Finding out about Porter Robinson freshman year of high school was a different feeling. It's been almost 6 years and his music still hits a chord like no other
i still love this song to pieces "we will wait for this" taught me to be patient more than anything else has in my life, currently in a pretty sucky situation in life but all you can do is hope it gets better
i was making music one day, and I came up with a chord progression that hit me so hard right in the feels, and i couldnt help but feel that I KNEW these chords, like ive heard them before, a long time ago. I sat there and listened to the strings and synth loop that small section over and over, while scouring my memory for why I felt like these were so familiar. as i listened, i was greeted by an overwhelming feeling of peace, and longing for a simpler, more innocent time - and that's when it hit me. The hand from this album materialized into my head, and the memories from middle school me discovering this song and my love for Porter Robinson flooded back, and I nearly burst into tears. I unintentionally recreated this song's chord progression because of how deeply lodged into my brain it was, and how much it meant to me as a kid. A kid with overwhelming fear of the rest of the world, unsure of what would come next, unsure of whether or not i wanted life to take me on its journey, and afraid to leave my comfort zone. Images of a neglected, emotionally damaged child swirled through my head as this song played in the background and reminded me that really, truly, everything will turn out all right. To any of you who may be this child reading this, I assure you. It will be a ride, and at times you will long for a simpler era in your life, but it is the wildest, craziest ride you will ever take, and at the end - looking back, you'll remember those times you took a chance and stepped out of your comfort zone, even for only a moment of glory. I apologize for the wall of text, but if youre reading this, more than likely you decided to click "show more". Im glad to have been given the opportunity to share my nearly incoherent emotions with you, fellow human. I love you.
Dontcha worry, it'll change plenty more again. Haha, imagine the alternative! Where somehow, 35 years later, it's still all the same and you're 50 years old!
We've come so far, seen so much, grew a little taller, got a little stronger, watched others go by, and we keep walking forward. To Worlds, to Nurture, and beyond.

Last time I heard this song I was in collge back in 2018, my parents were going through a messy divorce, causing arguments between my siblings and I, my girlfriend of 3 years dumped me during that same time and so I was stranded hours from home in a college town where I knew and had no one for support. Also, had like 200 dollars to my name. Ran into this song and helped me push all the way through. Now, 2023, listening to it while I'm moving into an apartment next to Lake Michigan in my brand new Tahoe, got a new job in my field of study, have a beautiful God daughter that's my brother's kid , and the family just keeps getting bigger! Got a great relationship with both my parents still and I have way more than 200 dollars to my name now! This song really saved me, and hearing it now simply makes my eyes water. We doing it foreal. If I can do it, you can too.
So glad I came back to this song, it’s been a few years but just as good, it was on my UA-cam playlist but some how got deleted, this song got me through so many dark times. Thank you.
used to listen to this song while walking home from school on my flip phone. would record the laptop audio with my phone and listen to it held up to my ears. saw you at second sky and it was magical. thank you for this album.
I just created a whole new world just from my imagination and this song made it happen. All the people and the story line for that world. Everything from the beginning to the end. This song is amazing.
I usually listen to metal, classical, and electronic (and a bit of jazz and pop). This album consistently makes my top 10, if not my top 5. Really wish my friends were more open to other genres....
porter robinson is the man, much better than most dj's/muscians that are around today but I have gotta say that language is by far the best track he has made
His older stuff was way better in my opinion. I loved all the shit he did on Spitfire back in like 2011 a hell of a lot more than most of his new music. Vandalism, and Unison were such great songs.
there's a lot of endless praise in the comments, for good reason of course, but suffice it to say I think this album made all our childhoods a bit better. this remains one of the only albums, out of thousands I've listened to, that I remember the lyrics of every song. good on ya rob, keep following your dreams and passions. we'll happily follow along with you as you inspire millions
This is one of my favorite albums ever. I listen to Worlds constantly on iTunes, especially when I'm doing homework or studying. The sound is great, it's creative, it's calming and beautiful, it's transcendent, and it's perfect. Great job.
I'm sure he's in a better place. I'm sorry for your loss. Take care and stay strong, that's what he would have wanted you to do, live your life to the fullest, and keep him in your thoughts. ✨❤
For real, I still come back to this album. It's so brilliantly done on a sound design level, like music aside. All that's great, but just what he was able to do interms of sheer soundscape is both inspiring and baffling. I will never not consider this album a work of genius.
It doesn't really matter what genre Porter calls his music because at the end of the day he makes the best music ever heard by human ears, from Languge to Sad Machine to Easy to Lionhearted he's the greatest.
It's been 9 years since it came out, this fills me with nostalgia, the truth is that for me this song has a very beautiful meaning, but in the rainy season everything feels perfect, it feels alive, but I really miss going to school with my friends I miss that 2014 of beautiful memories, Porter Robinson thank you very much I appreciate it with all my heart
This song makes me imagine adventures in the stars and fighting for the greater good and not having to think of life on earth when so many other exist, but I’m stuck here, so I’ll just keep imagining
I’m finally seeing him after waiting YEARS in okee this weekend. Words cannot describe my excitement. Porters music has done so much for me mentally the last 9 years
I am lost, listening to this at this moment because, I just lost my Toy Poodle Bentley, after 14 and a half years and he used to lean into me giving me his little poodle hugs. My family is hurting so much right now, he was such a special little guy, so loving. His little brother Paisley is a 5 year old Yorkie and is mourning also as he has never been without his big brother Bentley. We loved Bentbent so much and he is so missed, so missed. I know it will get better with time, but for now, 2 days after his death, we are grieving and it is very difficult. Bentley was a member of the family since birth, and was like a child to our family. My kids grew up with him, and we will miss him so much. This song just reminds me of his hugs, I would give my life to feel that little poodle hug just one more time. Rest In Peace Bentley, The Best Boy Ever!
I dont think there will ever be a reason for anyone to dislike a song from Porters latest album, unless they're so obsessive over his songs that the simply must flip their screens upside down to give it yet another like :)
This is electronic. Because it is music. EDM is not music. EDM is a money-making ploy for marketing companies to bring more revenue to generic, over-played pop music that has electronic components. People are just foolish enough to label every electronic thing as EDM because they are don't know what real electronic music is. Keep making beautiful music, Porter.
Well, t's not like he's giving this album for free. You know, selling your work as "something different" or "pretty" is a also a "money-making ploy". It's all marketing, no matter how cool or nice it sounds.
I dislike comments like this because it shows the true ignorance of people. EDM stands for Electronic Dance Music, which means all genres like: Dubstep, Electro House, Progressive House, Deep House, Ambient, Future Bass, Trap, Big Room (even though I despise it), Tropical House, Techno, Melbourne Bounce, Trance, Drumstep, Drum N Bass, Nu Disco, Indie Pop, etc. Please do not refer to EDM as a whole because this song would fall under EDM.
EDM may be a ploy for money MOST of the time, but that doesn't mean it always is. It is the people like you that need to broaden their acceptance range and realize that not everything can be explained or put on a stereotypical or generic opinion or thought. EDM is beginning to become corrupt, so I will agree with you on that particular view, but that does not, in any possible way, mean that it isn't music. It also does not mean in any way that people are foolish enough to, " label every electronic thing as EDM because they don't know what real electronic music is. " It isn't the foolish that fall for the branding, it is the people that purely like the music. What I just said does not mean I am supporting the generic, greedy ways some producers have become fond of. What it means is that Porter is doing it right. I agree with you, just some quirks I had to work out.
This album hasn't aged a bit for me, 5 years after it's release. This is so rare for Electronic Albums.
agreed

marco still not enough ... porter deserves music awards that don't even exist yet
6.6M plays on Spotify, though. And an additional 2.6M for the filous remix.
Pandora, Spotify, UA-cam etc.
used to listen to this song while walking home from school on my flip phone. would record the laptop audio with my phone and listen to it held up to my ears. saw you at second sky and it was magical. thank you for this album.
You going second sky again?
I listened porter Robinson music so much when I was younger
I just created a whole new world just from my imagination and this song made it happen. All the people and the story line for that world. Everything from the beginning to the end.
This song is amazing.
Tell me about it please.
I wanna know what this world is. WRITE A BOOK. XD
please write a book
I will :D but I suck at writing
Cool, mind telling me the story?
I play this every time I drive through the expressway. its like a time-space warp feeling.
6 months later, and this album is still what gets me through it all. Thank you, Porter. Thank you.
I usually listen to metal, classical, and electronic (and a bit of jazz and pop). This album consistently makes my top 10, if not my top 5. Really wish my friends were more open to other genres....
porter robinson is the man, much better than most dj's/muscians that are around today but I have gotta say that language is by far the best track he has made
Renny...311280! I CHOOSE YOU... for a LIKE!
His older stuff was way better in my opinion. I loved all the shit he did on Spitfire back in like 2011 a hell of a lot more than most of his new music. Vandalism, and Unison were such great songs.
I like porter but Madeon is my favourite :)
Oliver Saunders Madeon is da bomb!!! (but porter is pretty cool too)
Agreed
You know I've been looking for this song for years and I just happened to find it because UA-cam recommended me a random playlist omg
Autumn Freeman one of the only times UA-cam Recommendations are factually useful/good...
Do you even UA-cam bro? Lol true
found this watching google search for 2014
Autumn Freeman right that happened to me too but thankfully UA-cam
You’ve always got your handy Shazam
This might literally be the greatest EDM album we'll ever hear
there's a lot of endless praise in the comments, for good reason of course, but suffice it to say I think this album made all our childhoods a bit better. this remains one of the only albums, out of thousands I've listened to, that I remember the lyrics of every song. good on ya rob, keep following your dreams and passions. we'll happily follow along with you as you inspire millions
The most popular song in my High School last year surprisingly (Usually people like country and pop music). Top notch Porter.
wtf man. You school sounds awesome
Country...?
But nobody likes country unless they aren't normal or they aren't people...
ALIEN ALERT! SOMEONE LET THE GOVERNMENT KNOW!
+Parallel Hitler A good dictator :most people who like country live in rural areas a.k.a countryside
Justin sénéchal And are aliens
This is one of my favorite albums ever. I listen to Worlds constantly on iTunes, especially when I'm doing homework or studying. The sound is great, it's creative, it's calming and beautiful, it's transcendent, and it's perfect. Great job.
If you ever have time you should listen to Madeon's album Adventure
I should give it a shot, thank you ^_^
Its feels like I'm in a whole virtual world listening to this song.
It's supposed to be that way
You are!
Technicolor of madeon has the same feeling
Virtual self
This song reminds me of a good friend. He just passed away yesterday and I was really sad. But when I found this song, it teaches me to move on.
The lyrics make so much more sense when you think of it like that huh?
Imsorry
I'm sure he's in a better place. I'm sorry for your loss. Take care and stay strong, that's what he would have wanted you to do, live your life to the fullest, and keep him in your thoughts. ✨❤
rest in peace
Rest In peace homie
August 12th 2021 it´s been 7 years and this album still sounds like something from the future, totally ahead of our time... Happy Birthday Worlds.
Br?
0:42 i love this
Porter is becoming one of my favorite DJs
Same...
same here
Porter is anything but a "DJ"
He is an ARTIST
Sommi T i think it's better without becoming
For real, I still come back to this album. It's so brilliantly done on a sound design level, like music aside. All that's great, but just what he was able to do interms of sheer soundscape is both inspiring and baffling. I will never not consider this album a work of genius.
It doesn't really matter what genre Porter calls his music because at the end of the day he makes the best music ever heard by human ears, from Languge to Sad Machine to Easy to Lionhearted he's the greatest.
Well him Seven Lions and Fox Stevenson anyway
Glad to know 15 year old me had an amazing taste in music 😂😂😂😂
I’ve fallen in love with a few songs over the years. Some get old.. this one never has, and I don’t think it ever will. Love you Porter ♥️
One of the best EDM songs of all time.
Daaaaamn i was looking for this song for more than a year FINALLY

6 years ago this album entered my life. And it changed my entire life... thank you Porter. You saved my life.
Lean into my side
Never felt alive
Call the chants inside
We will wait for this
Call the chance and sigh
call the chants inside sounds a lot better tho
バカ
***** はいあなたくそ
The lyrics on the vinyl say "Call the chance and sigh", in any event they're almost exactly the same.
I came across this song on a chill station. Nice!!!
This song makes me imagine adventures in the stars and fighting for the greater good and not having to think of life on earth when so many other exist, but I’m stuck here, so I’ll just keep imagining
An actual recommendation by UA-cam that wasn't shit. Just bought the rest of the album after hearing this and Fresh Static Snow . Amazing vibes
@Mr SlippyFist also known as wanting a different feeling when listening to music from a cd
I’m finally seeing him after waiting YEARS in okee this weekend. Words cannot describe my excitement. Porters music has done so much for me mentally the last 9 years
how was it? :)
This album is still a magical journey
Rip
Sorry for your family's loss 😢 this song really does link with the passing of a loved one
Godlike. This album is the peak of electronic music.
I dont think there will ever be a reason for anyone to dislike a song from Porters latest album, unless they're so obsessive over his songs that the simply must flip their screens upside down to give it yet another like :)
WE WILL WAIT FOR THIS
Relistening to your music makes me genuinely happy. thank you porter.
Nostalgia hits me hard on this one 😭
This song reminds me of my skiing days.....miss them af
10 yrs later, its still divine
Can't wait to have a car and blast Porter's songs while driving
Especially at night
@@yodelehehoo Driving at night on an empty highway, blasting Language, going way too fast
It's like a dream tbh
Im kinda on the fence about that, cause i dont want to have an emotinal breakdown while driving.
I have 13 years, so i have to wait MUCH MORE
Same lmao
I can't believe it's been 7 years and I haven't heard this amazing song before. I need to listen to the rest of the album at some point.
This song, this channel, your music; it's all art. And you sir, are an artist.
any person that makes anything could be considered an artist
We will wait for this.
The first minute of the song is definitely the best part of the song
I agree 100%
in my opinion the breakdowns are better ^-^
In my opinion, all of it is better.
***** That was put beautifully. "Drowning in colorful sound" is exactly how I feel. Well said
+ElectricRyan Haha that you are
This song always makes me look at the brighter side when everything seems against me.
I am inclined to agree
so true ..
Yes it's very inspiring. Songs like these help me keep being optimistic and live a positive lifestyle. 😊
Fid Era you are right
Fid Era YES
This is electronic. Because it is music. EDM is not music. EDM is a money-making ploy for marketing companies to bring more revenue to generic, over-played pop music that has electronic components. People are just foolish enough to label every electronic thing as EDM because they are don't know what real electronic music is. Keep making beautiful music, Porter.
Well, t's not like he's giving this album for free.
You know, selling your work as "something different" or "pretty" is a also a "money-making ploy". It's all marketing, no matter how cool or nice it sounds.
You..... Idunno what it is but..... I don't like you. Oh well.
This is real electronic music
