My guy, I'm stoked you are into Warhammer. Please PLEASE finish the Helsreach series. I know it's long but you could break it up into parts. I promise you it's worth it. You'll learn so much while being amazed at the same time. PLEASE WATCH IT.
So for all those who are wondering, this is a trailer for the new edition of "the Horus Heresy" table top game which is basically the 40k table top but set in 30k and all of the factions are human (all 18 legions, custodes, guard, mechanicum and I believe a few more but I can't remember). The current edition of the horus heresy is base on 7th edition 40k (I believe) which was a bit complicated so many people stuck with the version based on the 6th edition of 40k so the fact that they are finally updating it is amazing.
Aww. I thought it would be RTS game like Dawn of War or something. That would be amazing because I got into Warhammer 40k from Dawn of War like 10 years ago.
The Horus Hersey books are amazing. There are like 70 of them but you can skip alot of them if you just want the "main" story line. Warhammer Horus heresy is probably my favorite setting in any sci fi universe.
The Macharius Crusade trilogy is a great take on Imperial Guardsmen point of view. I enjoy all the Imperial Guard books because they are simply human beings in mass fighting against the tides of Ork, Chaos and Xeno Scum. :P
The guy who does that voice over goes to my local war hammer shop. It’s for a new updated version of one of their other Board games that takes place before 40K and is pretty much just marines vs marines.
the first 4 books are a series, the rest can be read in pretty much any order. i dont normally read much but please give the first book a try and youll be hooked. its very good narration from the perspective of a human journalist that is allowed to join an expedition. more depth than you'd expect from the name warhammer.
If you're wanting to explore more Warhammer content the Helsreach is a MUST! I know you saw the prologue just over a year ago and that was, of course , just a taste of what's to come. It's probably the best piece of fan work ever put together, please check it out, we'd love to see what you think of it!
Horus Heresy is a big series, written by different authors some of them are better then others (some of them arent good though), BUT here is the list that absolutely worth reading for start: - Horus Rising (I am legit crying) - False Gods -Galaxy in Flames -The Flight of the Eisenstein
Flight of the Eisenstein has one of the saddest moments in 30k/40k: "We'll go together, shall we?" I had to put the book down for a short while after that scene. 'Fear To Tread' is also a must-read, and I'd highly recommend Mechanicus if only to see how close humanity came to a second golden age before it all came crashing down.
I loved this trailer loved the book series this trailer makes me want the tabletop stuff though looks so good also lol found your hat in this video rather funny did you mean for it to do that
You’ll love the drop site massacre, spoilers the loyalists get virus bombed but you’ll wanna keep the ancient dreadnaught Rylanor in mind dudes a fuckking master of trolling
Horus Heresy is basically the single most important event in Warhammer 40k lore. It was the Civil War in the Imperium of man which saw half of its army turn to the side of Chaos which The Emperor tried to destroy. After Primarchs (the Emperor's sons) were scattered around the galaxy by the Chaos Gods, Horus was the first one found by the Emperor and for decades he was the only son found. Eventually the remaining Primarchs were found and after a big war with the Orks the Emperor made Horus "The Warmaster", giving him the command over the armies and the other Primarchs as this "first among equals". As one can imagine, being daddy's favorite son and being given command over the most powerful army in the known universe tend to make one's ego to swell like crazy. Chaos Gods took advantage of that and started putting all sorts of thoughts in Horus' mind, until eventually he was on their side and started plotting to overthrow his father. Of course alone he wouldn't be able to topple his father's rule, so he needed allies. Fortunately he was respected by all of his brothers and well liked by most, and some of them held much more respect, trust and affection for him than The Emperor, so he wouldn't be alone. But two or three brothers and their armies wouldn't be enough, so he set into motion events that would eventually see full half of the Primarchs and their Legions turn against the Imperium and follow Warmaster's lead. The traitor Primarchs and their Legions were: Horus and his "Luna Wolves"; Perturabo with "Iron Warriors"; Angron with "World Eaters"; Lorgar with "Word Bearers"; Aplharius and Omegon (they're twin brothers) with "Alpha Legion"; Fulgrim with "Emperor's Children"; Konrad Curze with "Night Lords"; Mortarion with "Death Guard"; and Magnus the Red with "Thousand Sons". Some of them joined of their own accord (Lorgar, Angron, Konrad and Mortarion), some joined after events orchestrated by Horus and/or the Chaos Gods (Magnus, Perturabo, Fulgrim), and then there is Alpharius and Omegon where it looks like Alpharius was genuinely on Horus' side while Omegon was loyal to the Emperor and sabotaged the Warmaster's forces from within. The loyalist Primarchs and their forces were: Leman Russ with "Space Wolves"; Vulcan with "Salamanders"; Corvus Corax with "Raven Guard"; Rogal Dorne with "Imperial Fists"; Roboute Guilliman with "Ultramarines"; Lion El'Johnson with "Dark Angels"; Sanguinius with "Blood Angels"; Jaghatai Khan with "White Scars"; Ferrus Manus with "Iron Hands". Of these Ferrus Manus got killed in the first big battle of the war where Fulgrim (his most beloved brother and closest friend) cut his head off, Vulcan got captured by Konrad Curze (fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy) and Corax went into hiding for some time, while their respective legions were nearly completely wiped out- of 80k Raven Guard only 3k survived and they had the lowest casualties compared to the Salamanders and especially the Iron Hands. After a LONG civil war that saw several supremely important characters die and a lot of events that would shape the fate of the galaxy ten thousand years later took place, the end result was that traitors lost, Imperium had the Pyrrhic Victory to end all Pyrrhic Victories, Horus got DELETED by the Emperor with absolutely no hope of ever being resurrected, but not before he killed Sanguinius and mortally wounded The Emperor who had to be put on life support and remains so to this day, ten thousand years later... I highly recommend reading some Horus Heresy books as they are some of the best writing 40K has to offer, especially the interaction between the Primarchs and The Emperor. There are about 70 books, but you can skip most of them if you want just the main story (though I hardly recommend that you read them some time bc they're great) and with The Siege of Terra series coming to an end soon it's as good a time as any to catch up. It's really worth giving a read (or a listen bc they're also available in audio book format).
Horus heresy is one of the most epic piece of literature I have ever had read in my life. To start, go to forge world as HH hasn’t been released to the GW site currently
They give you the best look into the 40k world and easier to follow as it gets you used to the universe and has a main character they are separate trilogies but all part of the same story it’s a trilogy of trilogies as they are all connected
The Horus Heresy books are great, I have a lot of them them physically but have been getting them again on Audible as well so I can listen to them while working out or at work.
The trailer is about the new edition of warhammer 30k (tabletop game), the horus heresy. It's not warhammer 40k, it's a different game I don't think warhammer + is worth it right now. If you only want to see animations,it's not worth it. If you like tabletop battle reports and painting videos, then maybe it's worth it.
Id like to see what you think of the Warhammer darktide trailers. Its a new warhammer game coming out in September where you play as guardsmen or ogryns
Would love to see you use tabletop simulator and learn to play the tabletop game either 40k or horus heresy Also paint your models in Blood Ravens scheme Also it's a re-release and update to one of the games they have with more plastic models and new rules
You should read the Star Wars EU books before Disney bought Star Wars. They have a lot of continuity from the six movies, the LucasArt video games, the clone wars show, and the clone wars cartoon from 2003. It’s also connected to the droids, and ewalk cartoon from the 1980’s. They help flesh out what happen before episode one, why are the Sith angry with the Jedi, why the republic is full of bureaucrats, the hunting for the remains Jedi after order 66, how the rebels was created to fight the Empire, etc.
If u haven't played it, I recommend checking out the mass effect games. The legendary edition released a few months ago and includes the original trilogy along with all the dlc, alternate appearance packs and weapon packs

I personally don't think the Warhammer Plus subscription is worth the money as is since there isn't all that much quality animation content on there yet. I'd also be psyched to see you paint up those models you picked up a while back!
Warhammer plus is NOT worth the money, there is really only one series worth a damn on there, just wait a couple years till more of the shows they have planned come out, right now it's not worth it at all.
Warhammer is a fantasy world based loosely on LOTR that spans 10s of thousands of years into the future and 'epic' in size, brutality and morality being an understatement. It's like greek mythology being continued for millennia .
You should read the Horus Heresy books. Just finished the first one myself, and it's BY FAR the best 40k novel I've read so far. If you're on the road all the time, I highly recommend the audiobooks. The narrator is great.

The problem with the Warhammer 40k books is that they started out really good (depending on the author), but over time they all started running into more and more problems. Examples being them giving books about the God-Emperor to authors who hate him or absolutely no consistency in the characters in the stories. By the way, GW doesn't consider the books canon. basically this is the horus heresy 2,0 all the models for horus heresy were all resin which is really annoying but with this trailer 2.0 is making new more reliable plastic models that are scaled up to correct sizes. in the warhammer community this is a very big deal.
The Horus Heresy is a table top game mode. much like the battlefleet and rogue trader editions. they are like spin offs. so the Horus Heresy is taking the modern Warhammer game and working the prequel 30k stuff into it. to make it easier i want you to imagine star wars movies right. but then Knights of the old Republic comes along as a prequel taking place thousands of years before the events of the movies. thats kinda what this is for table top. Warhammers version of Kotor. lol

As cool as this trailer looked, it highlights one of my biggest gripes with GW, which you also pointed out, which is the fact that each time a new trailer drops I literally have no idea what its for. Is it a show? Movie? Video game? A new tabletop edition? Idk why they can't just say in the description something like "check out the new trailer for the upcoming game edition" or something so I don't have to scratch my head for 15 minutes after I watch the trailer.

Read the books damn you! They *Are* as good if not better. Also I'm fairly sure it's they're new RTS.
Warhammers version of Kotor. lol
Please say something about the new Halo show

Can you react to oversimplified Napoleonic war/wars
read it read it no war just read the book lol
As cool as this trailer looked, it highlights one of my biggest gripes with GW, which you also pointed out, which is the fact that each time a new trailer drops I literally have no idea what its for. Is it a show? Movie? Video game? A new tabletop edition? Idk why they can't just say in the description something like "check out the new trailer for the upcoming game edition" or something so I don't have to scratch my head for 15 minutes after I watch the trailer.
SPACE!!!
