
According to the interpretation of Genesis 10, which is often called the "Table of Nations," there are not explicitly stated "languages" but rather a list of nations descended from Noah's sons, which are often interpreted as representing different language groups, with the number usually considered to be around 70 distinct groups based on the names listed in the chapter; however, it's important to note that Genesis 11 clarifies that before the Tower of Babel, there was only one language on earth.
Oh I love this... AND, it requires a little more digging! The Queen of Sheba we will get to in the Bible, a woman. AND, right here in Genesis, here's where another translation can help. The NKJV writes those verses like this: 26 Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 28 [h]Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan. "sons"... ☺️🕵🏼♀️ - translation is often my first detective move.
Let me I have been born again along time ago but over time my love for Him has Fallin by the wayside. When I read the Bible it is so dry and boring I don't do it everyday. I know part of it is understanding is tough. I have tried different bibles and still dry. If you have any ideas that would be great,I would love to feel the fire again.
Oh my goodness, there is so much in this chapter that I have to dig into. I thought I had the birth order of Noah's son's figured out but your NLT states verse 21 differently than my NIV. The NIV refers to Japheth as the "older brother" while yours reads that Shem is the older brother. I looked up a couple of other translations and it seems to be almost 50/50 as to who was the older one so I am going with a Messianic translation which says Shem was the older brother. Either way, everyone agrees that Ham was the youngest son of Noah. I was also confused about the languages of the different families but that seems to be occurring after a few generations so I wonder if that would be after they built the Tower of Babel. That was when God caused them all to speak in different languages. Guess we will just have to "keep reading!" to find out...
Thanks Kaela for all of the time you invest in making these videos. Have a blessed day !!
You are so welcome! Have a blessed day!

Ohhh I just looked it up! The Hebrew name Sheba translates-- daughter of an oath

Hi Keala!
I have a question ❓
Can I write in my Bible and underline and highlight❓
God bless you✝️
Hey Kaela my study bible says women are not named because male heirs were the basis for genealogical records
My Bible says these were the son of Joktan not descendants i have the new international Bible
Good morning all!! Kaela, isn’t Sheba a woman’s name? It’s in that genealogy list
I love your curiosity. Check out my comment on your other comment about Sheba 😉🕵🏼♀️

My Maiden Name is Terri Daszkiewicz & I dont think no has that name except my Brother.
Have you thought about doing an overhead camera view so we can look down on your Bible rather than you holding up the Bible?
