The camera features several different modes from auto to manual. If you want to have some control over the picture taking process you could choose the live view option. This would allow you to experiment with exposure compensation, saturation, and white balance. We would also make sure to keep the camera's sensitivity (ISO) as low as possible. This will ensure the best quality. Also, having a support for the camera will prevent image blur from camera shake.

One thing he did not mention was the fact that the battery does not last long it lasts for around 3-4 hours at the most I recommend carrying an extra battery for the camera that way you always have a spare, besides the fact that the battery time does not last that long this camera is great!

When I sync the camera with my laptop, all of the images go automatically and I can find them with ease, but none of the videos make it that far and I can't figure out why. Hello Anthony Gatt. Date and time stamp can be turned on by accessing it in your camera's menu. Press the Menu button, choose Date Stamp on the camera tab, and then choose the desired option. Please note that once you add the date stamp it can not be edited.

I bought the SX530 about 6 months ago. I wanted it mainly for shooting action sports. So far I've been disappointed as many of my photos have turned out blurry. It appears that a camera needs to have a 2.8 lens to really freeze a moving target while the SX530 only goes down to 3.4. (doh!) There is also the problem of focus when the lens is fully extended. It seems to take over 6 seconds to focus in on a subject, and then it has a problem holding that focus. On a positive note, the 50x zoom is really its best feature. When fully extended the lens can get you quite close to a subject that is fsr away. The video I've shot with this camera has been okay, but I didn't buy it for that purpose.
Great information!! But I still have one question. When I record a video and try to download it to my iPhone it tells me it can’t download it because the video is over two minutes and I only recorded ten minutes.?

Unfortunately, for the bokeh effect you need a lens that can do that, and the lens on this camera cannot be changed.

What about the best shutter speed, aperture, f-stop, ISO etc for outdoor portraits
We would suggest using the portraid mode when shooting photos for best results.

when using video mode you can turn off the camera sounds so you don't hear them when watching the video. Since there is no input for a mike.

Hi Rowynn, you will need to purchase an USB cable or plug the SD card directly to your laptop to transfer the videos recorded.

Hi! You should shoot on av mode at all times to work at long zoom and sports, plus you must remember that the shutter has to be at 1/1000 or faster.
