I started watching Doug's video with this Rover being pulled out of the trash years ago. I love everything Rover even though I have never owned one. I watch his channel and Addicted Motors as well. I would love to find a old Discovery 1 or 2 or even better a LR3 for a weekend driver. Looking for something in not all that need of major spending to get it road worthy. I live in Graham, N.C. and have past attachments to the Richmond area. My late Aunt worked at the capitol and gave tours there. She was the Southern Belle and a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. I am watching your channel and am enjoying it very much. With this pandemic finding used cars like a Rover is difficult and wanting to make sure I am not buying a problem. I have asked Troy at Addicted Motors to find me something like what I want. Hopefully I will soon. Being 68 this year I am getting in a hurry. Cheers

That was some of the most creative stop motion work I've seen. Great application for it, really loved that you did that. I know how much extra time that took to do, kudos to you for that.

Really enjoying this!! I have a RRC myself and am slowly going through a rolling restoration making tasteful mods as I go. I'm rather envious of the condition of these vehicles, what a smorgasbord of parts you have to choose from! I feel like you could include a lot more detail in these videos, for example, the separation of chassis/body could easily be a video in its own right. For people that are interested in this content, lots of detail and seeing you do the work is hugely valuable (very different style but Church House Classics is one I enjoy for that reason). Well done on the stop-motion, that must take some patience...
Matt, great point. I go back and forth between thinking 'Who would want to see me drone on and on about what I'm doing' but you're not the first person that's said that. No doubt I would lose some people if I stretch it all out but I would pick up others that really want to see examples and techniques. I did a 35-minute video on doing an engine refresh on a Defender and I think it is more like you suggest. Thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can pack more in the last two episodes.
Could not agree more! Here in the U.K. we can only dream of RRC's in this condition! Just check out Church house classics to see the 'restoration' effort undertaken to recover these old classics. I can illy understand you wanting to take the best from both vehicles but can only weep at the donor car being parted out. Can you go into a little more detail on the implications of a salvage title? Does this mean it is no longer road legal and thus can never be repaired and put back on the road? I assume so as the repairs are really very very minor. Look forward to the remaining episodes. 👍
Hi Steve. Thanks for the great response. Yes, it's very likely that the vehicle could have been repaired and put back on the road legally. It would just carry a 'branding' on the title for ever and ever and I don't know about other countries but in the US, especially with collectible cars, people don't like 'qualifiers'. If this were just a commercial work truck or Honda Civic grocery-getter, many people would say 'who cares about a Salvage title, I'll just drive it into the ground and sell it for scrap when I'm done'. However, I find that most people when making an emotionally-motivated purchase such as a RRC (compared to a practical purchase) want to have a nice clean title so they aren't explaining and explaining when they try to sell it some day. You can always sell anything if the price is low enough but in the US, repaired salvage vehicles often go for significantly less than clean titles, even if the repairs are minor. I just decided that if I was going to spend so many hours and my blood, sweat and tears on this restoration, it would break my heart at the end if people looked down on it because of a branded title. Many people try to get the government to remove the salvage history from the record but it's almost NEVER possible. I hope that helps a little. Some will argue. I'm just providing my own experience.

Hello Alejandro. Thanks for the nice comment. I’m excited to hear about your project. Yes, the aftermarket hasn’t quite caught up with the soaring popularity of the Range Rover Classics. My success was mostly because I had that donor and I could pick parts off of it (select the best part from either of the two vehicles). Otherwise, you just have to keep using a Google to find sources. Make sure to watch eBay as you may find that helpful. I’ve sold most of my left over parts. I still have a good front bumper but that’s about it. Let me know if there are certain things you need and I’ll let you know if I have a source.

I also search on Facebook groups, lately I have purchase the front signal turns in the US (still on their way). But I guess that maybe you can point me in the direction from you get those panels for the floor, mostly the driver side. If you know something, I will appreciate it very much.
